1.New 12-sided British pound coin enters circulation :-

A new 12-sided British pound coin is entering circulation amid concern that the round pound was too easy to counterfeit.

The new coin introduced on Tuesday is intended to be the most secure in the world, featuring a hologram that changes from the pound symbol to the numeral one. It also has micro-lettering and milled edges.

2.Messi banned for four Argentina games :-

Barcelona star Lionel Messi was suspended for four Argentina matches by FIFA on Tuesday for swearing at an assistant referee.

3.Stale food served in Rajdhani leads to protest :-

A section of passengers of the train first agitated at Asansol station this morning as the train was travelling from New Delhi to Sealdah, claiming that they had been served stale food for dinner last night, leading to illness of a few passengers.

4.Uber pulls out of Denmark citing tougher cab standards :-

The Danish branch of the ride-sharing service Uber said on Tuesday that it was shutting down its services in Denmark due to a proposed law that toughens standards for cabs.

5.Death during rail promotion of ‘Raees’: summons sent to SRK, Excel Entertainment :-

Actor Shah Rukh Khan and co-producer of his movie “Raees”, Excel Entertainment, have been asked to record their statements in connection with the death of a man at the Vadodara railway station during the promotional tour of the film.

6.Akhilesh elected leader of SP Legislature party :-

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav was, on Tuesday, unanimously elected as the leader of SP Legislature party.

The decision was taken at a meeting of SP legislators, where party veterans Azam Khan and Shivpal Singh Yadav were conspicuous by their absence.

7.Donald Trump looks forward to hosting PM Narendra Modi in Washington later this year: White House :-

The White House, in a statement on Tuesday, stated that the US President Donald Trump has extended invitation to PM Narendra Modi to visit Washington later this year. The two leaders talked on the phone on Monday after Trump dialed PM Modi to congratulate him for the recent Assembly elections win.

8.Want to play Pak in Dubai, need your OK: BCCI to Govt. :-

India could play Pakistan in Dubai later this year if the government gives the go-ahead to the Indian cricket board. The BCCI has written to the Home Ministry, seeking permission to play Pakistan to complete their obligations under the Future Tours & Programme (FTP) agreement which was inked in 2014.

9.Laptop ban in flight cabins: Nearly 11 lakh US-bound Indian passengers to be hit :-

Nearly half of 22.21 lakh passengers traveling from India to the US via transit flights in cities of Middle East, Europe and North Asia will be affected by the Donald Trump administration’s ban on carriage of laptops and any other electronic devices larger than a smartphone in cabin baggage on flights from 10 airports in Middle East and Africa.

10.Paris climate deal architect looks to India :-

Lamenting the lack of enthusiasm from the US administration on climate change, former French Prime Minister Laurent Fabius has urged the rest of the world to step up action to compensate for the expected “four years of inaction” in the US.
