1 Egypt gave its highest honor to Prime Minister Modi

Prime Minister  Narendra Modi  held   bilateral talks  with  Egyptian  President  Abdel Fattah El Sisi in Cairo . The two leaders discussed ways to further strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries, including in trade and investment, defense and security, renewable energy, culture and people-to-people contacts. The two leaders reviewed India-Egypt relations in their entirety and agreed to further enhance economic and cultural ties. Mr. Sisi   presented the Order of the Nile, Egypt’s highest civilian honour, to Mr. Modi.  Prime Minister of Egypt Mustafa Medbouli to accompany Shri Modi on his visit to the Pyramids  thanked The two leaders discussed the cultural history of the two countries and ways to enhance ties in the times to come. Earlier, the Prime Minister  visited the Heliopolis Commonwealth War Memorial  and paid homage to the 4,300 brave Indian soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice in Egypt and Aden during World War I. Mr Modi   also visited the Al Hakim Mosque , where he was received by Dr. Mostafa Waziri, Egypt’s Minister of Tourism and Heritage. The Prime Minister   also met leaders of the Bohra community . The Bohra community has played an active role in maintaining this Fatimid-era Shia mosque and reflects the strong public relations between India and Egypt.

2 India moves up 8 places to 127th position in WEF Global Gender Gap Report

 In terms of  gender equality, India  has reached  127th position out of 146 countries . According to the World Economic Forum’s (WEF)  annual Gender Gap Report, 2023, India’s position has improved eight places compared to last year. The WEF in its report for 2022 ranked India at 135 out of 146 in the Global Gender Gap Index. The country has achieved equality in enrollment at all levels of education. India has bridged its 64.3 per cent gender gap. Pakistan ranks 142nd, Bangladesh 59th, China 107th, Nepal 116th, Sri Lanka 115th and Bhutan 103rd in this index. Iceland  most gender equal country for 14th year in a row  remains

3 Smart City Mission project completes eight years

The Smart City Mission project  has   completed eight years  on  25 June . Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri  has appreciated the mission on this occasion  . In a tweet, while congratulating the people, he said that this flagship project of the Prime Minister worth one lakh 80 thousand crores is important for the urban area. He said that more than five thousand eight hundred projects which have been completed so far have changed the landscape of urban areas and have made life easier for the citizens of the country. Prime Minister  Narendra Modi had  started the Smart City Mission  . The objective of this mission is to promote such facilities and infrastructure in the cities that provide quality life to the citizens and provide them a clean and better environment. 25 June 2015 

4 Austria’s Vienna Best To Live In The World: Global Liveability Index 2023 Report

Vienna, the capital of  Austria   , is  the best city to live  in this year  . The Economist Intelligence Unit has released a data titled  ‘ Global Liveability Index 2023 ‘, which lists the best and worst cities to live in. The report attributes Vienna’s success to an exceptional combination of stability, rich culture and entertainment, reliable infrastructure, exemplary education and healthcare. No Indian city figures in the top 10 cities. Vienna is the best city to live in on the list, while  Denmark  ‘s capital  Copenhagen  is at number two. List   of  Melbourne in Australia Has got the third and Sydney fourth place, while Canada’s Vancouver is at the fifth position. The top 10 cities include maximum three cities in Canada, two each in Australia and Switzerland.

5 Journalist A.K. Bhattacharya wrote a new book titled “India’s Finance Ministers”.

Senior journalist  Ashok Kumar Bhattacharya (AK Bhattacharya) has written a new book titled   “ India’s Finance Ministers: From Independence to Emergency (1947-1977) ”, which throws light on the role of India’s finance ministers, who led the country in the first 30 years after independence. Over the years (from 1947 to 1977)  shaped India’s economy. The book is published by Penguin Business which is an imprint of Penguin Random House.

6 Alibaba names Eddie Wu as new CEO

Eddie Wu has been appointed as  the new CEO and  Joseph Tsai  as the executive chairman  by  the Chinese multinational technology company  Alibaba Group . Eddie Wu is one of the co-founders of Alibaba and currently serves as the chairman of Taobao and Tmall Group. This leadership change is the second major change for Alibaba in recent years after Jack Ma stepped down in 2019.

7 Joha Rice – Best Nutraceutical in Diabetes Management

Fragrant- Joha rice  grown in the North East region of India is effective in lowering blood glucose and preventing the onset of diabetes  and hence is an excellent and effective nutraceutical in diabetes management. Joha is a short grain winter rice known for its significant aroma and remarkable taste. A related traditional claim is that consumers of joha rice have a lower incidence of diabetes and cardiovascular diseases, but these needed to be scientifically verified. In that direction,  scientists from the Institute for Advanced Study in Science and Technology (IASST)  , an autonomous institute of  the Department of Science and Technology  , explored the nutraceutical properties of Fragrant Joha rice. Rajlakshmi Devi  by  Paramita Chowdhary explored the nutraceutical properties of Fragrant Joha rice in his research with Through in vitro laboratory analysis they   detected two unsaturated fatty acids namely linoleic acid (omega-6) and linolenic (omega-3) acid. This essential fatty acid (which humans cannot produce) may help maintain a variety of physiological conditions. Omega-3 fatty acids protect against many metabolic diseases such as diabetes, heart diseases and cancer. Zoha has also been shown to be effective in lowering blood glucose and preventing the onset of diabetes in diabetic infected rats.

8 REC Limited to provide financial assistance of Rs 3,045 crore to Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited

Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) Limited, a  Maharatna public sector company under  the Union Ministry of Power,  has  awarded Rs 3,045 crore to  Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL)   for setting up and development of metro lines under  Phase-II project of Bengaluru Metro. It has been decided to provide financial assistance of Rs. The decision to extend the assistance was taken at the REC’s board meeting on June 24, 2023 at Bengaluru. The board approved the proposal of Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited. Phase-II project of Namma Metro consists of extension of existing two corridors of Phase-I, namely East-West corridor and North-South corridor and 2 new lines, namely one R.V. Road to Bommasandra and the other from Kalena Agrahara to Nagawara. These lines will pass through some of the densest and high traffic areas of the city.

9 Titan submarine destroyed in ‘catastrophic implosion’

 The wreckage of  the Titan submarine  has been found in the Atlantic Ocean . The submarine went to show the wreckage of the Titanic ship carrying four tourists including the pilot on the evening of June 18   , but went missing after 1:45 hours. All the five people present in the submarine have died.  These include British businessman Hamish Harding, French diver Paul-Henri, Pakistani-British businessman Shahzada Dawood, his son Sulaiman and  Oceangate Company CEO Stockton Rush. submarine  catastrophic implosion Became a victim of Catastrophic implosion. Catastrophic implosion is the opposite of an explosion, in which an object collapses in on itself and shatters into smaller pieces under extreme external pressure. The submarine was in deep sea, where the pressure was very high. In such a situation, even a small structural defect in the submarine can cause destruction.

10 Himachal partners with NDDB to set up  milk processing units

The Himachal Pradesh  government   will set up a  state-of-the-art  milk processing plant  at  Dagwar  in  Kangra district of the state at a cost of Rs 250 crore . The milk processing plant  will be set up in collaboration with the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB)  and NDDB’s assistance will be taken from its marketing to operations. The ambitious project, with an estimated cost of Rs 250 crore, aims to revolutionize milk production and processing in the region. The venture is expected to bring substantial economic and social benefits to the State besides enhancing its position in the dairy sector.

11 China signs pact with Pakistan to set up nuclear power plant

China  signed a massive $4.8 billion deal  to set up a  1,200 MW nuclear power plant  with   cash-strapped  Pakistan . Prime Minister  Shehbaz Sharif  signed the agreement under which Beijing   will build the  1,200 MW  Chashma-V (Chashma-V) nuclear plant at Chashma  in  Punjab’s Mianwali district .

12 Lloyds Banking Group announces setting up of Tech Center in Hyderabad

Lloyds Banking Group,  one   of the leading financial services organizations in  the UK  , has announced its plans to set up a technology center in Hyderabad , India  . The center aims to enhance the digital capabilities of the group. Will be operational by the end of 2023. Lloyds Banking Group includes well-known brands such as Lloyds Bank, Halifax and Bank of Scotland.

13 TCS bags $1.9 billion deal to digitally transform UK’s National Employment Savings Trust

IT services giant  Tata Consultancy Services (TCS)  has announced a significant expansion of its partnership with the  UK  ‘s  National Employment Savings Trust (NEST)  , the country’s largest workplace pension scheme  . The £840 million ($1.1 billion) deal aims to  digitally transform NEST’s administration services over an initial 10-year term, providing an enhanced experience for members. If   extended over  the full 18-year term, the total maximum estimated value of the contract  would reach £1.5 billion ($1.9 billion) .

14 RBI imposes penalty on Axis Bank, J&K Bank and Bank of Maharashtra

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI)  has taken a stern step against three big banks  for violating norms  . The central bank has imposed heavy penalty on these banks under this. Among the three banks on which RBI has imposed penalty,  Jammu and Kashmir Bank (J&K Bank)Bank of Maharashtra (Bank of Maharashtra)  and  Axis Bank (Axis Bank) name is included. A monetary penalty of Rs 2.5 crore has been imposed on Jammu and Kashmir Bank for non-compliance of certain directions issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). A monetary penalty of Rs 30 lakh has been imposed by the RBI on Axis Bank for non-compliance with certain provisions of the RBI directions on income recognition, asset classification and prudential norms on provisioning relating to advance – credit card accounts. Taking action against Bank of Maharashtra, RBI has imposed a fine of Rs 1.45 crore. Penalty imposed for non-compliance of loan and deposit rules.

15 Russia’s private military company Wagner’s rebellion ends, settlement reached in the mediation of the President of Belarus

Yevgeny Prigozhin  , head of  Russia  ‘s private military company  Wagner  , has ordered  his troops to go to neighboring  Belarus as part of an agreement with the government to reduce tensions. Russian President’s Office – Kremlin  spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced that Yevgeny Prigozhin would not be prosecuted for armed insurrection when Wagner troops moved to Belarus, and that soldiers involved in the mutiny would not face trial. The spokesman said Wagner fighters who did not join the insurgency would be hired by the Ministry of Defense on contract. Russia  started military operations against Ukraine 16 months ago  .  Bakhmut, the eastern city of Ukraine Wagner’s troops played a major role in the capture. The longest and bloodiest conflict took place in this area.

16 In Table Tennis, Indian women’s doubles pair of Sutirtha and Ayhika won the WTT Contender tournament in Tunis.

Indian women’s doubles pair  of  Sutirtha Mukherjee  and  Ayahika Mukherjee  defeated  Japanese pair  of   Miyu  Kihara and Miwa Harimoto  to clinch the World Table Tennis Contenders title  in  Tunis . In the final, the Indian pair won 3-1 (11-5, 11-6, 5-11, 13-11). This is the first WTT Contender title of the year for the Indian pair. The pair of Sutirtha and Ayhika defeated the Korean pair of Shin Yubin and Jeon Jihee 3-2 (7-11, 11-9, 11-9, 7-11, 11-9) in the semi-finals. Meanwhile,   the Indian  mixed doubles pair of Manika Batra and G Sathiyan  as well as  Manav Vikas Thakkar and Manush Utpal Bhai Shah The men ‘s  doubles  pair has also faced defeat in the semi-final match.

17 Cristiano Ronaldo first player to play 200 matches in international football

Cristiano Ronaldo  set   a Guinness World Record  by achieving  200 international caps  for  Portugal . He   reached the milestone during Portugal’s Euro 2024 qualifier  against  Iceland .  Ronaldo is now  the most capped player in international football . The Guinness Book of Records recognized his achievement and presented him with a certificate.  Ronaldo is also the all-time top goalscorer in international football, with 122 goals in 200 games . A cap is awarded to players who make official appearances for their national team in international football.

18 Sailors Day 2023

Sailor’s Day  is a special day dedicated to all those who work closely with salt water, including the Coast Guard, Navy, fishermen, marine biologists and cruise ship captains. It commemorates the first recorded sea voyage around 3200 BC,   sponsored by the  Egyptian pharaoh Sneferu , who was known to have built many pyramids.  This annual event, celebrated on 25 June, is to acknowledge the important role played by seafarers in international trade, the global economy and society. Furthermore, it emphasizes their important efforts in protecting the marine environment. This year’s Seafarers’ Day theme is “ MARPOL at 50 – Our commitment goes on ”. The 2023 campaign hashtag is #OceansWorthProtecting.

19 World Hydrography Day 2023

World Hydrographic Day (WHD)  is observed  across the world on 21 June to raise awareness of the importance of hydrography and its key role in improving the knowledge of the seas   and  oceans . The day also aims to publicize the work of hydrographers around the world. The theme of this year’s World Hydrography Day is “ Hydrography – Underpinning the Digital Twin of the Ocean .” Is. The International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) approved and implemented World Hydrography Day as an annual celebration in 2005. The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) officially recognized the day on 29 November 2005 through resolution A/RES/60/30 “The Law of the Ocean and the Sea”.
