6.Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan convenes all-party meeting tomorrow before the budget session of Parliament :-

Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan has called an all-party meeting yesterday before the budget session of the Parliament. The government has also convened an all-party meeting to know the views of top leaders on relevant issues tomorrow. The first part of the budget session of Parliament will start from Monday with the President’s address to a joint meeting of the two houses. Budget will be presented on Thursday. During the session, the government will take initiative to pass the bill on giving constitutional status to three divorces and backward classes commission. The session will last till 9th. After a gap of about one month, the second part of the session will commence on March 5, which will run till 6 April.

 

7.Assam Government specially stressed on 12 major areas at Global Investor Conference in Guwahati on February 3 and 4 :-

8.Finance Ministry has allowed small finance and payment banks to implement the Atal Pension Scheme :-

The government has allowed small finance and payment banks to start an Atal Pension Scheme. The Finance Ministry statement said that the Reserve Bank has given license to start banking business in the country, with ten finance banks and eleven payment banks.

These include Ujjivin Finance Bank, Janalakshmi Small Finance Bank, Sunrise Small Finance Bank, India Post Payment Bank and Petty Mime Bank. Plans like the Atal Pension Scheme increase the number of pensioners in the society, while opening accounts of Rs 120 to Rs 150, benefits the small banks. The scheme was implemented in the year 2015, in which people from 18 to 40 years can join. Under this scheme, after the age of sixty years, there will be minimum fixed pension between Rs. 1000 and Rs. 5000 in line with the contribution.

 

9.United Nations Secretary-General urges to send Syria crisis dispute to International Criminal Court :-

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guttas has urged the Security Council to send the International Criminal Court to the Syrian crisis. They have also pointed towards serious violations regarding providing medical facilities to millions of needy including prevention of aid in war-torn Syria. In the Council’s report on human condition in Syria, Mr. Gutras has stressed upon the responsible people responsible for serious violations to take action under international laws and restore peace in the region. 10.Foreign fishing vessels in Sri Lankan watershands will now face heavy fines :-

Sri Lanka has increased the fine on foreign fishing boats in his watershed nearly a hundred times. There is already a dispute about the Indian fishing vessels coming in the sea waters of the country. Fisheries and Marine Resources Development Minister Mahinda Amaravira said that the Parliament of Sri Lanka has approved the amendments in the Foreign Fisheries Bots Regulating Act. Along with this, the way to increase fines on foreign fishing vessels in the country’s water bodies has become clear. Amaraavira said that the first 15 lakh Sri Lanka was a fine of rupees which did not prove to be effective. Foreign ships are not afraid of such a small fine. Now the new fine is 60 million Sri Lankan rupees and maximum penalty 17. 5 million Sri Lanka will be Rs. According to the new amendment, the penalty will be in proportion to the length of the foreign ships. In Sri Lankan waters, a minimum penalty of 40 million Sri Lankan rupees and a maximum of 15 million Sri Lankan rupees will be imposed on ships entering the license. Earlier this amount was 7, 50,000 Sri Lankan rupees.

 

11.Foreign exchange reserves at record $ 414.78 billion :-

For the sixth consecutive week, the country’s foreign exchange reserves rose for the sixth consecutive week and reached $ 414.78 billion at record levels with an increase of $ 9.91 million in the week ended January 19.
