1.The Cabinet approved the signing and confirmation of the agreement for information exchange and assistance in the collection related to taxes between India and Brunei Darussalam :-

Image result for taxes between India and Brunei DarussalamThis agreement will encourage the speed of exchange between India and Brunei for tax purposes, which will help in curbing tax evasion and tax avoidance curbs. The agreement will help in revenue collection collection claims made by both the countries.

There is no financial complication in this way. According to Section 9 of the agreement it will be borne by the Indian Government in case of extraordinary cost of more than 500 US dollars. There is a similar provision for India in other agreements to exchange tax information.

 

2.Cabinet approves setting up of new AIIMS in Jharkhand’s Deoghar :-

Image result for अखिल भारतीय  आयुर्विज्ञान संस्थानUnder the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Union Cabinet has approved the setting up of a new All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Deoghar in Jharkhand. An amount of Rs.1103 crores has been approved for the project and it will be set up under the AIIMS Prime Minister’s Health Protection Scheme (PMSAY).

 

3.Cabinet approves opening of National Mental Health Rehabilitation Institute in Bhopal :-

Image result for pmUnder the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Union Cabinet has approved the opening of the National Mental Health Rehabilitation Institute (NIMHR) in Bhopal. This organization will be set up under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 as a society under the Disabled Public Empowerment Department. In the first three years, this project is estimated to cost 179.5 million rupees. It includes non-recurring expenditure of 128.54 crores and recurring expenditure of Rs. 51 crores.  

 

4.Cabinet upturns budget for implementing network for spectrum of defense services  :-

Under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved to increase the budget of the NFS project to Rs 11,330 crore for the purpose of laying an alternative communication network for defense services. The Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure has approved more than Rs 13,334 crore in July 2012.

 

5.Mr. Hardeep Puri congratulated the winners of Sanitation Survey 2018-Indore, Bhopal and Chandigarh- which has been chosen as the Top 3 Most Clean :-

Union Minister of Urban Housing and Urban Affairs, Mr. Hardeep Puri today congratulated the winners while announcing results of Sanitation Survey 2018 at the National Media Center here. The Central Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry organized the Clean Survey 2018 under the aegis of Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban). It evaluated 4203 urban local bodies. 2700 evaluation personnel surveyed local bodies related to 40 million people of the whole country. The program continued from 4 January 2018 to 10 March 2018. Sanitation survey was conducted in 434 cities in 2017. On this occasion, Secretary Shri Durga Shankar Mishra, SBM-Urban Mission Director, Shri VK Jindal and officials of the Ministry were present.

 

6.Suspension ends in Karnataka, invitation to Yeddyurappa to form government; Azad will take oath :-

Image result for BJPAfter nearly thirty hours of tension in Karnataka after the electoral results, it was decided that the Taj would be tied to the head of Yeddyappa of BJP. On Wednesday night, Governor Vajubhai Va has invited Yeddyurappa as the leader of the biggest party to form government. It is believed that without any delay, Yeddyurappa will take oath of Chief Minister tomorrow morning. In the next 15 days, they have to prove the majority in the assembly.

 

7.Nepal’s Kami Sherpa climbed Everest for 22nd time, created new record :-

8.India gives Rs. 07 crore to Nepal for construction of embankment :-

Image result for भारत ने तटबंध निर्माण के लिए नेपालIn order to benefit lakhs of people living in Bagmati and Nepali floodplains of Nepal, India has provided the Nepal Government an assistance amount of 18.07 crores for construction of embankment in Lalbakaya and related training. According to the report, India’s ambassador in Nepal, Manav Singh Puri handed over checks to Nepal’s energy, irrigation and water resources secretary Sanjay Sharma. The Indian Embassy located in Kathmandu said in a statement that this amount has been given for the construction of embankments in the Bagmati and Kamala rivers in Lalbakeya, training related to it, flood control and water resources management. The Indian government has given Nepal a total of 468 rupees in 13 installments for river training and embankment construction since 2008.

 

9.Schools in Madhya Pradesh will no longer be ‘Yes Sir’, ‘Jai Hind’ will speak :-

10.Famous physicist George Sudarshan passes away :-

Image result for भौतिक वैज्ञानिक जॉर्ज सुदर्शन का निधनThe famous physicist of Indian origin, EC George Sudarshan (86), died in Texas, USA. His family has two children, besides his wife Bhamathi Sudarshan. Sudarshan’s funeral will be done on Thursday in Texas. Born in Kerala in 1931, Sudarshan has been a professor at the University of Texas for the last 40 years. He was born in 1931 in Pallam village of Kottayam district of Kerala. He studied at CMS College, Kottayam and did it from Masters University of Madras. He also worked with Homi Jehangir Bhabha for a short time in the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research. In 1958 he received a Ph.D. degree from the University and Rochester. After this, he post-doctoral in the direction of the Nobel Prize winner and famous physicist Julian Scwinger. In a career of five decade long, he wrote Quantum Optics, Quantum Genetics and Quantum Computation His contribution is also important in the field of philosophy and religion. He was a member of the long-time Honorary Advisory Council of the Mr. Meenakshi Temple in Houston. Given his contributions, the Government of India had awarded him Padma Vibhushan in 2007.

 

11.Arcelor-Mittal repays $ 7 billion in Essar Steel case :-
