1 ‘Panchayat Season 2’ wins 1st Best Web Series (OTT) Award 2023 at 54th International Film Festival of India

Heart-warming Hindi comedy-drama series ‘ Panchayat Season 2 ‘   has won the prestigious 1st Best Web Series (OTT) Award 2023 at the 54th International Film Festival of India (IFFI)   held in  Goa . ‘Panchayat Season 2’, directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra and written by Chandan Kumar, tells the complex story of Abhishek Tripathi, an urban graduate. Protagonist Abhishek Tripathi plays the secretary of a dilapidated panchayat office in Phulera, a fictional village located in the Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh.

 

2 Defense Minister Rajnath Singh unveiled the keel of stealth destroyer Guided Missile Destroyer

Defense Minister  Rajnath Singh  unveiled  the keel of Yard 12,706 (Imphal),   a stealth destroyer of  the Guided Missile Destroyer category  under  Project 15B category,  in  New Delhi . On this occasion, Chief Minister of   Manipur  N. Biren Singh  was also present. According to the Defense Ministry, the design of Kalgi   depicts Kangla-Palace on the left  and  Kangla-Sa on the right. Kangla Palace   is an important historical and archaeological site of Manipur . Kangla-sa is a mythological figure from the history of Manipur   , consisting of  a symbol  consisting of a dragon’s head and a lion’s body . It   is also the state symbol of Manipur . According to the ministry, this symbol is a tribute to the sacrifice of the people of Manipur for the independence, sovereignty and security of India. Yard 12,706 (Imphal)  is the third frigate in the series of four stealth destroyers  under  the Project 15B series of Guided Missile Destroyers  , named after the city in the North-Eastern Region.

3 India and America will launch joint microwave remote sensing satellite for earth studies

India and the US  will launch a joint microwave remote sensing satellite to study the Earth  in the coming months  . The satellite has been named  NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar-NISAR  . Science and Technology Minister  Dr Jitendra Singh  gave   this information in a meeting with a high-level NASA delegation led by US Space Agency  Administrator  Bill Nelson . In the meeting, Dr. Jitendra Singh said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, startups are getting a boost in the space sector in India. He said that within a short period of four years the number of space startups has crossed 150. The Department of Space has said in a statement that NISAR will be extremely useful in the study of geo-ecological systems.

4 Standard & Poor’s Global has estimated India’s economic growth at 6.4 percent for the financial year 2024-25.

 According to  Standard & Poor’s Global, India’s economic growth  is likely to increase by 6.4 percent in the financial year 2024-25  . The agency cautioned that high food inflation and weak exports could weigh on growth in the coming years. In its economic survey for Asia Pacific, it says economic growth will remain on track this year and next. Economic growth will remain strong in emerging economies with high domestic demand. This forecast is in line with the forecasts of many agencies. However, this forecast is less than the government and RBI’s forecast of 6.5 percent.

5 Drug Free India Campaign- Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment and Ramchandra Mission

 An MoU was signed between the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment  and  Ramachandra Mission  in  New Delhi  regarding  Drug Free India Campaign . Its objective is to ensure that India is free from drugs and becomes a better society for the citizens. While signing the MoU, Social Justice and Empowerment Department Minister  Dr. Virendra Kumar  said that about  10.71 crore people have joined the Drug Free India campaign  . These include 3.37 lakh youth, 2.26 lakh women and 3.27 lakh educational institutions. He expressed confidence that this partnership will prove to be an important step in weaning people, especially the youth, from drug addiction. He said that many spiritual and social service organizations are also working with the Ministry to make India drug free. On this occasion, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Dr. Ramdas Athawale appreciated the work of various departments of the Ministry. He said that India will become drug free in the near future. The Drug Free India campaign was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from the ramparts of the Red Fort on 15 August 2020.

6 Tourism Ministry organizes prequel event of festival named Krishnaveni Sangeeta Neerjanam to celebrate the rich heritage of classical music

The Ministry of Tourism , Government of India   in collaboration with  the Ministry of CultureSangeet Natak Akademi  and  Andhra Pradesh State Government  successfully organized the prequel program of Krishnaveni Sangeeta Neerjanam . It is a first-of-its-kind festival to celebrate the rich heritage of classical music and promote unexplored tourist attractions. The prequel event held on November 27, 2023 at six locations across the state was a resounding success and gave a glimpse of the main event to be held in December 2023. Krishnaveni Sangeeta Neerjanam  will be  organized   in  Vijayawada from 10 December to 12 December 2023 .

7 Ministry of AYUSH awarded gold medal for excellent performance in 7 ‘India International Trade Fair’

 Ministry  of AYUSH  has been awarded  the Gold Medal by ‘ India Trade Promotion Organisation ‘ for excellent performance in the ‘ Ministry and Departments ‘ category  of the Indian International Trade Fair . The Ministry had set up an AYUSH pavilion with various activities at the fair with the aim of promoting scientific evidence-based AYUSH treatment methods. Various activities and innovative presentations of Ministry of AYUSH presented with scientific evidence remained the center of attraction for the audience. To promote AYUSH-entrepreneurship, a total of 18 AYUSH start-ups were given the opportunity to showcase new products in the AYUSH Pavilion. Free clinic facilities of AYUSH medical systems like Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani, Homeopathy, Yoga-Naturopathy, Sowa-Rigpa were also provided in the AYUSH Pavilion.

8 Defense Ministry signs contract with Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited to procure 16 Advanced Super Rapid Gun Mounts and accessories worth Rs 2956.89 crore for the Indian Navy

Ministry of Defense  signed a contract with M/s Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Haridwar on November 28, 2023 for procurement of 16 Upgraded Super Rapid Gun Mounts (SRGM)  along with associated equipment   for  the Indian Navy  under the procurement.  Have done. Its total cost  will be Rs 2956.89 crore  . The advanced SRGM, which will be manufactured by M/s BHEL at its Haridwar plant, is a medium caliber anti-missile/anti-aircraft point defense weapon system. It has high firepower and ensures high accuracy.

9 Union Minister Smriti Irani launches National Outreach Program of Anganwadi Protocol for Children with Disabilities

Union Women and Child Development Minister  Smriti Irani  launched  the National Outreach Program  of   Anganwadi Protocol for Children with Disabilities . Under this,  the social model for inclusive nutrition of disabled people  has been included. This also includes screening for symptoms of disability at an early stage  , linking them with community programs and  providing support through ASHA and ANM teams. Its objective   is to ensure all-round improvement in children . On this occasion, Union Minister Smriti Irani said that for the first time Anganwadi workers will help in screening children for identification of disability. He said that at least one lakh children will benefit from this program every year.

10 Hollywood actor and producer Michael Douglas honored with Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award for excellence in cinema

Hollywood actor and producer Michael Douglas,  renowned for  his excellence in cinema,  was honored with the prestigious  Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award at  the 54th International Film Festival of India (IFFI)   in Goa . Douglas was accompanied by his wife , Catherine Zeta-Jones  , a renowned BAFTA Award-winning actress and philanthropist,  and their son, actor  Dylan Douglas  . With all this, he received the award at a glittering closing ceremony of the 54th IFFI. Michael Douglas is known for his groundbreaking roles, dedicated public service record, and lasting cultural impact.

11 Abbas Amini’s Persian language film ‘Endless Borders’ wins the Golden Peacock Award for Best Film at the 54th IFFI

The 54th International Film Festival of India (IFFI)  unveiled its prestigious Golden Peacock Awards  recognizing excellence across various categories. The award consists of a cash prize of Rs 40 lakh, a certificate and a Golden Peacock Medal. The prestigious ‘Golden Peacock’ for the Best Film  was awarded to the Persian language  film, ‘ Endless Borders ‘  directed by  Abbas Amini . The film   tells the story of an Iranian teacher’s difficult journey amid the turmoil caused by the rise of the Taliban in Afghanistan. This emotion-packed film deeply portrays the complexities of prejudice, moral dilemmas and forbidden love.  Bulgarian director Stefan Komanderev won the Silver Peacock award for  best director for ” Blag’s Lessons, ” a powerful exploration of moral compromise in the face of deception. The film centers on a widow named Blaga, whose moral balance is shaken after becoming the victim of telephone scammers. Actor Pouria Rahimi Sam  has  been unanimously  chosen Best Actor (Silver Peacock Award) for his role in the Persian film ‘Endless Borders’ directed by Abbas Amini. The jury selected the actor for his “rich acting and dialogue with his colleagues, children and adults in challenging shooting conditions”. French actress Mélanie Thierry  has   been honored with the Silver Peacock Award for Best Actress  for  Party of Fools . Critically acclaimed Indian filmmaker  Rishabh Shetty  has   received a Special Jury Award  for  Kantara .

12 Anthony Chen’s film Drift receives the prestigious ICFT-UNESCO Gandhi Medal at the 54th International Film Festival of India

Drift  , a French, British and Greek co-production  directed   by Anthony Chen ,  received   the prestigious  ICFT-UNESCO Gandhi Medal at the 54th International Film Festival of India  . The film  is an emotional portrayal of an immigrant woman  who appears to be cursed to endure a painful and horrifying reality amid the madness of humanity. The awards were announced at the grand closing ceremony of the festival in Goa. In Drift,  the main character ‘Jacqueline’, played by Cynthia Erivo  , is a young refugee who arrives on a Greek island alone and in destitution. On the island she tries to survive, then struggles to deal with her past.

13 National Thermal Power Corporation Limited, Bongaigaon honored for outstanding achievements in CSR and environment protection

14 4th edition of ASEAN India Grassroots Innovation Forum (AIGIF) launched

 200 participants representing 10 ASEAN Member States (AMs), including India, attended the 4th edition of the annual ASEAN India Grassroots Innovation Forum (AIGIF) launched  in  Langkawi  , Malaysia  on  28 November 2023  . AIGIF is an annual event that focuses on promoting stronger relations between India and AMS based on cooperation in Science, Technology and Innovation (STI). While it aims to promote social innovation in different countries, it also strengthens governance in the grassroots innovation ecosystem.

15 Madhya Pradesh: India’s largest tiger reserve to be set up in Damoh

Madhya Pradesh  ‘s  Damoh district   is set to become home to the country’s largest tiger reserve , marking a significant progress in wildlife conservation efforts. The central government has   given the green signal to the merger of Noradehi sanctuary  with  Durgavati sanctuary in Damoh, which will create a huge tiger reserve spread over 2,300 square kilometres.

16 41 workers trapped in Silkyara Tunnel in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand for 17 days were rescued safely.

The nation  has   expressed happiness over the  safe evacuation of all 41 workers  trapped  in  the  Silkyara Tunnel in Uttarakhand  ‘s  Uttarkashi district for 17 days . All the workers were trapped inside the Silkyara tunnel.  All the workers were left stranded in the tunnel when a part of the tunnel under construction between Silkyara and Barkot  collapsed on  12 November . All agencies, officers and employees of the State Government and Central Government worked on war footing to make the rescue mission successful. The stranded workers were given food, oxygen and phones to contact through a pipeline. The workers and their families have expressed gratitude to the Central and State Government for being safely taken out of the tunnel.

17 NHPC awarded second prize under ‘Annual Report’ category of ‘PRSI National Awards 2023’

NHPC Limited, India’s leading hydropower company,  has won  the second prize under the ‘Annual Report’ category   of the ‘ PRSI National Awards 2023 ‘ . The award was presented during the International Public Relations Festival organized by the Public Relations Society of India (PRSI) in New Delhi from 25 to 27 November 2023. The award reflects the overall high-quality, performance and excellence of the work plan as per NHPC’s Annual Report 2022-23.

18 Punjab defeated Haryana to win the 13th Hockey India Senior Men’s National Hockey Championship

Punjab  has  won  the thirteenth Hockey India Senior Men’s National Hockey Championship  by defeating  Haryana . In the final match in Chennai  , both the teams were tied at two goals each at the scheduled time. Then  in the shootout, Punjab  won both the match and the title by leading 9-8 . Punjab’s Harjeet Singh scored in the 13th minute while Haryana’s Sanjay scored through a penalty corner in the 25th minute to bring both the teams on par. In a heart-pounding shootout, Punjab defeated Haryana 9-8 and became champions this time.

19 Shubman Gill given captaincy of Gujarat IPL team

Before  the IPL 2024  auction , Shubman Gill  was   appointed as the new captain of  Gujarat Titans (GT IPL 2024) . Gill will be the third player to lead the Titans in the IPL after Hardik Pandya  and  Rashid Khan  . Pandya was the full-time captain of the Titans in IPL 2022 and 2023. Under his leadership, Gujarat won the title in its first season and finished runners-up in the next edition of the IPL.

20 Formula 1: Max Verstappen wins Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

Red Bull  ‘s triple world champion  Max Verstappen capped Formula One’s most impressive season with a record 19th win in 22 races at the  final  Abu Dhabi Grand Prix  of the season on Sunday. The pole-to-flag victory for the fourth consecutive year under Yas Marina floodlights moved the 26-year-old into third place on the all-time list of Formula One winners with 54 career starts. Only seven-time champions Lewis Hamilton (103) and Michael Schumacher (91) have won more.
