2 Hyderabad based CCMB collaborating with a global research group to develop algorithms for genetics
Hyderabad – based Council of Scientific and Industrial Research ‘s Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology-CCMB is developing algorithms along the lines of Chat-GPT for genetics in collaboration with a global research group . Genome sequencing data replaces human language in this algorithm are being used to detect disease causing genetic changes in patients. They have compiled the largest ever catalog of genomic information on apes. Using this genomic data, artificial intelligence algorithms have been developed for clinical use, providing new insights to identify the genetic causes of human diseases. Current human and clinical genetics techniques have a limitation in identifying thousands of disease-causing genetic variations. Artificial intelligence algorithms are capable of accurately detecting genetic mutations in patients.

Municipal Administration, Housing and Urban Development Minister Y Khemchand and a team of six MLAs have been sent to the violence-affected areas in Suganu assembly constituency. State minister K Govind Das and another team of four MLAs have been sent to violence-prone areas of Kumbhi assembly constituency. This committee will stay in these areas and take measures to restore normalcy in the state.

The National Council of Educational Research and Training – NCERT has termed the news reports about the removal of the theory of evolution and the periodic table from the syllabus as incorrect and misleading . In a series of tweets, the NCERT said that the periodic table has not been removed from the school curriculum. This is given in detail in the third unit of the class XI book. The theory of evolution in class twelfth is explained in detail in chapter six, which also deals with the theory of evolution and Charles Darwin. NCERT has said that there are several news reports doing rounds in the media about evolution and removal of periodic table from the syllabus, which are completely baseless.

The Ministry of External Affairs , the European Union Delegation to India and the Asian Confluence jointly organized the India-EU Connectivity Summit in Meghalaya on June 1-2 to explore investments in the northeastern states.Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma and foreign states Minister (MoS) Rajkumar Ranjan Singh inaugurated the conference on Thursday, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said in a press release. The objective of the conference was to explore connectivity investments and the North-Eastern states of India and India under the India-EU Connectivity Partnership. India’s neighbors – Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh – were to identify concrete projects for implementation, which was launched during the India-EU leaders’ meeting.

The 1972 reservation policy in Meghalaya allocated 40 percent reserved jobs to the Garo tribe, 40 percent to the Khasi-Jaintia tribes, 5 percent to other tribes, and 15 percent to general category candidates. However, opposition parties including VPP have been urging the government to review and revise this policy,

13 India’s fiscal deficit for FY23 stands at 6.4% of GDP
The fiscal deficit of the central government stood at 6.4 percent of the gross domestic product (GDP) in the last financial year 2022-23. Even in the revised estimates of the Finance Ministry, the fiscal deficit was targeted to remain the same. This information was received from the government data released on 31 May. Releasing the revenue-expenditure data of the central government for 2022-23, the Controller General of Accounts (CGA) said that the fiscal deficit in terms of value stood at Rs 17,33,131 crore (provisional). The government borrows from the market to bridge its fiscal deficit. The CGA said the revenue deficit stood at 3.9 per cent of GDP. At the same time, the effective revenue deficit has been 2.8 percent of GDP. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has set a target of limiting the fiscal deficit to 5.9 per cent of GDP in 2023-24 in the general budget presented on February 1.
