8.India, UK and Australia to jointly launch IRIS initiative at COP26

10.Agni-5 missile successfully test-fired

Orissa ‘s Abdul Kalam island on Agni-5 missile was successfully tested. This missile has the capability to hit targets up to a distance of 5000 km . Under its JD, the whole of Asia including China and Pakistan will come. This was the eighth Test of Agni-5. Agni-5 is India’s first and only intercontinental ballistic missile , developed by Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) . With this, India has become the fifth country in the world to develop such a missile . Right now only America, Russia, France and ChinaOnly had such missiles. With this test, India has joined the Intercontinental Ballistic Missile Club along with America, Russia, China and France. Agni-5 is 17.5 meters long with a diameter of two meters i.e. 6.7 feet. This missile covers a distance of 8.16 km in one second. It is capable of simultaneously carrying up to one and a half tons of nuclear warheads. The entire continent of Asia and Africa and most of Europe will be under its JD. This missile once released cannot be stopped. A three-stage solid fuel engine is used in this missile.
