2.Sushma Swaraj held bilateral meetings with Foreign Ministers of Ghana, Ecuador and Venezuela :-

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Thursday discussed bilateral meetings with Foreign Ministers of Ghana, Ecuador and Venezuela apart from the 18th Mid-Term Ministerial Meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement and discussed measures to increase mutual cooperation.

 

3.Piyush Goyal launched the Best App for Monitoring the Quality of Coal :-

Union Railway and Coal Minister Piyush Goyal launched the Best App to monitor the quality of coal. Best means – To get transparency, the coal obtained by mining is evaluated by third party (Unlocking Transparency by Third Party Assessment of Mind Coal) – Uttam.coalindia.in. Coal Ministry and Coal India Limited (CIL) have developed the best app. Its aim is to monitor all the Citizen and Coal consumers of the sample process by the third party in all the subsidiary companies of CIL.

 

  1. 5.3 earthquake of magnitude in the US :-

Earthquake tremors were recorded on Thursday on the coast of South Carolina, USA Earthquake intensity recorded at 5.3 on the Richter scale.

The US Geological Survey said that the intensity of earthquake was recorded at 5.0 but later it increased to 5.3.

According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), the center of the earthquake was located in the depth of 16.8 kilometers, about 57 kilometers south-west of California’s Island Beach from California.

 

5.RBI asks banks not to provide services to businesses operating in indirect currencies from banks :-

The Reserve Bank instructed all the regular institutions including banks to not provide services to businesses that do business in virtual currency-indirect currencies such as Bitcoin. This has been done to protect the interests of consumers and to prevent money laundering.

In a review of the first bi-monthly policy of the Financial Year 2018-19, the RBI creates concerns about the issues related to consumer protection, market integrity and black money purification, known as crypto currency and crypto asset.  

 

6.TRAI created an ambitious model of public Wi-Fi :-

Telecommunication Regulatory – TRAI has prepared an ambitious model of public Wi-Fi, which aims at promoting the spread of broadband across the country by reducing the usage of Internet usage by 90 percent.

TRAI President RS Sharma told the correspondents that this new concept of TRAI includes officially providing public data-PDOs. It will work to provide communication contacts like old PCOs.

 

7.Government of India, Maharashtra Government and World Bank signed a new project to benefit more than 25 million small and marginal farmers of Maharashtra :-

8.Pakistan-China will buy 114 :-

9.US prohibits Putin’s son-in-law, including Russian businessmen and officials :-

The US has banned many traders and many enterprises, including the son-in-law of Vladimir Putin, Russian President of Russia. All these are accused of availing the Russian government’s efforts to ignore Western nations. The US Treasury Department announced the ban on Friday. The department has also banned 17 government officials from Russia.

Russia’s government company Rosoboronexport associated with arms trade has long been concerned with Syria. Its subsidiary, Russian Financial Corporation, has also been targeted for a new ban. Announcing new sanctions against Russia, US Treasury Secretary Steven T. Manchin said, “Russia’s government works for unlimited benefits of businessmen and government enterprises.”

 

10.5% GST will be charged on food provided by Indian Railways: Ministry of Finance :-

Five commodities and service tax (GST) will be levied on food and drink items on the train from Indian Railway or IRCTC. This information has been given by the Finance Ministry.

On March 31, the Ministry of Finance had written to the Railway Board that it would take five per cent of GST on food, food and drinks on trains, stations or playforms. It was said so that there is no doubt. There will be equality in the prices of items found in trains, stations and playforms at the rate of 5 per cent of GST.
