A systematic voter education and electoral participation program – SVEEP was organized at Mahadevapura, Bengaluru in association with the Outer Ring Road Companies Association . Thushar Girinath, Chief Commissioner of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike said that democracy can be strengthened by greater participation in elections. He expressed hope that Bengaluru would register a better turnout in the upcoming assembly elections. 4. The government revised the rates of treatment fee through CGHS
The government has revised the rates of consultation fees and ICU charges for the beneficiaries of the Central Government Health Scheme – CGHS, for treatment in empaneled private hospitals. Now the OPD fee has been increased from Rs 150 to Rs 350, while the IPD consultation fee has been increased from Rs 300 to Rs 350. The ICU fee has been fixed at Rs five thousand four hundred.

7. India will remain the world’s fastest growing economy
The International Monetary Fund has projected India to remain the fastest growing large economy in the world . But India’s GDP growth rate for the financial year 2023-24 is reduced by twenty basis points to five point nine percent estimated to live. This is lower than the earlier announced estimate of 6.4 per cent by the Reserve Bank. The International Monetary Fund has projected India’s retail inflation to be 4.9 per cent in FY2024 and 4.4 per cent in FY2025. According to the released data of the World Economic Outlook, India will remain the fastest growing economy in the world, despite the reduction in the economic growth rate in the current financial year as compared to 6.8 percent in 2022. The International Monetary Fund, in its annual report, projected the world economy to grow at 2.8 per cent in fiscal year 2023 and 3 per cent in 2024, which is ten basis points lower than the forecast announced in January.

12. Government releases pre-draft of National Curriculum Framework for schools
Ministry of Education releases pre-draft version of National Curriculum Framework for School Education released and has sought feedback from various stakeholders including students, parents, teachers, teacher educators, experts, scholars and professionals. The National Curriculum Framework (NCF) is a broad guideline that serves as a framework for school education in India. The NCF is updated periodically to reflect student and societal needs. The new draft NCF proposes significant changes to the school day and academic year. According to the draft, students have to attend school for five and a half days a week and study for half a day on Saturdays. It recommends that class duration should be 40 minutes for elementary and middle school stages and 50 minutes for class 9 and onwards. The academic year shall consist of 180 school days (34 weeks) at all stages of education.
13. KSEB to get German loan of Rs 919 crore for Green Energy Corridor project
The Kerala State Electricity Board will receive a loan of Rs 919 crore from the German federal government -owned KfW development bank to set up green power lines . Apart from this, the central government will provide financial assistance of Rs 139 crore for this . The electricity board will raise the remaining Rs 399 crore required for the Green Energy Corridor project . The Union cabinet has approved the state government and the electricity board to enter into a contract with the German bank. The loan will be available at an interest rate of 3 to 4 percent. An agreement worth Rs 1457 crore has already been signed between the Government of India and the KfW Development Bank for development in Kerala.
14. Russia sends equipment for Kudankulam nuclear power project
The Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project (KKNPP) is India’s largest nuclear power plant located in Kudankulam, Tamil Nadu . The plant was built in collaboration with Russia ‘s Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation and was constructed in two phases. The first phase included the construction of Units 1 and 2, which began power generation on 31 December 2014. The second phase involves the construction of four additional reactors, which are currently under construction. Recently, a pressurizer for reactor 5 of this power plant by AEM-Technology Izhora Was delivered, which is part of Atomenergomash, the machine-building division of Rosatom. The pressurizer is an important component of a nuclear power plant that is responsible for creating and maintaining the pressure and coolant volume in the reactor. In the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project, the pressurizer plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of the plant.
15. Japan’s Foreign Security Assistance (OSA) Program
Japan announced its decision to provide financial aid to help the nation strengthen its defenses. The Overseas Security Assistance (OSA) program will be run independently of the Overseas Development Assistance (ODA) program , which funds civilian infrastructure. According to Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno, the OSA program aims to deepen security cooperation with the countries and create a desirable security environment for Japan. In a statement, the Ministry of External Affairs said that by enhancing their security and deterrence capabilities, specific projects would include radio equipment for maritime surveillance and satellite communications.
16. INS Vikrant gets old clock back

World’s first Jatayu Asian King Vulture Conservation and Breeding Center to preserve the fast disappearing species of vultures, Maharajganj, Uttar Pradesh was established in Jayati Conservation and Breeding Center has been established in Maharajganj district of Uttar Pradesh. This is the world’s first Jatayu Asian King Vulture Conservation Center. The work of Jatayu Conservation and Breeding Center Maharajganj has been completed. Soon this conservation and breeding center will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The Asiatic King Vulture is a rapidly disappearing species. It is protected under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972. This Act prohibits any person from willfully breaking, damaging, uprooting, collecting, selling or transferring any plant (living or dead) from a forest area or any such area as may be identified by the Central Government.Jatayu Giddha And the breeding center is an area of 1.5 hectares under the Gorakhpur forest area. It has been built at a cost of around Rs 15 crore.

20. Norway, Singapore gain momentum as FPI destinations in FY2023
According to data released by the National Securities Depository , Mauritius , considered a tax haven, witnessed the sharpest decline in foreign investment in Indian capital markets , while Norway and Singapore gained support in FY2022-23 ( FY2023). . The assets under custody (AUC) of Mauritius declined by nearly 42 per cent to Rs 6.66 lakh crore at the end of March 2023 from Rs 10.88 lakh crore a year ago. Experts believe that the renegotiation of the India-Mauritius tax treaty and greater checks on inflows have reduced the island nation’s appeal as a preferred destination for foreign capital flows into India. Norway and Singapore increase AUC during FY2023 respectively saw gains of 13 per cent and 5 per cent , when the benchmark S&P BSE Sensex and the National Stock Exchange Nifty indices were little changed. Singapore is the second largest destination for foreign portfolio investors (FPI) inflows after the US . Meanwhile, Mauritius’ ranking has dropped to 4 (from 2) at the end of 2021-22.

28. Bangladesh’s freedom fighter and public health activist Dr. Zafarullah Chowdhary passed away
Renowned freedom fighter and public health activist of Bangladesh Dr. Zafarullah Chowdhary passed away in Dhaka. He was 81 years old. Dr. Zafarullah Chowdhary established the Gonosthya Kendra in 1972 to provide affordable and quality treatment to poor people. Later it was expanded to seven hospitals and 50 sub-centres to provide health facilities to the people of Bangladesh. Dr. Zafarullah was awarded the Ramon Magsaysay Award in 1985 and the Right Livelihood Award in 1992 for his outstanding contribution to public health. Was honored with He is known as the messiah of the poor for his excellent work in providing health facilities to the poor. Dr. Zafarullah left his medical studies in England in the year 1971 and joined the Bangladesh Liberation Campaign. He established a large hospital near Melaghar in Tripura for the treatment of injured freedom fighters and refugees during the Bangladesh Liberation War. In 1977, he was awarded the Freedom Award, the highest civilian honor of Bangladesh.
