1. Vriksha Bandhan Project launched in Aurangabad, Maharashtra

  • In a unique initiative, Ministry of Tribal Affairs launched Vriksha Bandhan Project in partnership with Art of Living in Aurangabad , Maharashtra . In this, 1100 tribal women rakhi from the seeds of native trees for Raksha Bandhan . are making. It is a unique contribution in increasing forest cover and tackling climate change. This initiative is part of the project approval given to Art of Living by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs in October 2020 in which 10,000 tribal farmers from 10 villages of Aurangabad are being trained on sustainable natural farming based on cow based farming techniques. 1100 members of Mahila Kisan Manch thought of making Rakhi from indigenous seeds. To make the project attractive, the Ministry of Tribal Affairs organized a virtual function in which Sri Sri Ravi Shankar of Art of Living was also present. The women of Adivasi Kisan Mahila Manch showed many samples of Rakhi made from seeds and also gave information about the process of making Rakhi.
