1.Tribute to the martyred CRPF jawans in the terror attack :-

The Lok Sabha paid homage to the five soldiers in the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir. The members expressed respect by keeping a few moments silent. On the commencement of the proceedings, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan mentioned the terrorist attack on the CRPF camp in Pulwama. He said that five security personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force were martyred in a brutal terrorist attack.

Armed armed terrorists attacked security camps in Pulwama, Jammu , on December 31 , 2017 . Sumitra Mahajan said that this meeting expresses deep grief over the family of this deadly attack. After this, the members kept silent for the sake of the martyrs for a while. Many members of Pakistan Murdabad slogans also protested against this attack.

 

2.Government to link all posts along the Indo-China border to the streets: Home Minister Rajnath Singh :-

The government has started a special project to connect all the posts along the Indo-China border with roads. This information was given by the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh while reviewing the operational preparedness of Indo-Tibetan Border Police Check in the Norton Valley in Uttarakhand.

He said that many border checks have been linked to the roads. The Home Minister celebrated New Year with the Indo-Tibetan Border Police force on the border post at the height of 11 thousand 6 hundred feet. The temperature was below minus 20 degrees Celsius.

 

3.Stoppage of donor on Jamaat-ud-Dawna organization of Hafiz Saeed, the donor of Mumbai terrorist attack :-

Pakistan has banned donations from organizations such as Jamaat-ud-Dawada, the leader of the Mumbai terror attack, Hafiz Saeed.

This ban has been imposed after President Donald Trump of US President Barack Obama on safe havens of terrorists and fighting against terrorism instead of telling and cheating. Mr Trump said in the tweet message that the US will no longer give any assistance to Pakistan.

North Korea’s leader Kim Jong has warned the US that if his country is threatened, he will not be able to use his nuclear weapons. In his speech on television, he said that the entire United States is within the purview of North Korea’s nuclear weapons.

He also said that he is ready to negotiate with South Korea to ease military tensions. Mr. Kim said that he would consider sending a delegation to participate in winter sports in South Korea in February this year.

 

  1.  6.8 percent increase in eight major sectors of the country’s economy :-

Due to better performance in industries such as oil refining , steel and cement , an increase of six decimal eight percent in eight major areas of the economy was recorded in November 2017 .

According to the data released by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, it has been reported that in the field of oil refining on Nov. 2, eight percent of the total oil refining in two years , 16 percent increase in steel and 17 percent three percent in cement . There was also an increase in the production of crude oil and natural gas , but there was a negative performance of coal production.

October 2016This is the highest increase in production after. Commenting on the figures, Economic Affairs Secretary SC Garg said this growth is a great one. In a tweet, he said that the increase in steel and cement is an indication that production in these areas has reached level before the ban on paper. He said that this is a good sign for investment in the manufacturing sector.

 

6.Medical services to ensure emergency services in view of IMA strike – Health Ministry :-

The Ministry of Health has asked all the hospitals of the Central Government to ensure the emergency services in view of the 12-hour strike of the Indian Medical Association- IMA today. This consultation has been issued to All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Safdarjung Hospital and other hospitals of the Central Government.

IMA has called for regular medical services to be suspended today against the bill to replace the new medical body in place of the Indian Medical Council. The National Medical Commission Bill was to be introduced in Parliament on Friday. In this bill, there is a provision for allopathy therapeutics after completing special courses for practitioners of alternative medicine like Homeopathy and Ayurveda.

 

7.Vijay Keshav Gokhale will be new Foreign Secretary :-

Vijay Keshav Gokhale will be the new Foreign Secretary. They will replace Dr. S. Jaishankar, whose tenure is being completed on 28th of this month. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved his appointment. Mr.

Gokhale is a 1988 batch Indian Administrative Service officer. Presently he is looking after the work of Secretary of Economic Affairs in the Ministry of External Affairs.

 

8.US stops military aid to Pakistan :-

The US has stopped the military aid amounting to 25 million to five million dollars currently. The White House confirming that such assistance will depend on how Pakistan responds to terrorism on its own.

A senior administrative official said that the President made it clear that the US expects Pakistan to take concrete steps against terrorists and militants on its own soil. The official said that the US administration would continue to review the level of cooperation of Pakistan.

It is notable that many US lawmakers have supported the strong stand of Trump on Pakistan. There has been a stir in Pakistan since the announcement to stop this financial aid. There is a big meeting in Pakistan today that will include the country’s Prime Minister, several ministers, MPs and military officials.
