  1. ICICI Bank launches instant credit cards :-

The country’s largest private sector lender, ICICI Bank launched instant credit cards enabling its savings account customers to get a credit card instantly, in a completely digital and paperless manner.

Currently, this facility to apply for a credit card in–a-flash is available through the Bank’s internet banking platform. It will also be available shortly on iMobile, the Bank’s mobile banking application.

 

2.Forbes list continues, 100 innovative companies include HUL, Asian Paints and Bharti Airtel :-

The list of 100 most innovative companies in the world released by Forbes includes three Indian companies. Their names are Hindustan Unilever, Asian Paints and Bharti Airtel. The first place in this list is of Salesforce.com.

The company has overtaken Tesla Motors. However, Hindustan Unilever has moved from 7th to 31st and Asian Paints from 18th to 8th rank from last year. Bharti Airtel is ranked 78th in this list.

In the list of the year 2016, the country’s largest IT company was TCS (Tata Consultancy Services), Sunpharma and Larsen & Toubro, but this year, these companies could not make their mark in the list. This has reduced the number of total Indian companies from five to three in the list.

 

3.IDFC Bank partners with Zeta for e-payments solution :-

For promoting an e – payments solution, private lender IDFC Bank has partnered with digital payments brand Zeta.

The venture was initiated to launch ‘IDFC Bank Benefits’-a payment solution for the corporate that digitally record their employee spends and claims, making the documentation convenient and paperless.

The digital solution comprises an IDFC Bank Benefits Card and Zeta app which puts together allowances and reimbursements ensured by an employer into one preloaded card.

 

4.In the case of growth, ahead of China, Delhi tops in Asian cities :-

In the case of growth in Asian cities, Delhi can go the forefront. In the year 2021, the economy of Delhi will increase by almost 50 percent in 2016. Also, the growth of other cities of India is also much better than other Asian cities. This information has come out through a recent study.

In what was said in the study- Oxford Economy has released a list of Asia’s 30 most emerging cities. According to this, economic and business growth is going to be the highest in Asia in Delhi city of India.

It further states that for the next five years, Asian cities will be dominated by Asian cities. In this list, the national capital Delhi has been given the title of emerging city of Asia.

 

5.Chenai and Shreyasi win mixed team trap bronze :-

Kynan Chenai and Shreyasi Singh of India have won bronze in mixed team trap event in Asian Shotgun Shooting Championship in Astana, Kazakhstan.

The Indian pair defeated Lebanan shooters 40-38. It is India’s 4th medal in the Championship.

 

6.Nepali President, PM to discuss Sushma, take part in BIMSTEC meeting today :-

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj met Nepalese President Bidia Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Thursday. During this, he discussed the measures to increase bilateral cooperation in areas like infrastructure, energy and connectivity.

Sushma Swaraj is on a two-day visit to Nepal to participate in the 15th ‘Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation’ (BIMSTEC) meeting.

This is the first meeting of both leaders after Deuba assumed the power of Nepal in June. At this meeting, the two leaders expressed their commitment to further strengthening friendly relations. Sushma said that she is eagerly waiting for Deuba’s visit to India.

 

7.Brad Haddin becomes Australia’s new fielding coach :-

Sydney Former Australia wicket-keeper Brad Haddin has now been appointed the team’s new fielding coach. Haddin will continue to hold his post until 2019. Cricket Australia announced it.

Brad Haddin has been given this responsibility in place of former cricketer Greg Bellweight. Bellevette has now been associated with the South Australian Cricket Association.

Haddin, 39, has been the coach of the Australia A team earlier, as well as he was the assistant coach of the team during the Australian New Zealand tour earlier this year.

 

8.1000 Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) Kendras to be opened in Uttar Pradesh  :-

Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways, Shipping and Chemicals and Fertilizers, Shri Mansukh Lal Mandviya, presided over the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony between the Union Government and the State Government of Uttar Pradesh for opening 1000 Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) Kendras in the State.

 

9.World Bank Aid for cleaning of Ganga River :-

World Bank has sanctioned a loan of US $ 1 billion for funding Institutional Development and for construction of priority infrastructure projects for municipal waste water treatment and solid waste treatment on the main stem of Ganga in the five Ganga basin states of Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar and West Bengal.

Government of India has withdrawn a cumulative amount of US $ 91.26 million (Rs. 550.48 crore) under this loan till date.
