1 Asian Development Bank will give a loan of US $ 400 million to Bangladesh

The Asian Development Bank will give a  US$400 million  loan  to  Bangladesh for the construction of  a 102-km  dual gauge railway   between  Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar  to boost trade, investment and tourism . The loan agreement was signed between representatives of ADB and the Government of Bangladesh in Dhaka. The new rail link is expected to open this year. It aims to provide transport facility to 29 lakh passengers annually between Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar by 2024. The Chattogram–Cox’s Bazar Railway is part of the Trans-Asia Railway Network, a United Nations-led initiative that aims to provide seamless rail connectivity between Asia and Europe to better connect people and markets.

2 Greece’s conservative New Democracy party wins parliamentary elections

Greece  ‘s centre-right leader  Kyriakos Mitsotakis  will be sworn in as Prime Minister for the second time. With a vote count of 99.67 percent, Mitsotakis’  New Democracy party  won the parliamentary election with 40.55 percent of the vote, more than double the main opposition party  Syriza  ‘s 17.84 percent. The election gave New Democracy a clear majority of 158 seats in the 300-member parliament, while the opposition party Syriza won 48.

3 Dairy Minister Parshottam Rupala launches Nandi portal for new drugs and vaccination system

Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Minister   Parshottam  Rupala  launched the NOC approval-Nandi portal for new drugs and vaccination systems. The Nandi Portal has been developed to pave the way for a flexible animal health sector by streamlining and digitizing the regulatory approval process. It also aims at expediting the process of assessing and vetting the safety, efficacy and essentiality of veterinary product proposals received in the Department. The Nandi portal will help in achieving the goal of developing a global manufacturing hub for veterinary products in the country and encouraging research and development focused on improving animal health.

4 Prime Minister of Nepal inaugurated the building affiliated to Tribhuvan University

 Prime Minister of Nepal  Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda  inaugurated  the building affiliated to Tribhuvan University  . It   was built under the High Impact Community Development Program with the help of the Government of India . The campus currently runs several management and business courses. This building has been built at a cost of 4 crore 19 lakh Nepali rupees.

The Prime Minister  , Shri Narendra Modi  has   greeted the people on the occasion of Kharchi Puja . Kharchi Puja or Kharchi Puja   is a Hindu festival of Tripura . 6 Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare signed an MoU with Pixel Space India Private Limited

 The Ministry  of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare  signed an MoU with Pixel Space India Pvt Ltd  in  New Delhi . Shri CS Murthy, Director, MNCFC signed the MoU on behalf of the Government of India while Pixel Space India Pvt Ltd was represented by Shri Abhishek Krishnan, Chief of Staff.  It aims to develop various geospatial solutions on a free of cost basis for the Indian agriculture ecosystem  using  hyperspectral data sets of pixels  . The project is aimed  at crop value mapping, differentiating between different stages of crops, crop health monitoring and estimation of organic carbon in soil. Focuses on leveraging hyperspectral data samples received from PIXEL’s path-finding satellites to develop analytical models focused on The hyperspectral data provided by the pixels to the government will enable it to develop methods of use. MNCFC on behalf of D&FW will collaborate with the PIXEL team to develop and implement the appropriate methodology.

7 World Bank will help for better technical education in India

The World Bank  has approved a loan of US$ 255.5 million  to  improve the quality of technical education in government institutions  in India  . The loan   will support around 275 government-run technical institutions in selected states across the country, over the next five years . The USD 255.5 million loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) has a final maturity of 14 years, including a grace period of five years. More than 350,000 students will be benefited every year from the loans given by the World Bank to improve the quality of technical education.

Renowned singer-composer  Shankar Mahadevan  has   been awarded an honorary doctorate degree  by  Birmingham City University (BCU)  in  England . 11 India Liberalized UAV Export Policy

Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT)  has recently  made significant changes in the policy governing the export of Drones/UAVs from India. have been implemented. Previously, drones fell under the restrictive Category 5B of the SCOMET list, which regulates items with dual-use capability in both civilian and military applications. To address these challenges, DGFT introduced the General Authorization for Export of Drones (GAED). 14 Diksha Dagar became the champion of Czech Ladies Open

Union Sports Minister  Anurag Singh Thakur  has  congratulated Diksha Dagar  for   winning the Czech Ladies Open  and  Ladies European Tour . In a tweet, he said that the journey of 22-year-old Diksha is an inspiration not only for India but for the entire world. Shri Thakur said that Diksha Dagar   is the only Indian golfer in history to compete in both the Olympics and the Deaflympics. She became the Deflympics champion. This is her second title on the Ladies European Tour (LET). She had earlier won her first LET title (Investec Women South Africa Open) in the opening year of her professional career in 2019. She was a member of the winning team of the Aramco Team Series in 2021.
