1.President inaugurates ‘festival of democracy’ program in Thiruvananthapuram  :-

President Shri Ramnath Kovind inaugurated the ‘festival of democracy’ program in the event of concluding the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of the Kerala Assembly in Thiruvananthapuram today (August 6, 2018) .

In his address on this occasion, the President said that the quality of politics, public life and democracy is a reflection of the essential elements of society. Kerala Assembly and its debates and discussions and human values ​​are mirrors of state traditions.

 

2.Proposal to interconnect inter-state rivers :-

National Water Development Agency (NWDA) has received 47 proposals from inter-State contacts from 9 states namely, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Odisha, Bihar, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Chhattisgarh. Out of these, the NWDA has completed the Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) of 36 Interstate Contacts with Pre-feasibility Report (PFR) and 3 Interstate contacts. List of inter-state contact proposals received and their current status is given in Annex .

Bihar’s Kosi-Mechi and old Gandak-Noon-Baya-Ganga DPR has been completed and sent to the Bihar Government. Technical-Economic Approval has been provided for Kosi-Machi link project by the Water Resources , River Development and Advisory Committee of the Ganga Protection Ministry.

 

3.Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari inaugurated the International Conference on ‘Sustainable Development through Recycling of Goods’ :-

The Union Minister of Road Transport , Highways and the Ganga Conservation Minister, Shri Nitin Gadkari inaugurated the international conference organized on ‘ Sustainable Development: Policy System through Recycling of Goods ‘ in the Overseas Center, here.

 

4.Britain announces new donation plan to meet the needs of the people of Indian origin :-

The UK government has announced a new plan to amend the law regarding donation and tissue donation in the country ,  which aims to fulfill the needs of its citizens of Indian origin.

The proposed new system of consent for donation of donation and tissue is likely to come into existence in the UK in 2020. It black ,  has been announced as part of a campaign for the Asian and minority ethnic people to help ,  who are awaiting organ Pratyoropn for long life protection.

 

5.Other Backward Classes Bill will be presented in Rajya Sabha today to give constitutional status to the National Backward Classes Commission :-

123rd Constitution Amendment Bill will be presented today for discussion and passage in the Rajya Sabha. Social justice and authority minister Thavarchand Gehlot will present this amendment bill to give constitutional status to the National Backward Classes Commission. The Lok Sabha has passed it last week. In an interaction with AIR, Gehlot appealed to all political parties to pass the Bill in the Upper House with unanimous consent.

There was a long demand for constitutional status to the OBC Commission. The Government of Narendra Modi had made an effort and with this consensus, this bill has been passed in the Lok Sabha. I would like to request all valid MPs to pass the Rajya Sabha with unanimous consent to demand that the OBC Commission be given constitutional status.

 

6.Iranian diplomat agreed on Saudi Arabia :-

Saudi Arabia has agreed to accept an Iranian diplomat as representative of Iran’s interests here.

Saudi Arab News Agency IRNA gave this information on Sunday. The relationship between Saudi Arabia and Iran is worse than the year 2016, in which it is being seen as a positive step to improve relations between the two countries.

According to IRNA , ” A trusted diplomatic source told Sunday that Saudi Arabia has agreed to grant visas to diplomats who protect the interests of Iran. Supervisors believe that it is a positive step taken in the direction of improving relations between Saudi Arabia and Tehran. ”

 

7.Prohibition of trade relations with Saudi Arabia, Canada :-

Saudi Arabia has said that it will ban commercial and investment relations with Canada. Saudi Arabia’s official news agency Saudi Press Agency said on Sunday this information.

Saudi Arabia has taken this step after the appeal of the Canadian Foreign Minister in which he demanded the release of civil rights activist arrested in Saudi Arabia.

According to Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Ministry statement, Saudi Arabia has asked Canada to recall its ambassador within 24 hours or to leave the country. “He will stop business and investment relations with Canada. He has the full right to take further action. ”

 

8.Netherlands wins World Cup women hockey title for the eighth consecutive time :-

Netherlands have won the World Cup women hockey for the eighth consecutive time. The current champions Netherlands defeated Ireland by six-zero in the final match in London last night. Spain defeated Australia 3-1 to win third place in the competition. Spain has won a hockey World Cup medal for the first time. India remained eighth in the competition.

 

9.Indian U-20 football team created history, 6 times world champion defeats Argentina :-

Even though football is not ruled by India, its under-20 team team surprised everyone by defeating the legendary Argentine team 2-1. The Indian team did their best, despite winning in 10 players, won the COTIF Cup football tournament. For India, Deepak Tangri scored the fourth and Anwar Ali scored in the 68th minute.

 

10.Sensex up 50 points to 37741, with the start of the Indian stock market :-

With the rise of the Indian stock market, it is getting started. On the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the index Sensex gained 50 points, at 37741, and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) index Nifty is trading 45 points higher at 11432 level. The fastest is in the shares of M & M and Vedanta Limited. M & M’s counter is trading at 942 level with a gain of 1.06 percent and Vedanta is trading 0.96 percent higher at 226.20 level. On the National Stock Exchange, the midcap index is 0.25 percent and the smallcap 0.24 percent rise.
