1.Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu honored 338 workers with Prime Minister’s Labor awards :-

In the awards ceremony held in New Delhi, Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu awarded Prime Minister’s Labor Awards to three hundred 38 workers.

The Vice President stressed on providing a healthy environment for the workers in the organized and unorganized sector for better production.

Mr. Naidu asked the Ministry of Labor and Employment to take more steps for the welfare of the working class and monitor the implementation of welfare measures.

The Vice President provided the Prime Minister’s Labor Award for the year 2011 to 2016. These include Shram Ratna , Shram Bhushan , Shram Veer and Shram Veerangana and Shramshree and Shram Devi Awards.

 

2.Defense Research and Development Organization successfully tested unmanned fighter aircraft Rustam-2 :-

The Defense Research and Development Organization conducted a successful test of unmanned fighter aircraft Rustam-2 from Chalakere Testing Center in Chitradurga district of Karnataka on Sunday. This flight is also considered important because it was the first flight of the aircraft with the use of high power engines. This flight came true on all the parameters.

 

3.Information Minister Smriti Irani emphasized on enriching the subject matter of Prasar Bharati :-

Information and Broadcasting Minister Smriti Irani has stressed on making Prasar Bharati’s subject matter more prosperous. Mrs. Irani said this while addressing the 24th International Conference and Exhibition on Terrestrial and Satellite Broadcasting in New Delhi on Monday. He said that every year the taxpayer spread Bharti pay Rs two thousand five hundred million , so that the public broadcaster – to preserve the vibrant and thriving the scope of broadcast radio and television.

Smt. Irani said that the people using smart phones in the country are from thirty to forty million and this year their numbers are expected to reach 53 crore.

 

4.21st National Conference on e-Governance in Hyderabad :-

The 21st National Conference on e-governance will begin in Hyderabad. The two-day conference is being organized jointly with the Government of India’s Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances Department (DARPG), the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and the Telangana Government.

Union Minister of Science and Technology and Earth Sciences Shri Y.S. Choudhury will chair the inaugural session of the Conference and the IT, Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Industries and Commerce of the Telangana Government, Public Enterprises, Sugar, Mining and Geology, NRI Minister Shri Kalvukantal Tarak Rama Rao will be the chief guest in the inaugural session. The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Technology for Accelerated Development’.

 

5.Major traders from SAARC countries will be assembled in Kathmandu to participate in the SAARC Business Leaders Conference next month :-

The major traders from SAARC countries will be gathered in Kathmandu, Nepal’s capital to participate in the SAARC Business Leaders Summit held between the 16th and the 18th of next month. The goal of this conference is to promote investment, innovation and entrepreneurship in the region.

Saraj Commerce and Industry Chairman Suraj Vaidya said that the biennial SAARC-CCI is being organized for the second time in Nepal. The Nepal Government is organizing this conference jointly with SAARC-CCI.

Former President Pranab Mukherjee has been invited to give key speeches at the conference. Former Sri Lankan President Chandrika Bandaranayake’s Kumarutung has also been invited to address the conference. The conference is likely to take part in the business of big business from this sector.

The conference of South Asian Free Trade Area (SAFTA) will also be held at the end of the conference.

 

6.Government has decided to impose anti-dumping duty on pottery made from China, so that the interests of domestic manufacturers can be protected :-

Government has imposed anti-dumping duty on ceramic tableware and kitchenware imported from China. The goal of this measure is to protect the interests of domestic manufacturers. Anti-dumping duty of US $ 1.04 per kg will be made on tableware and kitchenware imported from China, which will make importing expensive. All India Potteri Manufacturers Association- AIPMA and Indian Ceramic Society appealed to do this from the Directorate of Anti Dumping and Assistant Duty (DGAD). Based on the recommendations of DGAD, the Department of Revenue has decided to charge this fee under the Ministry of Finance. This charge has been imposed for five years from June 2017.

 

7.Vikas Krishna and Amit Fangal in Strandja Memorial Boxing Tournament Gold and MC Marikom and Seema Punia won silver medals :-

Indian boxer Vikas Krishna and Amit Fangl get gold medals on the last day of 69th Strandza Memorial Boxing Tournament in Sophia, Bulgaria.

According to our correspondent, “In the 75 kg category, Vikas won gold medal by defeating Morocco’s Said in the American boxer Troy Isle and in 49kg category Amit. MC Mary Kom, Seema Punia and Gaurav Solanki had to be satisfied with silver medals. He lost the glory in the 92 kg category final, hence he got silver medal. In the 48-kilogram category of women, Mary Com faced the defeat of Bulgaria’s Savda Assenova, due to which she remained second. Rena Punia defeated Russia’s Ana Ivanovova in 81kg category. India got 11 medals overall in this tournament, two of which included gold, three silver and six bronze medals. “

 

8.In order to invite innovative ideas for the development of 635 stations in Indian Railways, a competition ‘creation (Station Rejuvenation Initiative) through Joint Steps’ has been launched on the MyGov portal :-

Indian Railway Station Development Corporation Limited (IRSDC) has started work on redevelopment of around 600 major railway stations across the country. Under this comprehensive expedition, assistance and participation of all stakeholders, such as rail passengers, urban planners, architects and engineers, is essential. In view of this objective of consultation with the stakeholders, the launch of a competition ‘creation of a competition (joint initiative by the Station Rejuvenation Initiative) for inviting innovative ideas (Idea) for the development of 635 stations in the Indian Railways, MIGOV Has been done on the portal. The last date for submission of entries for this competition is March 26, 2018. Certificates will be given to the winners and appropriate ideas will be implied in respective designs.

IRSDC has started competition for logo and tagline through the MyGave portal. The cash prize of Rs. 75,000 and the winner of the tagline will be given a cash prize of Rs. 75,000 to the winner of the logo competition.
