2.Pakistan-backed terrorists-US intelligence chief can continue attacking India :-

US intelligence chief has said that Pakistan-backed terrorist organizations can continue the attacks within India. US intelligence chief Dan Coates warned against these attacks in the wake of terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. 

This comment from National Intelligence Director Dan Kotts came after the attack by Jism-e-Mohammad militants on the Suranjavya Army camp in Jammu. 

In his testimony presented to the Senate Selection Committee on intelligence, Cotes said that Pakistan should harm US interests by inducing its use of new nuclear weapons, by maintaining its relation with terrorists, preventing anti-terrorism cooperation and making China closer will continue.

 

3.The Pakistani army plays a major role behind terrorist incidents- Lieutenant General Devraj Agu :-

Indian Army has said that Pakistani Army plays a major role behind terrorist incidents in Jammu and Kashmir. 

On the headquarters of Udhampur in the Northern Command of the Army, Lieutenant General Devraj Aguo said that the Pakistani Army is directly involved in planning terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. Lieutenant General Ainu told that Hizbul Mujahideen, Jaish-e-Mohammad or Lashkar-e-Taiba terror organization are active here and in Kashmir. 

If anybody participates in activities against the country and raises the weapon, then he is a terrorist and he will be treated in the same way. He said that social media was also one of the reasons for the rise in terrorist incidents in the valley. More than that, Youth is joining militant organizations. We have to focus on this matter too.

 

4.Sher Bahadur Deuba resigns, Oli will be Nepal’s new prime minister :-

Nepal’s Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has resigned from his post. It is now believed that Khadga Prasad Oli will be the new Prime Minister of Nepal. 

Earlier, CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli was considered to be the next Prime Minister, because Nepal’s largest party had selected Oli for the post of PM. In parliament, parliamentary elections have been successfully completed in more than two months. Earlier, 65-year-old Oli has been responsible for the post of Prime Minister of Nepal from October 11, 2015 to August 3, 2016. 

In the meeting of the Standing Committee of the Party in Lalitpur, Oli’s name was selected for the post of PM. 

He is also the leader of the UML parliamentary party. Being the leader of the largest party in the House, Oli is the natural contender for the top post, However, for the majority, they will need support from the Maoists. With the leader of CPN Maoist Center Prachanda, a formal decision will be made on the formation of the government in the meeting.

 

5.After the retail inflation, wholesale inflation declined to 2.84 percent in January :-

After the retail inflation, there is still a relief on the wholesale inflation front. In January, wholesale inflation was at 2.84 per cent, which was 3.58 per cent in December. Inflation in primary articles was 2.37 percent in January, which was 3.86 percent in December. 

While talking about flu and power inflation, it has come down from 9.16 per cent in December to 4.08 per cent. Meanwhile, the increase in the manufactured product inflation has increased. It has increased from 2.61 percent in December to 2.78 percent in January. 

Talking of food articles, it was 3% in January. In December it was at 4.72 per cent level. In addition, its food inflation has also recorded a weakness in the month of January. It was 1.65 percent in January, which was 2.91 percent in December. 

Based on month-by-month basis, the core inflation in January increased from 3.1 percent to 3 5 percent. The month-on-month inflation in vegetables has declined from 56.46 per cent to 40.77 per cent in January.

 

6.NTPC gets Rs 560 crore contract from BHEL :-

Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd, a giant power generating company in the country, got a contract worth Rs 560 crore from NTPC for emission control equipment in Dadri, Uttar Pradesh . 

BHEL himself informed him about the Dadri 23,490 to supply Flu gas Dislfraijeshn system in Capital Power Station National MW and got totally order to locate him.

 

7.Winner of tennis in Asian Games will get direct entry into the Tokyo Olympics :-

Through Asian Games to be held in Jakarta, men and women singles tennis players will get the chance to qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympiad directly. ITF announced the launch of six continental qualifications space for tennis under the Tokyo 2020 qualification system which got the approval of the IOC Executive Board. 

Five men’s singles and doubles, women’s singles and doubles and mixed doubles competitions will be held in the 2020 Olympic Tennis Tournament. Every singles draw will have 64 players, out of which one can take up to four participants from one country. 

Like the previous games, 56 will get direct admission, whereas eight ITFs will be in which there will be six continental qualification places. However, the ranking of the players should be within the top 300 in the singles ranking by eight June 2020 and that particular country’s quota is not filled by four straight entries.

 

8.Prime Minister will inaugurate ‘World Sustainable Development Conference 2018’  :-

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 2018th edition of the World Sustainable Development Conference (WSDS 2018) at the Vigyan Bhavan, capital on Friday 16th February. WSDS is the main platform of the Energy and Resource Institute (TERI), which strives to bring global leaders and thinkers together with sustainable development, energy and the environment.

In this conference, Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Minister of Industry and Commerce, Shri Suresh Prabhu, Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs, Mr. Hardeep Puri (Independent Charge), Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Shri Jayant Sinha, and several Chief Politicians Representatives of corporate place will participate.

 

9.The biggest conference of Pharma and India Medical Equipment Industry in the country ‘Bharat Pharma and India Medical Equipment 2018 started in Bangalore’  :-

Union Chemicals and Fertilizers and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anant Kumar has said that Ayushmann Bharat Health Insurance, popularly known as Namo Care, has the potential to develop India as the world’s largest pharmaceutical manufacturer in the next three years. 

Mr. Anant Kumar was speaking at the inauguration of ‘ Bharat Pharma ‘ and ‘ India Medical Equipment 2018 Conference & Exhibition ‘ in Bangalore .

This three-day conference was organized by the Department of Drugs under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers in association with the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. 

In the conference, ‘Bharat Pharma and India Medical Equipment’ awards were announced for excellence in the field of medicine and medical devices. Addressing the big names of the pharma industry and international drug regulators in the conference, Shri Anant Kumar said that Ayushman India will prepare an ambitious framework to ensure affordable and quality healthcare for all. 

He said that under Ayushman India, the government has decided to provide health insurance cover of 5 lakh rupees per year to 50 crore poor people of the country. The government will implement ‘NaMo Care’ in the next three months with the speed that will increase the pace of monetary policy, Ujwala plan, Neem coated urea has a successful initiative. 

The Union Minister said that the Government hopes that a huge health scheme like NaMo Care will make the country’s medicine of $ 65 billion and the medical device industry of $ 12 billion will be doubled in the next five years.  

 

10.PFRDA identified 21 banks as excellent producers under the Atal Pension Scheme Access Program; Atal Pension Scheme Clients Number Above 86 Million :-

In order to bring the financially backward classes of the society to the realm of income security in pension or old age, the government started the Atal Pension Scheme (APY) in May 2015.

Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) runs the API access program on regular basis with the financial services department of the Finance Ministry. 

PFRDA has signed a Memorandum of Understanding for all the public sector banks, private sector banks, regional rural banks, co-operative banks (urban and rural) and postal department and managing director for registration of customers under API for a fortnight during December 2017. Launched Excellence Producer Campaign. 

Under this campaign, source of APIs of 6 lakh Atal Pension Scheme accounts was API Service Provider Bank. During the campaign, various banks were targeted. Out of the total 21 banks achieving the target under the campaign, 6 public sector banks, 14 regional rural banks and 1 co-operative bank were included. PFRDA has planned to reward the top management of the winning banks at the upcoming PFRDA Pension Conference.
