1. Winners of Sahitya Akademi Award 2020 were announced
The National Academy of Letters has announced the winners of the Sahitya Akademi Award 2020 on March 12, 2021 . These names were announced during the inauguration of the annual ” Festival of Letters ” event. The award will be given to 20 writers including politician-writer M. Veerappa Moily , poet Arundhati Subramaniam . Subramaniam has won this award in English for his collection of poems titled ” When God is a Traveler “. Veerappa Moily in the Kannada language ” Shri Bahubali Ahimsa DigvijayamIs named for the epic called “. The list consists of seven books of poetry, five short stories, four novels, two plays and one memoir and one epic poem in 20 Indian languages. The awards for Nepali, Malayalam, Odia and Rajasthani languages will be announced later. In the poetry category, this award was given by Harish Meenakshi (Gujarati), R.S. Bhaskar (Konkani), Anamika (Hindi), Irungbaum Deven (Manipuri), Nikhileshwar (Telugu) and Roopchand Hansda (Santhali). In the category of novels, this award will be given to Imayyam (Tamil), Nand Khare (Marathi), Mahesh Chandra Sharma Gautam (Sanskrit) and Hussain ul Haq. While Apoorva Kumar Saikia (Assamese), Hiday Kaul Bharti (Kashmiri), Dharnidhar Owerri (Bodo), Gurdev Singh Rupana (Punjab) and Kamakant Jha (Maithili) will be given the award for short story. It is a literary honor in India. It is provided by Sahitya Akademi. The award is given to the most outstanding books of literary merit, which are published in any of the 24 major Indian languages, including Hindi, English and the other 22 languages of the Eighth Schedule to the Constitution. The winner of the award is awarded a copper plaque, a shawl and an amount of Rs 1,00,000.
- Union Education Minister announces linking of OTPRMS certificates with DigiLocker with complete exemption from registration fee.
In order to ensure uninterrupted access to the verified Online Teacher Pupil Registration Management System ( OTPRMS ) certificate, the Union Education Minister, Mr. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ announced that the Ministry of Education has decided to link the certificates to DigiLocker . The certificates to be issued will be automatically transferred to Digilocker and the website of National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) https://ncte.gov.in/website/DigiLocker.aspx and Digilocker https://digilocker.gov.in/ They can be seen by visiting. The DigiLocker app can be downloaded on Android phones and iPhones.

He inaugurated the Center for Advanced Radiation Shielding and Geopolymeric Materials and an Analytical High Resolution Transmission Electron Microscope Laboratory on 13 March 2021 during his visit to AMPRI , a Bhopal- based CSIR component laboratory .
- Center announced new scheme for tourist vehicle operators to promote tourism in the country
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has announced a new scheme for tourist vehicle operators . Under this scheme, any tourist vehicle operator can apply online for a permit from the All India Tourist Authority. These permits will be issued after the submission of the necessary documents and fees. These rules will come into effect from 1st April. All existing permits will remain in force during their validity. With the new permit regulations coming into force, tourism in the states will get a boost.
- Indian Railways launches 120-day advance booking of parcels
Indian Railways has parcel of advance booking of 120 days is introduced. The Ministry of Railways has said that a logistic solution has been made available for small consignments over a vast network of stations. Small businessmen and traders are making full use of these services to transport their goods. Another feature of this arrangement is that barcoding will be done on each batch to monitor the updation of parcel status of packages through the GPRS network. The facility of sending SMS about every stage from booking, loading, unloading to delivery of the parcel on the mobile given by the sender and parcel recipient at the time of railway booking is also provided.
- 119 posts of General Nursing Midwifery created in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir , the Administrative Council has appointed various Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery-ANMs. And has approved the proposal of the Department of Health and Medical Education of the state to create 119 posts in relation to General Nursing Midwifery-GNM and other nursing colleges . This approval was given in the council meeting chaired by Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha.

Garbine Muguruza ended a two-year title drought by defeating Barbara Krejcikova in straight sets in the final of the Dubai Tennis Championships . Spain’s former number one player and ninth seed Muguruza beat Czech Republic doubles specialist 7-6, 6 Defeated -3. This is Muguruza’s first title win since winning the title in Monterrey in April 2019. However, this is the eighth singles title of Spanish player Muguruza’s career, including two Grand Slam titles in 2016 as Roland Garren and Wimbledon in 2017.
- Bhawani Devi became the first Indian swordsman to qualify for the Olympics.
CA Bhavani Devi of Tamil Nadu became the first Indian swordsman to qualify for these games by acquiring tickets for this year’s Tokyo Olympics . Bhavani achieved Olympic qualification based on Adjusted Official Ranking (AOR). There were two places for the Asia-Oceania region as of April 5, 2021, based on world rankings. Bhavani is currently ranked 45 and will be able to achieve one position based on the rankings.
