President  Draupadi Murmu  presented  the National Florence Nightingale Awards  for  the years 2022 and 2023  at Rashtrapati Bhavan  . 30 nursing professionals  were given prestigious awards for their dedication, duty and service. These awards are given for meritorious services to nurses and nursing professionals. It was established  in 1973  by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare .

2 Prime Minister Narendra Modi gives special gifts to President Joe Biden and US First Lady Jill Biden at the White House

Prime Minister  Narendra Modi  presented   special gifts to  President  Joe Biden  and US First Lady  Jill Biden  during their meeting  at the White House in  Washington  DC .  The Prime Minister presented Mr. Biden a handcrafted sandalwood box with intricately carved patterns of flora and fauna. This box   has been made by an experienced craftsman from Jaipur  using  sandalwood from Mysore .  The Prime Minister also gifted a lab-grown  green diamond of 7.5 carats to First Lady Jill Biden. This diamond is kept in a box made of paper mache which Showcasing  the special craftsmanship of Kashmir . Apart from this, the Prime Minister   also gifted a copy of the first edition of the English translation of the book Ten Principles of the Upanishads to President Biden. The co-authors of this book are Mr. Biden’s favorite poet  William Butler Yeats  and  Mr. Purohit Swami  .  The book reflects a shared appreciation for Indian spirituality and  the iconography of Gurudev Rabindra Nath Tagore . President by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Gifts presented to Biden include a Ganesha idol hand-crafted by the fifth generation of goldsmiths in Kolkata in a sandalwood box  And a lamp is included. Apart from this, silver coconut made by artisans of Rajasthan, twenty four carat gold coin and hallmarked silver coin have also been gifted in ten gifts.

3 PM participates in “India and USA: Skill Development for the Future” event with the First Lady of USA

Prime Minister  Shri Narendra Modi  and First Lady of USA  Dr. Jill Biden  participated  in an event on the theme ” India and USA: Skill Development for the Future ”  at the National Science Center in Washington DC . The event focused on redeveloping the workforce in higher education institutions to enhance and expand access to quality education across society. The Prime Minister highlighted various steps taken by India to promote education, skills and innovation. They appreciated the ongoing bilateral academic exchanges and collaborations between the Indian and US academic and research ecosystems.

4 US chip maker Micron to invest $825 million for chip assembly and testing facility in Gujarat

American  chip maker  Micron   will invest $825 million  to set up a chip assembly and test facility in  Gujarat . The total investment of Micron and the Central and Gujarat Governments in this project   will be 2.75 billion dollars . Micron said in a statement that the new assembly and test facility in Gujarat will be built in a phased manner, which is expected to start this year. The first phase is likely to be completed by the end of 2024.

Prime Minister  Narendra Modi  remains the most popular leader of the world. The Global Leader Approval Rating  released by  Morning Consult , a US-based advisory firm,   said that Mr Modi has   got a rating of 75 per cent . Switzerland  ‘s President  Alain Berset is at the second position in this rating index   followed by  Mexico  ‘s President  Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador  . US President  Joe Biden  is  ranked eighth  , while  UK  Prime Minister  Rishi Sunak is ranked 13th.  are on The latest ratings are based on data collected from 7th to 13th of this month. In the earlier ratings also, Prime Minister Modi was at the top.

6 Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Kanpur has successfully conducted a test flight for cloud seeding

Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Kanpur  has   successfully conducted a test flight for cloud seeding .  This project was started a few years ago under the leadership of Professor  Manindra Agrawal , Department of Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Kanpur. This experiment was started after getting permission from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation. During the test flight, an army aircraft was flown from Kanpur IIT which went up to a height of about 5000 feet. Under cloud seeding,  artificial clouds  are prepared for precipitation . In this  , silver iodide, dry ice, common salt and other ingredients  are used.

7 Major US company GE Aerospace signs MoU with Indian company Hindustan Aeronautics Limited

Major US  company  GE Aerospace  has signed an MoU with  Indian aerospace company  Hindustan Aeronautics Limited  to manufacture  fighter jet engines  for  the Indian Air Force . This big decision has been taken at a time when Prime Minister  Narendra Modi  is on a state visit to America. As per the agreement, GE Aerospace’s  F-414 engines  will be jointly manufactured in the country.  This will help in strengthening the Light Combat Aircraft MK-II of the Indian Air Force  . LCA Mk-II according to GE Aerospace  Eight F-414 engines have been provided to India as part of the ongoing development program for the . In addition, GE Aerospace will continue to collaborate with the Government of India on the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft MK-II engine manufacturing program. H. Lawrence Culp, President and CEO of GE Aerospace,   called this a historic agreement and said it was possible because of the long-term partnership with India and HAL. He said the company is proud to play a key role in President Joe Biden and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts for closer cooperation between the two countries.

8 IFFCO has started exporting world’s first Nano Urea made in India to USA

Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Limited-IFFCO  has started exporting the world’s first Nano Urea indigenously produced  in   India  to USA . IFFCO and Kapoor Enterprises  of  California  amid  Prime Minister  Narendra Modi ‘s visit to America  An agreement to export Nano Urea has been signed between Nano urea can be stored in less space and less cost. One 500 ml bottle of IFFCO’s Liquid Nano Urea is equivalent to one bag of conventional urea. In a tweet, Dr. U.S. Awasthi, Managing Director and CEO, IFFCO, said Nano Urea has huge potential to reduce chemical fertilizer use and control air and water pollution as well as save soil fertility. Is. So far, more than five crore seven lakh bottles of liquid nano urea have been sold in the country.

Indo-US Defense Augmentation Ecosystem – Indus X was  inaugurated   in Washington . The two-day event aims to  promote Indian and US defense startups, think tanks, investors and industries  . In his opening speech, US Air Force Secretary of Defense Frank Kendall referred to the growing Indo-US ties. He spoke of the potential for technology innovation between the two countries in areas such as space and artificial intelligence. Speaking on the occasion, Anurag Bajpai, Joint Secretary, Defense Industry Promotion, mentioned the importance of co-development and co-production of advanced technology. He also talked about Make in India initiative.

 The two-day summit of   the  G-20 Labor Working Group  began in Patna ,  the capital of  Bihar . In this, five task forces presented their reports related to social security for all, international migration, women workers, skill development and other issues. At the inauguration of the conference, various issues of labor reforms, labor problems and employment were discussed by the delegations of G-20 countries and other eight guest countries. Bihar Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar inaugurated the summit.

Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister  Narendra Singh Tomar  released   the  mobile app  of  PM Kisan Yojana  with face recognition system . Through this app, remote farmers can do e-KYC by scanning their face without OTP or fingerprint. On this occasion, Mr. Tomar said that PM-Kisan is an innovative scheme whose benefits are directly being given to eight and a half crore farmers. The Agriculture Minister said that PM Kisan is such a big scheme of the world in which farmers are sent Rs 6,000 in three installments directly to their bank accounts in a year. Under this, two lakh 42 thousand crore rupees have been deposited in the bank accounts of more than 11 crore farmers so far.

12. Fitch Ratings projects India’s economic growth at 6.3 percent for the current fiscal

Fitch Ratings  has increased India’s GDP  forecast   for the current financial year  from 6 percent to 6.3 percent . This is mainly due to higher production in the first quarter and a faster pace of production in the near term. Fitch has said that GDP growth in the January to March quarter was higher than expected and the manufacturing sector improved, the construction sector and agricultural production picked up. The rating agency has projected 6.5 percent growth for the financial years 2024-25 and 2025-26.

14 Alok Kumar appointed to ADB’s Advisory Group on Digital Technologies for Development

Alok Kumar , Corporate Officer and Senior Vice President,  Head of Global Smart City Business at   NEC Corporation and  President and CEO of  NEC Corporation India,  has been appointed as a member of the  Asian  Development Bank ‘s  (ADB)  High Level Advisory Group on Digital Technologies for Development , Which will be effective from May 1, 2023.

15 Hasmukh Adhia is the new chairman of GIFT City.

Senior retired bureaucrat and former Union Finance Secretary and Revenue Secretary  Hasmukh Adhia  has   been named as the Chairman of GIFT City Limited . This organization   is responsible for the development of Gujarat International Finance-Tech City, India’s first smart city located in  Gandhinagar  . Hasmukh Adhia took over the role of chairman from former Chief Secretary of Gujarat, Sudhir Mankad. Hasmukh Adhia has been appointed as the Director and Chairman of the Board of Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Limited (GSSL) and Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Limited (GMDC), in addition to serving as the Chairman of GIFT City.

16 Estonia legalizes same-sex marriage

In a significant progress towards inclusivity and equality,  Estonia  ‘s parliament   has passed an unprecedented law legalizing same-sex marriage , making it the first ex-Soviet country to do so. This progressive step reflects the country’s commitment to recognize and protect the rights of citizens. Estonia’s parliament recently approved an amendment to the Family Law Act, allowing two adults to marry “regardless of their gender”. Along with legalizing same-sex marriage,  amendments to the Family Law Act give  same-sex couples  the right to adopt children also provides. Previously, only married couples were eligible to adopt, but now single gay, lesbian and bisexual individuals can also file a petition to adopt a child in Estonia.

17 Unity Mall will be constructed in Dimapur

The central government has   allocated ₹145 crore  to  Nagaland  for the construction of   Unity Mall  in Dimapur . The objective of Unity Mall   is to promote and showcase the One District One Product (ODOP) offer of the state. This substantial funding is a significant component of the Union Budget 2023-24, which has allocated ₹5,000 crore for setting up Unity Malls across the country. The announcement came at an ODOP contact event, which was jointly organized by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Invest India and the Department of Industries and Commerce in Nagaland.

18 India-Myanmar-Thailand Trilateral Highway

The India-Myanmar-Thailand Trilateral Highway Project , an ambitious endeavor that aims to connect Kolkata with Bangkok  through Myanmar   , is set to significantly boost regional connectivity and cooperation. Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation  (BIMSTEC) Established under, this highway project holds immense potential for economic development, cultural exchange and people-to-people contact among the member countries. Established in 1997, BIMSTEC consists of seven member states including Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Thailand. The organization focuses on promoting cooperation among member countries in various fields such as trade, investment, technology, energy, tourism, agriculture, fisheries and others. The India-Myanmar-Thailand Trilateral Highway Project is one of the important initiatives under BIMSTEC, which aims to enhance connectivity and integration in the region.

19 Abadha scheme of Odisha

The Odisha cabinet  recently  approved a significant ₹1,000 crore increase   in the total cost outlay for the Abadha  scheme . The primary focus of the plan  is on Puri  , which   is famous for its magnificent Lord Jagannath Temple . With a current total cost outlay of ₹4,224.22 crore, the ABADHAA scheme   is one of the largest state sponsored projects for religious place development in India. ABADHA ( Augmentation Basic Amenities and Development of Heritage and Architecture)) The plan includes various ambitious projects aimed at changing the landscape of Puri. Some of the initiatives included in the ABADHA plan include creation of a heritage protection zone, implementation of the Shree Setu project, revival plan for the Musa river, establishment of the Jagannath Ballav pilgrimage centre, housing projects, augmentation of Puri lake. These initiatives are focused on preserving cultural heritage, enhancing the tourist experience and providing better facilities for residents and pilgrims.

20 Gender Gap Report 2023 released

The Gender Gap Report 2023 ,  released by  the World Economic Forum (WEF) , provides valuable insight into India’s progress in achieving gender equality. According to the Gender Gap Report 2023,  India ranks 127 out of 146 countries in terms of gender equality  . Although this ranking may sound modest, it   represents an improvement of eight places from the previous year . This positive change reflects the country’s commitment to address gender disparities. India has made significant progress in reducing the overall gender gap, with 64.3% of the gap successfully closed. However, further improvements are needed in empowering women in economic participation and opportunity.
