The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs , chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has approved the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sanchay Yojana (PAKSY) for 2021-26 with a provision of Rs.93,068 crore . The CCEA has sanctioned Rs 37,454 crore as central assistance to the states and Rs 20,434.56 crore for repayment of the loan taken by the Government of India for irrigation development during PMKSY 2016-21. Accelerated Irrigation Benefit Program (AIBB), Har Khet Ko Pani (HKKP) and land, water and other development components were also approved for continuation in 2021-26. Accelerated Irrigation Benefit ProgramIt is a flagship program of the Central Government. Its objective is to provide financial assistance to irrigation projects. The total additional irrigation potential under AIBP is to be raised to 13.88 lakh hectares during 2021-26. A provision of 90 percent central funding of water bodies has been made for two national projects. These projects are Renukaji Dam in Himachal Pradesh and Lakhwar Multipurpose Project in Uttarakhand.
