1 President Draupadi Murmu launches Ayushman Bhava campaign to achieve universal health coverage and ensure healthcare for all

President  Draupadi Murmu  has launched the Ayushman Bhava campaign  today  . Its objective is to provide health services to all people on a wide scale. The President   launched this campaign of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare  through video conferencing from Raj Bhavan in  Gandhi Nagar . Ayushman Bhava: Abhiyaan is an initiative to provide health services on a large scale across the country. Its objective is to provide complete health facilities to everyone in every village and city. Ayushman Bhava: Campaign from Prime Minister  Narendra Modi  ‘s  birthday, September 17  to  October 2. Will be implemented in the fortnight of service. This campaign is based on the vision of taking the entire nation and the entire society together. It involves bringing together the government sector, civil organizations and communities in a collective mission to ensure access to essential health services to every individual without any discrimination. Ayushman Bhava: The campaign is a coordinated collaborative effort led by the Gram Panchayat between the health department, other government departments and local elected bodies in urban and rural areas. This campaign  has   three parts – Ayushman Aapke Dwar 3.0, Ayushman Fair at health and wellness centers and Community Health Center and Ayushman Sabha in every village, every Panchayat .

2 President inaugurates ‘National e-Vidhan Application’

President  Smt. Draupadi Murmu inaugurated  the  ‘ National e-Vidhan Application ‘ ( Neva ) and  addressed the Gujarat Legislative Assembly  in  Gandhinagar . On this occasion, the President said that since  the formation of Gujarat state in the year 1960, Since then the Gujarat Assembly has always worked in the interest of the society. He said that he has taken many commendable steps from time to time. He further said that the inauguration of e-Vidhan today is an important step which will transform this House into a digital House. He shared that through the National e-Vidhan Application (Neva) Members of this House can learn and adopt the best practices of Parliament and other legislatures in the country. He expressed confidence that this initiative, inspired by the goal of “One Nation One Application”, will further accelerate the functioning of Gujarat Assembly and bring transparency in it. The environment will also be protected as the entire process of the House becomes paperless.

3 Konark Chakra adorning the G-20 summit venue

The 18th G20 Summit   was held for the first time in New Delhi on September 9-10, 2023 under the theme   ‘ One Earth, One Family, One Future ‘. The summit   was held at Bharat Mandapam Convention Centre, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi . As a showcase of India’s cultural diversity and heritage,   a wall depicting the  historic  Konark Chakra mural of the Sun Temple  of  Odisha has been installed at the summit venue to welcome other countries. 4 Cabinet approves e-Court Phase-3 for 4 years

The Union Cabinet  chaired   by  the Prime Minister  Shri Narendra Modi  has approved e-Courts Project Phase-3  as a Central Sector Scheme  for four years (2023 onwards)  with a financial outlay of  Rs 7210 crore . In line with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas and Sabka Vishwas”, the e-Court Mission Mode Project is a key enabler to improve access to justice using technology. As part of the National e-Governance Plan,  the e-Courts Project for ICT enablement of the Indian Judiciary is under implementation since 2007. The second phase of which is completed in the year 2023. The third phase of the e-Courts project in India is based on the philosophy of “Access and Inclusion”. Taking the benefits of Phase-1 and Phase-2 to the next level, e-Courts Phase-3 aims to accelerate the delivery of justice by moving towards digital, online and paperless courts through digitization of entire court records including legacy records. More and more simple arrangements have to be made.

5 Cabinet approves expansion of Ujjwala scheme

 The Union Cabinet chaired by  Prime Minister  Shri Narendra Modi  has approved the extension of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY)  to release  75 lakh LPG connections  over  three years from the financial year 2023-24 to 2025-26 . With the provision of 75 lakh additional Ujjwala connections, the total number of PMUY beneficiaries will increase to 10.35 crore. As per the existing modalities of Ujjwala 2.0, the first refill and stove will also be provided free of cost to Ujjwala beneficiaries. Targeted subsidy of Rs 200 is being provided to PMUY consumers on 14.2 kg LPG cylinder for up to 12 refills per year. Without continuation of PMUY, eligible poor families will not be able to get proper benefits under the scheme.

6 India today received the first C-295 MW transport aircraft for the Air Force from Spain.

India   received its first C-295 MW transport aircraft  from  Spain today. Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal  VR Choudhary  attended the formal handing over ceremony of the first C-295 MW transport aircraft in Seville, Spain. According to the Indian Air Force, the aircraft was formally   handed over to the Indian Air Force by Airbus . India has   signed a contract to procure fifty-six Airbus C-295 aircraft  to replace  the AVRO fleet of the Air Force. According to the contractual agreement, Airbus  will deliver 16 aircraft in fly-away condition  from its final assembly line in Seville. The remaining forty aircraft will be manufactured and assembled by  Air Bus and Tata Advanced Systems. It will be carried out by Tata Advanced Systems  in India under industrial partnership between Tata and Tata  . All C-295 aircraft will be equipped with indigenous electronic radar warning and jammer. The C-295 has the capacity to carry 71 soldiers or 50 paratroopers and is used to deliver supplies to areas where heavier aircraft cannot reach.

7 Sindhu Gangadharan appointed as Vice President of NASSCOM

Sindhu Gangadharan  has been appointed as the Vice President of  the National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM)  . Gangadharan  is Senior Vice President and Managing Director at SAP Labs India  and is also responsible for SAP User Enablement. Gangadharan’s appointment reflects his leadership role in the Indian IT industry. This is an important step towards promoting gender diversity and women leadership in technology. Gangadharan was also appointed as the chairman of the NASSCOM GCC Council for the period 2023-2025 earlier this year. Earlier, Indian IT and technology trade body NASSCOM appointed Rajesh Nambiar, chairman and managing director of  Cognizant  India  . Announced the appointment of as its new chairperson.  Nambiar will replace Ananth Maheshwari, former president of Microsoft India  .

8 best countries in the world report 2023

Switzerland  has once again claimed the title of the world’s best country  , according to  U.S. News & World Report  ‘s (USNWR) annual  Best Countries rankings . This marks Switzerland’s second consecutive year at the top and sixth time overall as the No. 1 nation on the list. This is followed by Canada at number 2, Sweden at number 3, Australia at number 4 and the United States at number 5. In 2023,  India’s ranking improved by one place  ,   achieving 30th position with an overall score of 40.8 . Last year, in 2022, India had secured 31st position out of 85.

9 Britain commits US$2 billion to ‘Green Climate Fund’

Britain  said it   will provide US$2 billion  for  a Green Climate Fund (GCF)  to help the world tackle  climate change . The British High Commission in India said that British Prime Minister  Rishi Sunak  has announced this financial contribution to help the vulnerable people of the world to reduce and adapt to the effects of climate change.

10 India and Britain launch Infrastructure Financing Bridge

India and the United Kingdom  have jointly  announced the launch of the Infrastructure Financing Bridge during   the 12th Economic and Financial Dialogue (EFD). This collaborative initiative reflects the continued commitment of both countries to work together to unlock substantial infrastructure investment opportunities in India. A joint statement issued by Finance Minister  Nirmala Sitharaman  and UK Chancellor of the Exchequer  Jeremy Hunt  outlines the primary objectives of this partnership.

Studies have shown that  yoga and meditation are   very  beneficial in dealing with Alzheimer’s disease . Dr. Reema Dada  and  Dr. Manjari Tripathi  of  All India Institute of Medical Sciences Has told that according to the study conducted in the institute, yoga and meditation help in increasing the efficiency of the brain and in treating the disease that causes loss of memory power. He also mentioned that yoga and meditation release chemicals like melatonin which leads to good sleep. He also said that along with a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle, yoga and meditation also help in dealing with the effects of aging, stress and other problems. Yoga and meditation include asanas, pranayam and surya namaskar. He said that every patient should follow a different routine.

12 Path to possible cure for Alzheimer’s disease found in natural polyphenols

Scientists have found that   naturally abundant plant-based  polyphenols (PPs), such as tannic acid  , found in the trunks of trees such as  chestnut and oak,  can regulate  the ferroptosis-AD axis and consequently  prevent  Alzheimer’s disease (  A safe, cost-effective strategy may be available to combat AD) . This may result in helping reduce the social burden such as mental retardation. AD is a rapidly progressive brain disorder that impairs memory and cognitive ability. Even after decades of research, this disease has not been fully understood. This is the reason why treatment to completely cure this disease has not been available.

13 Nipah virus confirmed in four persons in Kerala

 Nipah virus infection has been confirmed in three people  in  Kozhikode district  of  Kerala in samples sent to  the National Institute of Virology, Pune  . Nipah virus is a  zoonotic virus  (transmitted from animals to humans). Nipah virus,  the organism responsible for encephalitis   , is an  RNA or ribonucleic acid virus of  the Paramyxoviridae  category and  Henipavirus genus. and is closely related to Hendra virus. Hendra virus (HeV) infection is a rare emerging zoonosis that causes severe and often fatal disease in both infected horses and humans. It was first seen in Malaysia and Singapore in 1998 and 1999. It was first observed in domestic pigs and is found in many species of domestic animals including dogs, cats, goats, horses and sheep. The disease is spread through ‘fruit bats’ or ‘flying foxes’ of the genus Pteropus, which are the natural sources of Nipah and Hendra viruses. The virus is present in bat urine and potentially in bat feces, saliva, and birth fluids.

14 Bangladesh Navy Chief Admiral Mohammad Nazmul Hasan on visit to India

Bangladesh  Navy  Chief Admiral M Nazmul Hasan  is on a five-day official visit to India from 12 to 16 September 2023. During his visit, he will meet the Army Chief, Navy Chief, Defense Secretary, Foreign Secretary and other senior officials of the government. Admiral Hasan paid tribute by laying a wreath at the National War Memorial on 13 September 2023, followed by Admiral  R., Chief of the Naval Staff at the South Block. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation  and  Bharat Electronics Limited  signed   an MoU to develop indigenous communication based train control system . This partnership will transform rail transportation in India, spur innovation, reduce costs and promote self-reliance in the field of train control signaling systems. 16 Government approved MoU between India and Armenia and Antigua and Barbuda

Government  approved the MoU between India and Armenia and Antigua and Barbuda on cooperation in the field of sharing   successful digital solutions implemented at population level  . The agreement was signed between the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology of India and Hitech Industry of Armenia and the Ministry of Information, Communication Technology, Utilities and Energy of Antigua and Barbuda. Digital transformation. The MoU aims to promote closer cooperation and exchange of experiences and digital technologies-based solutions in the implementation of digital transformation initiatives of both the countries. It envisages better cooperation to promote employment opportunities in the IT sector. The MoU will remain in force for a period of three years.

17 Union Cabinet approved the signing of an MoU between India and Sierra Leone on cooperation in the field of sharing successful digital solutions implemented at population scale for digital transformation

 The Union Cabinet chaired by the  Prime Minister Shri  Narendra Modi has approved the MoU on Successful Digital Solutions Implemented at Population Scale for Digital Transformation between the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology of India  and   the Ministry of Information and Communications of  Sierra Leone. Approved the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on June 12, 2023 in the field of sharing. The MoU aims to promote closer cooperation and exchange of experiences and digital technologies-based solutions (such as India Stack) in the implementation of digital transformation initiatives of both the countries. The MoU envisages better cooperation promoting employment opportunities in the field of IT. The MoU will be effective from the date of signing between both the parties and will remain in force for a period of 3 years.

18 Kalaignar Magalir Urimaai Thogai Thittam in Tamil Nadu: Monthly Financial Assistance Scheme for Women

Tamil Nadu government  is all set to launch  the biggest social welfare initiative  Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai Thittam aimed at providing  monthly financial assistance . This scheme  will benefit more than 1.06 crore eligible women  who are heads of their families. Under this scheme, the eligible beneficiary   will receive an amount of Rs 1,000 monthly . This financial assistance will be transferred directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. To ensure easy access to funds, eligible women will be issued ATM cards, with the help of which they will be able to withdraw the allotted amount as per requirement.
