1. DRDO today released the first batch of anti-kovid drug 2DOXY D-Glucose.
The first batch of the two-deoxy-de-glucos drug for Kovid patients was released today. It was released by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Health and Family Welfare Minister Harsh Vardhan . Defense Research and Development Organization , Dr. Reddy’s LabTogether with this drug is developed. The Controller General of India had recently approved the emergency use of this medicine. Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences, a laboratory of the Defense Research and Development Organization, has developed two-DG drugs in collaboration with Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories. Results of clinical trials have found that this drug helps in the early recovery of patients admitted to hospitals and reduces dependence on supplemental oxygen. The Controller General of India has approved the use of it as an adjunctive therapy in the treatment of moderate to severe grade Kovid patients. Being in the form of generic medicine and glucose, it can be easily produced and available in the country.
