1.PM Narendra Modi inaugurates Deoghar airport in Jharkhand

On the occasion of 75th Independence Day , the Central Government will launch a national campaign of ‘Har Ghar Tricolor ‘ across the country . The Ministry of Culture will start this campaign under the Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi. Home Minister Amit Shah has approved this campaign in honor of the national flag tricolor . The objective of the campaign is to inculcate the spirit of patriotism among the people and bring awareness to the tricolor. The rules for the use, display and hoisting of the national flag are set out in the Flag Code of Conduct 2002. This code of conduct came into force on 26 January 2002.

The James Webb Space Telescope recently took many pictures of space . Many of these images are from an unknown part of space. First image taken by SMACS 0723The galaxy cluster is shown. It was developed jointly by NASA, the Canadian Space Agency and the European Space Agency. It was launched from Ariane rocket. This telescope has been launched to scan galaxies and stars that formed 13.7 billion years ago. The cost of this telescope is 10 billion dollars. It took 15 days for the telescope to be aligned properly. It had 18 sections and they were all manually aligned. It took 12 days to align the mirrors. The alignment process is still underway and it will take three months for the telescope to be ready for its maiden flight. This telescope will be able to see even further than Hubble’s telescope. Its mirrors are connected to IR (Infra Red). The James Webb Telescope will study the extraterrestrial and atmosphere. With all, This telescope will explore the atmosphere similar to that of Earth. It will search for galaxies formed during the Big Bang. It will also determine the process of evolution of galaxies. This will observe the formation of stars. In addition, the telescope will also measure the chemical and physical properties of the planets.

The Coffee Board plans to focus on developing new varieties that will be resistant to the changing climate patterns . A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Coffee Board and the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) regarding breeding of climate-resilient varieties and assessing the carbon sequestration potential in coffee. Coffee Board of India is a statutory organization constituted under the Coffee Act, 1942 . Its Headquarters Bangaloreis in. The organization is managed by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to promote coffee production in India. Central Coffee Research Institute (CCRI) from plants under the Board in the areas of Plant Breeding, Agronomy, Agricultural Chemistry and Soil Science, Plant Physiology, Pathology, Entomology, and Post-harvest Technology in Chikmagalur District of Karnataka Conducts related research activities.

10.Union Minister of State for Space Jitendra Singh inaugurated the IS4OM Center

11.IIT Madras develops AI tool for personalized cancer diagnosis

Researchers at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras have developed an artificial intelligence based tool, PIVOT , which can identify cancer-causing genes in a person . This early information could not only help prevent cancer, but could also lead to better treatment strategies for cancer patients. Raghunatham Swamy, professor of chemical engineering, led the research. The tool is based on machine learning that classifies genes as tumor suppressor, neutral or oncogene. The tool is able to successfully predict existing oncogenes and tumor-suppressor genes such as TP53, PIK3CA and new cancer-related genes such as PRKCA, SOX9 and PSMD4.

12.Two suspected cases of Marburg virus disease in Ghana

According to the World Health Organization (WHO) , two suspected cases of Marburg virus disease have been reported in Ghana . Marburg virus disease is similar to Ebola . In the initial analysis, samples were taken from two patients from the southern region of Ghana. Both the patients died as they were positive. Samples have now been sent to the research center in Senegal to confirm the presence of this virus. No new case has come to light after the death of these two. Marburg virus disease is a contagious hemorrhagic fever . It belongs to the same family as Ebola. This virus is found in fruit bats.spreads through people. People-to-people transmission occurs if the uninfected person comes into direct contact with the bodily fluids of the infected person or surfaces. Marburg virus has an incubation period of 2-21 days. The disease is potentially very harmful and fatal. Mortality rates in previous outbreaks ranged from 24% to 88%.
