1.BJP Legislature Party meets today to discuss political situation in Karnataka:-

The BJP Legislature Party Karnataka will meet in Bengaluru today to discuss the situation arising out of spate of resignations by congress and JD(S) MLAs.The party lawmakers are also expected to work out strategies in case the HD Kumaraswamy government collapses.A delegation of BJP leaders met Governor Vajubhai Vala at Raj Bhawan yesterday and sought his intervention for a floor test in the assembly as according the party the Kumaraswamy government has lost the majority.The Supreme court will hear a petition today filed by rebel Congress and JD(S) MLAs alleging that Karnataka assembly speaker has been deliberately not accepting their resignations.
Counsel for rebel MLAs told a bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi that these lawmakers have already resigned from their membership of the assembly and wanted to contest fresh elections.Meanwhile, the political crisis in the state has further deepened after two more Congress MLAs MTB Nagaraj and K Sudhakar submitted their resignation to the Assembly Speaker yesterday. With this, the number of rebels has gone up to 18.The Karnataka Government has called a cabinet meeting today.

 2.Jaipur Enters The UNESCO World Heritage Site List :-

The walled city of Jaipur has entered into the UNESCO World Heritage Site list on last week. Jaipur is well known for its iconic architectural legacy. It has become the second city of the country to enter into the UNESCO World Heritage Site after Ahmedabad.The nomination of Jaipur was supported by a majority of the countries. Jaipur has been nominated by India as it has an exceptional urban example in indigenous city planning and construction in South Asia.

3.Indian Government To Introduce An Indian Sovereign Bond To The World:-

The government has a tentative plan to introduce an Indian sovereign bond to the world. It can be used to mop up at least $10 billion, or about Rs 70,000 crore. The total sovereign debt at the end of March 2019 stood at $103.8 billion.It was a 3.8% of the GDP. India external debt to gross domestic product (GDP) is among the lowest globally at less than 5%. This will also have beneficial impact on demand situation for the government securities in domestic market.The Finance Bill showed that the net borrowing would be Rs.4.73 trillion, and the gross borrowing would be Rs.7.10 trillion. This is same as the interim budget. The bond yields climbed back.

4.Sri Lanka Inaugurated Its First Model Village Built With Indian Assistance At Ranidu Gama In Gampaha :-

A model village built with the Indian assistance as part of a housing project meant for war-affected people and estate workers inaugurated in Sri Lanka. India partnered with theMinistry of Housing and Construction and Cultural Affairs to build 100 model villages.It consists of a total of 2,400 houses all across Sri Lanka.The Indian grant of Rs 1,200 million (USD 17.5 million).Minister of Housing and Construction and Cultural Affairs Sajith Premadasa, former President Chandrika Bandaranayke Kumaratunga and Acting High Commissioner of India Shilpak Ambule inaugurated the first model village at Ranidu Gama in Gampaha.These 2,400 houses are in addition to the 60,000 accommodations built.They are under the Indian Housing Project meant for war affected people in northern and Sri Lanka and the estate workers in the plantation areas.

5.Nepal’s Effective Measures To Clean Up The Mount Everest :-

Nepal conducted a month-long cleaning campaign to clean the trashes in Mount Everest by collecting over 10,000 kg of rubbish from the region.The historical mega clean-up campaign was coordinated by government and non-government agencies of Nepal. A dedicated Sherpa team from the base camp to four higher camps collected waste from the roof of the world.Instead of sending solid waste to dump in the landfill site near Kathmandu, the items were segregated, processed and recycled as raw materials for various products. The collected materials were segregated in different categories like plastic, glass, iron, aluminium and textile.Among 10 tonnes of waste received, 2 tonnes have been recycled while the remaining eight were soil mixed with wrappers and semi-burned items, which could not be recycled.The authorities suggested to set up an initial processing unit in the mountain area itself, so that waste can be segregated immediately and easily managed.

World’s largest burn and plastic surgery institute named Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute. It started functioning in Dhaka, Bangladesh.The Outpatient Department (OPD) inaugurated by the Health and Family Welfare Minister of Bangladesh Zahid Maleque

7.Italy’s Prosecco Hills Added To UNESCO World Heritage List :-

Italy’s Prosecco hills northeast of Venice cultivated for centuries added to the World Heritage list by the UN cultural Organization. The grapes produce the famous prosecco sparkling wine are grown.The landscape is characterized by hogback hills, ciglioni and small plots of vines on narrow grassy terraces, forests, small villages and farmland. The region became Italy’s 55th World Heritage site.The prosecco sparkling white has the highest classification available to Italian wine. It is produced in a territory spread over nine provinces in Italy’s northeast. The sales of the wine rose six per cent in 2018 to 460 millionbottles.Around 75 percent were exported. The eight buildings designed by US architect Frank Lloyd Wright include the Guggenheim Museum in New York.

8.ICC World Cup: Australia take on England in 2nd semi-final today:-

In the ICC Cricket World Cup, defending champions Australia will take on hosts England in the second semi-final at Birmingham today.The match will begin at 3 PM Indian time. The Men’s Singles semi-final line up of the Wimbledon Tennis Championships, the third Grand Slam of the season at London, has been decided.World number one Novak Djokovic, second seed and eight-time winner Roger Federer, third-placed Rafael Nadal and Roberto Bautista Agut sealed the last-four berths last evening after winning their respective quarterfinal matches.While Djokovic defeated Belgian David Goffin, Federer beat Japan’s Kei Nishikori. Nadal got the better of American Sam Querrey, Agut saw off Argentine Guido Pella.
In the semi-finals, while Federer will face Nadal, Djokovic will meet Agut.The Women’s Singles last-four matches will be played today. Seven-time champion Serena Williams will clash with Czech Barbora Strycova, with Simona Halep taking on Elina Svitolina of Ukraine.

10.Government is committed to fiscal consolidation without :-

compromising costs: Sitharaman Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said on Wednesday that the government is committed to fiscal consolidation without compromising public spending. In response to the discussion on the General Budget 2019-20 in Lok Sabha, Sitharaman said that the government has fixed the fiscal deficit target of 3.3 percent of GDP for 2019-20. He said that the government has increased the minimum support price (MSP) of all 22 commodities. The Finance Minister said that by 2024-25, the government is taking many steps to make the country an economy of 5 trillion dollars. He said that funds for MNREGA and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural) can be increased later. Sitharaman said that the funds for all the schemes introduced for the common man have been increased. We will work with states to supply tap water to rural households by 2014. He said, “We want to assure Parliament that there is no need to speculate on the figures given in the budget and every data is authentic.”

 

11.CPSE ETF-6 to be launched on July 18, by which the government will raise Rs 10,000 crore :

-The government plans to raise Rs 10,000 crore through the sixth phase of the CPSE ETF. It will be launched on July 18. An official gave this information. CPSE Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) tracks the shares of 11 central public sector companies (CPSE) – ONGC, NTPC, IOC, Rural Electrification Corp, Power Finance Corp, Bharat Electronics, Oil India, NBCC India, NLC India and SJVN. . The official said that the original size of this follow-on-offer offer (FFO) issue would be Rs 8,000 crore, with an option to raise Rs 2,000 crore via additional subscription. This issue will probably open for Anchor Investors on 18th July. At the same time, the other investors will be able to invest in it from July 19.The government has already raised Rs 38,500 crore through the last five phases of the CPSE ETF. 3,000 crores in March 2014, 6,000 crores in January 2017, 2,500 crores in March 2017, 17,000 crores in November 2018 and 10,000 crores CPSE ETF in March 2019.The government wants to raise Rs 1.05 lakh crore through disinvestment in the current financial year 2019-20. Let us tell you that in the last financial year, the government had raised Rs 85,000 crore through disinvestment.
