India Election Commission launches Mobile App “Civilized” to enable citizens to report violation of Model Code of Conduct  :-

Chief Election Commissioner Shri O.P. Rawat launched “Civilized” app on July 3, 2018 to enable the citizens to report violations of Model Code of conduct during elections with Election Commissioner Mr. Sunil Arora and Mr. Ashok Lavasa during the election.

The “seismic” app is easy to operate in Android and Android applications. This app will be operational at the same place where the election has been announced. But, the beta version of the app will be available to people and election personnel, so that they can become familiar with its features and try to send dummy data. On successful completion of the test, it will be provided publicly for use by the public. This availability will be from the forthcoming assembly elections of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram and Rajasthan. During the assembly elections of four states, the practical use of the app will work as a pilot effort before doing extensive during the next Lok Sabha election.

 

2.KVIC launches e-marketing system :-

 

Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) launched its own internally developed and single-umbrella e-marketing system ‘ Khadi Institute Management and Information System (Kimis) ‘ in New Delhi today. The system or system can be accessed from anywhere in the country for purchase and sale of Khadi and Village Industries products.

Mr. Vinay Kumar Saxena, Chairman, KVIC inaugurated the ‘Kimis’ and said that there is a demand for developing single large-scale billing software internally for purchase and sale, which can be closely monitored round the clock from anywhere in the country.

 

3.Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment organized ‘National Workshop for Skills Development for Divas’ :-

The Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment , today organized a ‘National Workshop on Skills Development for Divyanjonon’. This one-day workshop was organized to provide platform to employers and all stakeholders with policy makers.

In his inauguration speech Mr. Thavarchand Gehlot said that employment is the main capital of empowerment. Last year, the Divyanjan rights Act, 2016, was implemented, with the objective of preparing plans to promote the skill development of the Divas so that opportunities for employment could increase for the devotees.

Under 2016, 75640 diyans have been trained under NAP, and this year, 90,000 Divisions have been targeted to impart skill training. Skill development programs have been implemented through its National Institutes and all Regional Centers under them and National Handicraft Finance and Development Corporation (NHFDC) for the Divisions.

 

4.Tejas begins operation from Sulur Air Force Station :-

Operation of the Swadesman Squadron Tejas formally started from the Air Force station of Sulur near Coimbatore. An official release said that with the deployment of Tejas, the number 45 Squadron ‘Flying Daggers’ will play the role of security for national skies, while 45 squadrons will be involved in aircrow training and Group Captain S Dhankar will operate the aircraft. And maintenance will play responsibilities.

Tejas HAL is the first advanced fly-by-wire fighter aircraft to design, develop and manufacture in India by Bengaluru. It is equipped with satellite navigation system. There is also a digital computer-based attack system and autopilot mode in the aircraft and it can destroy the missiles in the air by air, carry bombs and guided ammunition.

 

5.Japan to buy Lockheed’s advanced radar for missile defense system :-

Japan has selected the advanced radar of Lockheed Martin Corp for its billions of dollars missile defense system. An official of the Japanese Ministry of Defense informed the matter on Tuesday on the condition of concealment.

Japan plans to buy two Aegis Ashore batteries, which it wants to use in 2023 to upgrade its missile defense system. Japan is planning to do so in view of the growing threat from North Korea and China.

It is worth noting that a version of the Raytheon company’s SPY-6 and Lockheed Martin Long Range Discrimination Radar (LRDR) was introduced for the radar purchase last week.

 

6.Demonstrations across the country in protest of Wal-Mart Flipkart deal :-

On Monday, around 10 lakh small businessmen have been involved in the demonstration of protest demonstration in one thousand places across the country against the acquisition deal between the world’s largest retailer Wal-Mart and Indian e-commerce company Flipkart.

The protesters led by the Confederation of All India Traders (CAT) have demanded the government cancel the deal. About 1000 locations were organized in all the states of the country, in which about 10 lakh offline and online traders joined the protest and called the deal as fatal to the country’s retail business and economy.

 

7.India A won the tri-series titles :-

 

On the eve of the unbeaten 64 of young wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant, India A defeated England A by five wickets in the final on Monday to win the triangular one-day series.

The Indian team, after stopping England for 264 on nine wickets, took the title by scoring 267 runs in 5 wickets in 48.2 overs. Pant, who smashed his bat in the IPL, played an unbeaten 64-run knock against the opponent in 62 balls with eight fours and a six.

 

8.Iran will talk to five powerful nations on nuclear deal in Vienna :-

Iran will hold talks with five powerful nations in Vienna on Friday on this nuclear agreement in 2015. This is the first talk of these countries after the withdrawal of this nuclear deal from the US.

Iran had signed this agreement three years ago in Vienna with the United States, Britain, Russia, France, China and Germany. Two months ago, US President Donald Trump declared that the deal was defective, and it was announced. Since then, there has been a crisis of crisis on the agreement. The rest of the countries have promised to stay with the agreement though.

 

9.Ranking of states will be commissioned by the Commission on the condition of district hospital and school education :-

In which state are the district hospitals better and in which the poor? In which state the quality of school education is excellent and in which case is bad? Now it will be easy to know. The Policy Commission is going to release new index soon, which will show that where your state stands on two important parameters of development like education and health.

Policy Commission CEO Amitabh Kant said that three indicators have been released till now to show the performance of the states on different indicators of development. In the coming time, the Commission is going to release four new indexes.

 

10.The English team, unable to face India, lost by 8 wickets in the first T20 :-

In the first match of the three T20 series between India and England, India defeated the hosts by 8 wickets. Batting first in this match, the England team scored 159 for 8 wickets in 20 overs in which the Indian team achieved the target by losing 2 wickets in 18.2 overs. India’s K. Rahul Rahul scored an unbeaten 101 and Rohit Sharma scored 32 runs. Lokesh Rahul and Kuldeep Yadav have been a major contributor to India’s victory. Kuldeep was adjudged Man of the Match for his fantastic bowling. With this victory, India has made a 1-0 lead in England in the three T20 series.
