1 “Children Displaced in a Changing Climate” report released

A recent study conducted by UNICEF  and  the Internal Displacement Monitoring Center  (IDMC) has revealed an early trend that  extreme weather events  have led to the displacement of at least 43 million children over  the past  six years. it  is equivalent to the worrying level of forcing  an average of 20,000 children to leave their homes and schools every day. The research highlights the deep impact of floods, storms, wildfires and drought on children and the urgent need for climate action. Between 2016 and 2021, floods and storms accounted for 95% of recorded child displacement. The traumatic experience of displacement can have profound effects on children, including disruption of their education, access to life-saving vaccines, and social networks.

2 Defense Minister Rajnath Singh’s visit to Italy: Agreement signed between the two countries to increase defense cooperation

Defense Minister  Rajnath Singh  spoke   to  Defense Minister  Guido Crosetto in Rome on the first day of his official visit to  Italy  . The two leaders  discussed opportunities in  the Defense Industrial Corporation . They also signed an agreement to increase defense cooperation between the two countries.  Did it. Shri Singh suggested increasing cooperation between Indian start-ups with Italian defense companies. According to the Defense Ministry, both sides discussed increasing cooperation in the field of training, exchange of information, maritime exercises and maritime security. The agreement for cooperation in the defense sector includes security and defense policy, research and development, education in the military field, maritime domain awareness, defense information sharing and industrial cooperation. This also includes setting up joint ventures and joint production and joint manufacturing.

3 Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani launched the National Community Management Program to tackle the problem of malnutrition among children.

Women and Child Development Minister  Smriti Irani  launched   a new  National Community Management Program in New Delhi  to tackle  the problem of child malnutrition.  aIt is a comprehensive program for better management of malnourished children in the country by identifying them and providing them nutritious food. At the Anganwadi level also this includes focus on nutrition management and follow-up care. The problem of malnutrition in children occurs due to lack of essential nutrients in the diet, which hinders the development of the body.

4. 8th Ayurveda Day will be celebrated on 10th of next month: Union AYUSH Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.

Union AYUSH Minister  Sarbananda Sonowal has said that the eighth Ayurveda Day  will be celebrated  on the 10th of next month  . Shri Sonowal said that the main program of this day   will be organized in Panchkula, Haryana . He told that this year its theme will be Ayurveda for health. He said that the theme of India’s G-20 presidency is in line with Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. All humans, wild animals, plants and environment and climate have been included in the Ayurveda Day of the year 2023.

5 National Health Authority creates record of issuing more than one crore tokens to those doing OPD registration using Aabha service

The National Health Authority  has   created a new record by issuing more than one crore tokens  to those doing  OPD registration  using  Aabha service . This paperless service   was launched in October last year under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission . Through this, patients can get instant registration by scanning the QR code placed at the OPD registration counter. This service is currently available in more than 2,600 health facilities in 419 districts of 33 states and union territories of the country.

6 Launch of Gaganyaan space vehicle Udan TV-D1 possible on October 21: Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh

Union Minister of State for Space,  Dr. Jitendra Singh has said that the launch of Gagayan Test Vehicle Development Flight (TV-D1)  is possible  on 21st of this month  . He said that  the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) will also test the capability of the system to eject astronauts from the spacecraft.  The Gaganyaan mission  includes the possibility of sending  unmanned and passenger spacecraft into space by 2024 . He informed that the test vehicle Space Flight TV-D1 was tested  at Satish Dhawan Space Center, Sriharikota. Will be done in. He said that its success will pave the way for the first unmanned Gaganyaan mission and later missions including astronauts. Before the Gaganyaan mission with astronauts, another space flight test will be conducted in the coming year. In which a female robot  astronaut named  Vyommitra ‘ will be sent.

7 Union Commerce and Industry Minister Shri Piyush Goyal unveiled the system based automated ‘Status Holder’ certificate under the Foreign Trade Policy 2023

Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution and Textiles,  Shri Piyush Goyal  ,  in a meeting with  the Export Promotion Councils  , announced an important issue of system based automated ‘ Status Holder ‘ Certificate  under the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2023. Initiative unveiled. Now the exporter   will not be required to apply to the office of the  Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) for status certificate and  export recognition by the IT system based on goods export electronic data and other risk criteria available with the Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence and Statistics (DGCIS). Will be provided.

8 JNU confers honorary doctorate on Tanzanian President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan

Tanzanian  President  Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan  was  awarded an honorary doctorate by Jawaharlal Nehru University for her significant role in   promoting India-Tanzania relations. Expressing his gratitude on this occasion, Dr. Hasan said that this honor will always remain in his memory as this is the first award for him in a foreign country.

9 Dakar Declaration 2023 on Climate Change

Ministers from the world’s  46 least developed countries (LDCs)  issued  a Joint Dakar Declaration on Climate Change   outlining their expectations and priorities for  COP28 . The manifesto   calls for urgent global emissions reductions to address the rapidly approaching 1.5°C global warming limit. Developed countries are urged to present a clear road map to at least double the adaptation finance distributed by 2025 through public, grant-based financing. A new collective quantified target on climate finance should provide new and additional resources beyond the current $100 billion per year limit.

10 What is Intifada?

 The recent occurrence of  the Hamas–Israel conflict  has raised concerns about a third intifada . Hamas is a  militant Palestinian nationalist group  that   has controlled Gaza since 2006 . Intifada means ‘ to shake ‘ in Arabic and was used   to describe the Palestinian uprising against the Israeli presence in the West Bank and Gaza . The first intifada lasted from 1987 to 1993 and the second intifada lasted from 2000-2005. The revolt was led by Palestinian youth who were fed up with the behavior of Israeli settlers. Tensions between Israel and Palestine have not decreased since the end of the second intifada.

11 Jammu and Kashmir officials plan revival of fragrant rice Mushk Budji

Mushk Budji , an indigenous  aromatic rice  variety  of Kashmir  , is on the verge of a significant revival, as  authorities in  Jammu and Kashmir (J&K)   have unveiled plans to expand its cultivation area by 5,000 hectares within the next three years . The move comes as a ray of hope for the high-cost traditional rice variety which was on the verge of extinction due to various challenges.  Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST) Experts highlighted several factors that pushed Mushk Budji rice to the brink of extinction. These include its susceptibility to blast disease, lack of uniformity in production, lack of quality seeds, poor yield potential due to stress mixture and expansion of high yielding paddy varieties in the region. As a result, cultivation of Mushk Budji rice remained limited to a few areas of the Kashmir Valley, and its area continued to decline over the years. Due to the tireless efforts of the Agriculture Department and SKUAST,  Mushk Budji rice   was granted the Geographical Indication (GI) tag in August.

12 Maharashtra government approves ‘Lake Ladki’ i.e. Pyari Beti scheme

Maharashtra Government  has approved  ‘ Lake Ladki ‘ i.e.  Pyari Beti Scheme . The scheme was announced in this year’s state budget. This   will be applicable to families holding yellow or saffron color ration cards . The state government has said that this scheme   will be applicable to girls born after April 1, 2023 . Under this , financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh  will be provided to girls from poor families  .

13 Delhi High Court will start live telecast of court proceedings from tomorrow

Delhi High Court   will telecast live court proceedings . It will begin with the proceedings of the division bench headed by the Chief Justice. Initially, the proceedings of some selected cases will be telecast live. The High Court will soon telecast live proceedings of the second division bench. According to the High Court, the content related to live telecast will be for information only and will not be considered as official record of the court. No person, social media platform or media person can record the live telecast of the court proceedings. The proceedings of Delhi High Court are completely paperless. Its hearing is held simultaneously through both video conferencing and physical medium.

14 ISRO conducts trajectory correction exercise for Aditya L1 mission

Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has  announced the successful execution of Trajectory Correction Maneuver (TCM) for its   Aditya  L1 spacecraft  . On October 6, its trajectory was corrected by approximately 16 seconds. This is called the Trajectory Correction Maneuver (TCM). Aditya L1 is on a 110-day journey to reach the Sun-Earth Lagrangian point 1 (L1), one of the longest space missions undertaken by an Indian spacecraft since the Mars mission of 2013-2014. L1 is located about 15 lakh km away from the Earth. According to ISRO, the TCM process ensures that the spacecraft is on its intended path towards entry into the ‘halo’ orbit around L1.

15 Miura-1 rocket: Europe’s first private rocket launched

Spanish aerospace company  PLD Space  has achieved a significant milestone by successfully launching  its recoverable  Miura-1 rocket . The achievement  marks Europe’s first fully private rocket launch  and provides a ray of hope for Europe’s space ambitions. The Miura-1 rocket, named after a fighting bull, performed a suborbital test flight with the goal of gathering vital data for future missions. The Miura-1 is a single-stage rocket that stands an impressive 41 feet (12.5 meters) high. Its payload capacity for suborbital space flights is approximately 220 pounds (100 kg). The rocket is designed with recovery capability, making it a pioneering project in Europe.

16 NASA to launch Psyche mission

NASA is preparing for an  ambitious mission  called  Psyche  , where a high-tech spacecraft  will set out on a 2.2 billion mile  journey  to explore  an asteroid named 16 Psyche . The mission, scheduled to launch on October 12, holds immense promise as it aims to explore this  metal-rich asteroid. The aim is to uncover the mysteries of and gain insight into planetary cores, contributing to our understanding of Earth’s formation. Asteroid 16 Psyche, located in the outer region of the main asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter, is the focus of the mission. What makes Psyche unique is its substantial metallic composition, which sets it apart from previous missions, which discovered asteroids composed primarily of rock or ice. Scientists believe that Psyche may be the remains of a planetary core.

17 Mont Blanc is shrinking

Mont Blanc  ,   the iconic peak of  the Alps  , the largest mountain range in  Central Europe , has seen a significant decline in height , falling by 2.2 meters  since 2021  Has come. 18 Antarctic sea ice decline sets new record

Recently,   scientists at the  National Snow and Ice Data Center  reported  a historic decline in Antarctic sea ice during winter , with widespread implications for the environment and climate. Concerns increased about. The National Snow and Ice Data Center has confirmed that Antarctic sea ice has reached unprecedented levels during the winter. The missing sea ice is about 386,000 square miles less than the previous record low recorded in 2022 – an area larger than Egypt. Sea ice is frozen sea water that undergoes a cycle of melting during the summer and refreezing during the winter. In Antarctica, sea ice reaches its minimum extent in late February or early March, marking the end of the Southern Hemisphere’s summer, and reaches its maximum extent in September as winter ends.

19 Antarctica’s ozone hole approaches record size

The annual occurrence of the ozone hole over Antarctica  has expanded significantly this year,   reaching nearly three times the size of Brazil ,  according to satellite data from the  European Union  ‘s Earth observation program  Copernicus . Satellite imagery taken on September 16 showed that the ozone hole over Antarctica had reached a size of approximately 26 million square kilometers. This is an astonishing expansion, making it one of the largest ozone holes on record. The size of the ozone hole fluctuates between August and October, with maximum depletion typically occurring from mid-September to mid-October.

21 Kenya’s Kiptum breaks marathon world record

Kenya  ‘s  Kelvin Kiptom  broke the men’s world record  at  the Chicago Marathon  on Sunday   by clocking  just two hours and 35 seconds . He broke the previous record set by Eliud Kipchoge at the 2022 Berlin Marathon. While Kiptum’s record-breaking run grabbed the headlines, in the women’s category, Netherlands sensation Sifan Hassan grabbed everyone’s attention. The 30-year-old Ethiopian-born runner won the Chicago Marathon women’s title in an unofficial time of two hours, 13 minutes and 44 seconds. This remarkable performance not only secured his victory but also set a new course record.

22 World Mental Health Day to raise awareness about mental health

World Mental Health Day  is celebrated  every year  on 10 October  to raise awareness about  mental health and promote positive change. This year’s theme is ‘ Mental Health is a Universal Human Right’. It aims to improve knowledge and advance action that protects mental health for all as a universal human right. In 1992, the World Foundation for Mental Health, led by Richard Hunter, suggested celebrating October 10 as ‘World Mental Health Day’. The first World Mental Health Day was celebrated in 1994 under the theme ‘Improving the quality of mental health services around the world’.

23 British film maker Terence Davis dies at the age of 77

British  filmmaker Terence Davies  has passed away. He breathed his last at the age of 77. He was famous for some impressive and lyrical films. After making several short films, Terence Davis made his feature debut as a writer-director in 1988 with ‘Distant Voices, Still Lives’, a collage of films filled with poverty and violence created by music and film magic. Childhood was depicted. The film won the Cannes International Critics Award in 1988 and was voted the ninth best film of the last 25 years by British film critics in 2002. Davis made another autobiographical film ‘The Long Day Closes’ in 1992.
