1 President Draupadi Murmu presented National Teacher Awards to 75 teachers in Delhi

President  Draupadi Murmu  presented   National Teacher Awards  to  75 selected teachers  at a function held in  New Delhi . This   includes  50 school teachers, 13 teachers from the Higher Education Department and 12 teachers from the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. From this year, teachers of the Department of Higher Education and Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship have also been brought under the ambit of National Teacher Award  . National Teacher’s Day is celebrated every year   on  5th September,  the birth anniversary of  Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. Is celebrated as. It aims to recognize the contribution of teachers in improving the quality of education in the country and enriching the lives of students. As awards, teachers are given certificates, silver medals and Rs 50,000 in cash.

2 Ministry of Tourism, Government of India in collaboration with United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) unveiled the G20 Tourism and SDG Dashboard

Minister of Tourism & Culture and Development of North Eastern Region  Shri G Kishan Reddy  unveiled the dashboard during a virtual ceremony.  Developed under India’s G20 presidency and  with insightful partnership with UNWTO experts, the dashboard is a testament to India’s commitment to sustainable tourism. It showcases best practices, thematic studies and insights from G20 countries.  It has been designed to achieve  all  the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) . SDG Dashboard India’s G20 presidency has a lasting legacy, demonstrating its dedication to global cooperation and sustainable development of the tourism industry around the world. The G20 Tourism and SDGs Dashboard serves as a comprehensive online public platform that houses the entire collective wisdom of the G20 Tourism Working Group. It   consolidates the Goa  Roadmapsurvey results, thematic studies and best practices from G20 countries. The SDG Dashboard provides observation-based insights into sustainable tourism practices and also provides a platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration and development.

3 Culture Corridor – G20 Digital Museum

Ministry of Culture  launches  Culture Corridor  to represent and celebrate the  shared heritage of G20 members and invited countries – G20 Digital Museum Has been conceptualized. The project is based on India’s G20 theme ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ and Culture Working Group (CWG)’s hallmark campaign ‘Culture Unites All’. Culture Corridor – G20 Digital Museum is an international project organized for the G20 Leaders’ Summit in India. The exhibition will be unveiled at Bharat Mandapam, the venue of the G20 Leaders Summit, on 9 September 2023 and will be open to the public after the Leaders Summit. The second level of the Bharat Mandapam will feature both physical and digital displays of iconic artworks from all 20 member countries and 9 guest countries. These submissions are spread across five categories: artworks of cultural significance, iconic masterpieces, intangible cultural heritage, natural heritage and democratic practices. Notable performances include Magna Carta from UK, Panini’s Ashtadhyayi from India, These include the Mona Lisa from France, the Gutenberg Bible from Germany, the Kotliqui statue from Mexico, and more. The Culture Corridor-G20 Digital Museum, a heritage project, aims to create a collaborative museum that celebrates global heritage.

4 Personalized Adaptive Learning (PAL) to be integrated into DIKSHA

 The National e-Governance Division (NeGD)  , part of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology plans to integrate Personalized Adaptive Learning (PAL) into  the existing  Digital Infrastructure for Knowledge Sharing (DIKSHA) platform. PAL uses AI-powered software to provide students with a tailored learning experience based on their individual needs and abilities. DIKSHA, under the Ministry of Education, provides e-content to schools through an online portal and mobile app. Despite its usefulness, Deeksha lacks dynamic content. The integration of PAL aims to enhance learning outcomes by identifying gaps and bringing students back to fundamental concepts.

5 primatologists propose re-routing of railway track passing through Hulongapar Gibbon Sanctuary in Assam

Primatologists  have  proposed changing the route  of  the 1.65 km long railway track  that   divides the Hoolongapar Gibbon Sanctuary  in  eastern Assam into two unequal parts. The western hoolock gibbon is found in this sanctuary. Gibbons are found in the tropical and subtropical forests of Southeast Asia and are known as the smallest and most intelligent of all apes. Like other apes, they have sharp intelligence, distinct personalities, and strong family bonds. They represent one of 20 gibbon species found worldwide. The hoolock gibbon is the only ape species in India.

6 Karnataka’s initiative to tackle dementia

Karnataka is  committed to prioritizing dementia as  a  health concern  . Dementia is a broad term that includes diseases that  affect memory, cognitive abilities, and behavior  and interfere with daily activities. Alzheimer’s disease, the most common type of dementia. Recent estimates suggest that the prevalence rate of dementia among Indians aged 60 years and above is 7.4%, i.e. a total of about 9 lakh persons. This number is estimated to increase from 88 lakh in the year 2016 to 1.7 crore by the year 2036. Risk factors for dementia include smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, physical inactivity, social isolation, head injury and conditions such as diabetes, hearing loss, depression, obesity and hypertension.

7 Abrogation of Article 371D casts uncertainties over Andhra Pradesh’s ‘local quota’

Article 371 of the Constitution makes “special provisions” for 11 states in the country, including six states in the Northeast (Tripura and  Meghalaya) . except) included. International Cruise Terminal  at  Visakhapatnam Port  inaugurated  on September 4  by Minister of State for Tourism  Shripad Yesso Naik , Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways  Sarbananda Sonowal, in the presence of VPA President Dr. M. Angamuthu, IAS, and other distinguished dignitaries. The International Cruise Terminal, now ready for operations, will serve as an important gateway for both domestic and international cruise tourism on the east coast of India. This world-class facility promises to provide a transformative experience for visitors while driving economic growth and benefiting local communities. The International Cruise Terminal will operate as a cruise terminal during the months of November to March, catering to the needs of passengers from all over the world. Additionally, during the remaining months from April to October, the berth will be used for coastal cargo operations. This historic project tourism development, Symbolizes India’s commitment to infrastructure development and promotion of environmental awareness. It stands as a testimony to the collaborative efforts between the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, which will contribute significantly to India’s tourism potential and economic prosperity.

External Affairs Minister  S Jaishankar  has  congratulated Pernpri Bahidha-Nukara  on   being appointed as the  new  Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand . The country’s new Prime Minister  Shretha Thavisin  administered the oath of office   to 34 members of his cabinet in front of King  Maha Vajiralongkorn .  Sreetha, representing the Pheu Thai party, was named as Prime Minister on 22 August.

10 An exhibition pavilion of the Reserve Bank of India at the venue of the 18th G-20 Summit in New Delhi

An exhibition pavilion of the Reserve Bank of India  is being set up  at the venue of  the 18th G-20 Summit in  New Delhi  . This conference will be held at Pragati Maidan on 9th and 10th September. The pavilion   will showcase UPI One World, Central Bank Digital Currency, Public Tech Platform for Frictionless Credit, RuPay on the Go and Bharat Bill Payment System. A video on RBI’s digital rupee and its journey will also be shown. A live demonstration of digital rupee transactions will be provided by select banks participating in the exhibition.

11. On the occasion of G20 Summit, a craft market will be seen in Bharat Mandapam of Pragati Maidan from 8th to 10th September.

 On the occasion of  the G20 Summit  in  New  Delhi  , a ‘ Crafts Market ‘ is being organized at the Bharat Mandapam  of  Pragati Maidan  from  September 8 to 10 . This craft market will showcase handicraft products from different parts of the country. In this, special focus will be given to One District One Product, GI-tagged items and products prepared by women and tribal artisans. Delegates and international media attending the summit will have the opportunity to purchase locally sourced products. The exhibition is being organized by the G-20 Secretariat in coordination with the Ministry of Textiles and State and Union Territory Governments.

12 National Museum of Modern Art to organize exhibition titled ‘Roots to Roots’ during G-20 Summit

The National Gallery of Modern Art   will organize an exhibition titled Roots to Roots  during  the G-20 Summit . In this, rare artefacts from across the country will be displayed. The objective of this exhibition is to bring the cultural pride of India on the world map. Indian artefacts and sculptures from various government museums and galleries will be displayed in the exhibition. The wives of the G-20 leaders will inaugurate the exhibition. Talking to reporters, Minister of State for Culture Meenakshi Lekhi said that India’s culture and heritage are more than five thousand years old.

13 India extended support to enhance legal and judicial capacities of Shanghai Cooperation Organization member countries

India has   extended support to enhance the legal and judicial capacities of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation-SCO  member states  . The 10th meeting of Law and Justice Ministers of SCO countries   was held through video conferencing. Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal stressed India’s commitment to the SCO Charter and its principles of mutual trust, respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, and mutual benefit. He said that this commitment is based on the Prime Minister’s vision that India has emerged as a world friend.

14 Telecom Regulatory Authority of India TRAI issues recommendations on issues related to FM radio broadcasting

Telecom Regulatory Authority of India  TRAI  has   issued recommendations on issues related to FM radio broadcasting . TRAI has recommended that private FM radio operators should be allowed to broadcast news and current affairs for ten minutes every hour. It has also recommended that the program code of conduct applicable to All India Radio for news content may be made applicable to private FM radio channels as well. It said that the annual license fee of FM radio channel should be separated from the non-refundable one time entry fee. The complete recommendations are available on TRAI’s website www.trai.gov.in.

15 IREDA signs MoU with Union Bank of India and Bank of Baroda for co-financing renewable energy projects

 Taking another step towards accelerating the development of  renewable energy in India  , the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA) has entered into an MoU with Union Bank of India (UBI)  and  Bank of Baroda (BoB)   on 5th September 2023.  MOU) signed. 16 France Announces Ban On Disposable Vapes

 To tackle  smoking and its associated health risks , France  is set to ban disposable electronic cigarettes  , commonly known as “ puffs ”. Prime Minister  Elizabeth Bourne  unveiled the plan, which is part of a larger strategy to curb smoking rates in the country. Often flavored with tempting options like ice candy and bubblegum, these disposable vapes have raised concerns about their appeal to teens and their potential to serve as a gateway to traditional smoking. The government aims to prevent smoking-related deaths, but has chosen not to impose further taxes on cigarettes.

17 Groundwater shortage in India will triple by 2080 due to global warming

A recent report shows that  groundwater depletion rates in India  will triple between 2041 and 2080  due to the effects of  global warming . Despite potential increases in rainfall, rising temperatures will increase demand on groundwater resources, posing a significant threat to the country’s water and food security. The study found that as temperatures rise, farmers intensify groundwater extraction to meet growing crop water needs, exacerbating shortages. To address this issue, the report recommends implementing policies such as rationing electricity supply, measuring electricity use, promoting regional water resources development, and rewarding farmers for groundwater recharge efforts. Efficient irrigation techniques and growing crops that require less water have also been suggested solutions.

18 Demand for adoption of Roman script for Kokborok language in Tripura

 A coalition of 56 organizations  in  Tripura , under the banner of  ‘ Roman Script for Kokborok Choba ‘, has taken to the streets demanding the adoption of the Roman script   for  the Kokborok language . The move comes as a culmination of decades of efforts by the indigenous community in the state to preserve and promote their native language. Kokborok is the language of the indigenous community of Tripura, spoken by about one-third of the state’s population. Its cultural and emotional significance for the people of Tripura cannot be underestimated. The demand for the Roman script for Kokborok stems from the need to ensure its survival and accessibility in an increasingly digital and interconnected world.

19 Morgan Stanley raises India’s growth forecast

Global investment bank  Morgan Stanley  has   expressed hope of increasing India’s growth rate . Morgan Stanley said that   after a sharp increase in the April-June quarter of  the financial year 2023-24, India’s growth rate   has been estimated at 6.4 percent for the entire financial year  . Earlier, Morgan Stanley had said that the growth rate would be 6.2 percent.

22 BCCI announces 15-member squad for One Day Cricket World Cup

National Teachers Day  is celebrated every year  on  5 September  to commemorate the birthday of  Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the country’s  first Vice-President and second President .  To celebrate this day, a variety of programs are organized in schools and colleges across the country to honor teachers. Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was born on September 5, 1888 in the then Madras Presidency of British India (now  Tamil Nadu It happened in (in). He was an Indian philosopher and politician and one of the most renowned scholars in the field of comparative religion and philosophy in India in the 20th century. In the eyes of Westerners, he had made an outstanding contribution towards a new contemporary Hindu identity. He had great respect for teachers and always believed that teachers are the real nation builders. 25 ISRO scientist Valramathi, who voiced the countdown for Chandrayaan-3 launch, passes away

 Scientist N Valarmathi, who voiced the countdown  of every launch mission at  the Satish Dhawan Space Center (SDSC)  in  Sriharikota  , has passed away in Chennai. He also gave voice to India’s successful Chandrayaan-3 mission launched on 14 July. This was his last countdown voice. Valaramathi was the director of the remote sensing RISAT-1 project in 2012. Valaramathi, a native of Ariyalur in Tamil Nadu, passed away due to a heart attack in Chennai.
