 1.Rural Sanitation Coverage Exceeds 85% Under Clean India :-

Rural sanitation coverage of India has increased to 85% under the Clean India Mission, the world’s largest behavior change program. Due to the active rural communities, 7.4 million toilets were constructed in rural India resulting in more than 3.8 lakh villages and 391 districts open-defeaining (ODF) in the open.

 

2.Meeting of officials of the Foreign Ministry officials in India, USA, Australia and Japan, in Singapore :-

India, USA, Japan and Australia officials have also spoken separately in the meeting of the ASEAN-focused senior officials held in Singapore to discuss issues related to India’s Pacific region.

It was informed in an official release that issues of visceral issues like cooperation, development, regional security, terrorism, non-proliferation and cooperation in the shipping sector were discussed. In the key speech of the Shangri-La dialogue by Prime Minister Modi from India and India, some of these things were kept as an India’s perspective in the Pacific region.

 

3.Prime Minister Narendra Modi will leave tomorrow for a two-day visit to participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit :-

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will leave tomorrow for China on a two-day trip to participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit. Foreign Ministry spokesman Ravish Kumar said that during the conference regional issues will be discussed.
The spokesman said that Mr. Modi will talk to Chinese President Xi Chinfing.

 

4.The government has sought clarification from Facebook on the news of sharing confidential information of users without consent :-

The government has sought explanation from Facebook on the news of sharing confidential information related to people without consent. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has asked Facebook to complete the report till June 20. Recently, media reports claimed that mobile phones and other equipment manufacturers are acquiring their personal information without users’ consent under the alleged agreement with Facebook. Ministry of Information Technology has expressed serious concern on such news.

 

5.Air India asked for a bank loan of Rs.1 thousand crore to get the work done. :-

National Aviation Company, Air India has invited proposals for short-term loans of 10 billion rupees to meet its immediate capital requirements. According to loan documents, loan of 10 billion rupees will be taken in one or two installments in June. The airline has asked banks to give their proposals upto 13th of this month.

Due to lack of funds Air India was having trouble paying its employees and it had to borrow a loan of 62 billion rupees five crore from different banks between September and January this year.

 

6.Mithali Raj became the first Indian player to make Twenty-two runs in Twenty20 International cricket :-

India’s Mithali Raj Twenty-Twenty has become the first Indian player to score two thousand runs in international cricket. sHe achieved this in a match played with Sri Lanka in Twenty-Twenty Women Asia Cup in Kuala Lumpur yesterday. India defeated Sri Lanka by seven wickets in this match Mithali now has two thousand 15 runs in 75 matches. She is the seventh female cricket player to score two thousand runs in Twenty-Twenty cricket. In this list, England’s Charlotte Edwards is at the top with two thousand six hundred and five runs.

 

7.New Zealand’s women’s cricket team created history by scoring the biggest score in one-day cricket history :-

New Zealand’s women’s cricket team got their world record of the highest score in an innings in international one day cricket. New Zealand won the toss and opted to bat first in the one-day match against Ireland, scoring 490 runs in four wickets, which is the highest ODI score in the men’s and women’s cricket internationally.

 

8.Despite US warning, India will buy S-400 missile system from Russia :-

Despite the US pressure, India will not be left behind from the decision to buy S-400 air defense missile systems from Russia. India continues to stand on its military-friendly approach with Russia even after the US warnings. This is said by Pankaj Saran, India’s ambassador to Russia. India has clarified that negotiations have been completed for the purchase of the S-400 Tri-Air Air Defense missile system for Rs 40,000 crore. These systems will work under the supervision of AF.

 

9.Five new members were elected to the UN Security Council, know who were included in the country :-

The United Nations General Assembly elected five new member countries in the Security Council. The five member countries that are elected include Belgium, Dominican Republic, Germany, Indonesia and South Africa. All these countries were elected as non-permanent members of the Security Council for a period of two years.

These are permanent countries –

There are 15 members in the United Nations Security Council, of which there are five permanent and 10 temporary member countries. Five countries are permanent members of Britain, China, France, Russia and America. Half of the remaining 10 floating members are elected every year. These 10 temporary members are elected by the General Assembly for a two-year term.

 

10.FDI flows in India dropped by $ 4 billion below last year: UN report :-

According to a new trade report by the United Nations, foreign direct investment in India decreased from $ 44 billion in 2016 to $ 40 billion, whereas outflow from India has become more than double the main source of investment in South Asia.

According to the World Investment Report, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the global foreign direct investment flows in 2018 fell 23 percent in 2017, to US $ 1.87 trillion in 2016 to USD 1.43 trillion.
