1.Maldives Supreme Court canceled its earlier decision to release opposition leaders :-

The Supreme Court of Maldives has canceled its earlier decision to release nine opposition leaders. Only a few hours before the fresh verdict was exposed, the police had arrested the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and another judge. The remaining three judges of the Supreme Court issued the statement and said that in view of President’s concern, the court has canceled its earlier decision. Apart from this, the decision to keep the Supreme Court separate from the purview of the judicial services commission has also been canceled. On the other hand, the President of the Maldives has said that the court had made the government inactive through many of its orders.

 

2.External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, who arrived in Saudi Arabia on a three-day visit, in the cultural festival ‘Jan Dhariyah’ :-

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj ,the prestigious National Heritage and Cultural Festival in Saudi Arabia ‘ Jndriyah ‘ would include. 3.Successful test of ballistic missile Agni-1 with low-range nuclear capability :-

The 15- meter long fire- 1 missile has a thousand kilograms of payload capacity of about 12 tonnes and is capable of carrying nuclear war materials. This missile has already been included in the Armed Forces.

 

4.26 terrorists killed in Afghanistan, big air strikes in Afghanistan :-

5.Special Representative for Jammu and Kashmir, Central Government visited Boundary Poonch District :-

Special Representative for Jammu and Kashmir of the Central Government, Dineshwar Sharma visited the border Poonch district. 6.Lord Guwahati will inaugurate the 88th Maha-Mastakabhishek Festival, President Kovind :-

President Ramnath Kovind today will commence the 88th Maha-Mastakabhishek festival of Lord Bahubali in Shravanabelagola in Hassan district of Karnataka. Mahamastakabhishek occurs once in twelve years. This place is the main pilgrimage site of the Jain community. Lakhs of pilgrims come here for worship every year. Here is a 57-foot statue of Lord Bahubali, built with the same stone. Mahamastakabhishek festival will run till February 26.

 

7.UK and US call on all countries to increase pressure on North Korea :-

US President Donald Trump and UK Prime Minister Terreza May urged all responsible nations to increase pressure on North Korea so that they start walking on the path of disarmament. The White House said that both the leaders spoke on the phone. During this time, I told Trump about his recent visit to China. 8.Destruction, of a devastating earthquake, Taiwan :-

At least two people were killed and 219 people were injured in the tremendous earthquake that hit Taiwan’s coastal city of Huilain. Taiwanese President Sai Ing Wen toured the affected areas this morning and reviewed the relief and rescue operations. A statement issued by the government said that about 150 people have been missing since the earthquake.
