Royal Challengers Bangalore  ended   the franchise’s trophy drought by winning the  Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024 title. RCB, which  started playing league cricket  in 2008,  got success after 16 years with the women’s team. The team reached the final of the Women’s Premier League (WPL).   won the title by defeating Delhi Capitals (DC) in the final of the Women’s Premier League (WPL). Former men’s team captain Virat Kohli congratulated women’s team captain Smriti Mandhana on RCB’s victory.

2 Rajasthan government will distribute free millet seeds to farmers

Recently,  Rajasthan Government  has   decided to distribute free seeds of  millets/millets and coarse grains   to the farmers of the state  to promote millet production . The state government  is providing free mini kits of maize seeds to 12 lakh farmersmillet seeds to 800,000 farmersmustard seeds to 700,000 farmersmoong seeds to 400,000 farmers  and  jowar and moth seeds to 100,000 farmers.  will provideRajasthan’s share in the total millet production of the country is 26%. Millet and sorghum are the main millet crops produced in the state and 41% of the country’s millet production takes place in Rajasthan. The state government had launched Rajasthan Millet Promotion Mission in the year 2022-23 and made a provision of Rs 40 crore for setting up 100 primary processing units by farmers, entrepreneurs and voluntary organizations. PM Kisan Samman Nidhi has been increased from Rs 6,000 to Rs 8,000 per farmer per year, while the minimum support price on wheat has been increased to Rs 2,400 per quintal by giving an additional bonus of Rs 125 per quintal.

3 Startup Mahakumbh will start from today at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi

Startup Mahakumbh   will start at Bharat Mandapam  in  New Delhi . This program   will continue till March 20 . There will be different pavilions of different startups in this event, which will include many special pavilions like AI, B2B, Agritech, Deeptech, Climate Tech, Gaming, e-Sports, Fintech. The objective of this Mahakumbh is to connect capitalists and investors with Indian business. Rajesh Kumar Singh, Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade- DPIIT, said that India is the country with the third largest startup ecosystem and the list of new startups is increasing in large numbers every day. Mr Singh said that the Prime Minister is expected to attend this programme.

5 Vladimir Putin registered a historic victory in the presidential election for the 5th term

Russian President Vladimir Putin  elected   for  fifth term registered a historic victory in the presidential elections Mr. Putin has welcomed his predetermined election victory, calling it a symbol of the country’s faith and hope in him. He has got 87 percent of the votes counted in 80 percent of the provinces. With this he will be the President for a further term of six years. Election officials said other candidates got less than 5 percent of the votes. In the presidential election, Communist candidate Nikolai Kharitonov came second and new candidate Vladislav Davankov came third.

6 Strawberry Festival will be organized in Meghalaya between 5-13 April

 To promote the cultivation of  Meghalaya  ‘s famous  strawberry fruit, the state’s transportagriculture and farmer welfare departments  are jointly organizing  the Strawberry Festival from  April 5 to 13.   organizeStrawberry is a sweet and juicy fruit, which is famous for its special taste. During the program, farmers will be encouraged to do strawberry gardening. The state horticulture department has planted strawberry plants under various central and state government schemes. The strawberry planting season has started in the state.

7 RBI imposed fine on Bank of India and Bandhan Bank

8 Fitch raises GDP growth forecast to 7% in FY25

 Global rating agency  Fitch has increased  India’s economic growth forecast  for fiscal year 2025 from 6.5% to 7%.  IndiaFitch said India’s economic growth will be supported by strong domestic demand and increased investment. The rating agency has also predicted retail inflation to fall to 4% by the end of 2024. Fitch expects the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to cut the repo rate by 0.5% between July and December.

9 Election Commission declared disabled archer and Arjuna Awardee Sheetal Devi as National Disabled Icon.

The Election Commission  has   declared disabled archer and Arjuna Awardee Sheetal Devi as  the  National Disabled Icon . An announcement to this effect was made after an exhibition match between the Indian Deaf Cricket Association  team and the Delhi and District Cricket Association team held in Delhi  . The Election Commission   had organized this match with the courtesy of the Board of Control for Cricket in India . Its purpose is to promote voter education and inclusion. On this occasion, Chief Election Commissioner  Rajeev Kumar  and other two commissioners  Gyanesh Kumar and Sukhbir Singh Sandhu  were present on this occasion. On the same occasion, the Election Commission also released voter guidelines booklet for disabled sports persons and senior voters.

10 Mumbai won Ranji Trophy 2024 by defeating Vidarbha

Mumbai won the Ranji Trophy 2024 by defeating Vidarbha by 169 runs   at  the Wankhede Stadium  in  Mumbai . This was their 42nd Ranji Trophy title, indicating their dominance in Indian domestic cricket. Mumbai ended their eight-year losing streak by winning the championship after last winning the title in the 2015–16 season.

11. India’s Ramkumar Ramanathan won the singles match by defeating compatriot Karan Singh in the ITF M-25 Tennis Tournament.

 India’s  Ramkumar Ramanathan  won   the singles match by defeating compatriot Karan Singh  6-2  , 6-2 in the ITF M-25 tennis tournament  in  New Delhi . This is Ramkumar Ramanathan’s fourth consecutive win in M-25 tournaments. Whereas Karan Singh entered the final by defeating top seed Donskoy 6-3, 6-4 in the semi-finals. Yesterday, the pair of Vishnu Vardhan and Siddhant Banthia won the title in the doubles match. On the other hand, Srivalli Rashmika Bhamidipati was the runner up in the women’s W-35 singles match in Indore. She lost in the final against Slovenian Dalia Joukupovic in straight sets. Earlier, Srivalli along with Vaidehi Chaudhary had won the title by defeating the fourth seeded pair of Y. H. Lee and S. Park in the doubles final match of the same tournament.

12 Formula-4 car show organized on the banks of Dal Lake, Srinagar.

Prime Minister  Narendra Modi  has said that  the beauty and progress of Jammu and Kashmir  will be seen  in the future with   the first  Formula-4 car show organized on the banks of Dal Lake in Srinagar. In a social media post, Mr Modi said this provides a great opportunity for India motorsports to flourish. The first Formula-4 car show was held yesterday on the banks of Dal Lake in Srinagar. With an aim to promote local tourism and encourage multi-career options for the youth of Jammu and Kashmir, the  Tourism Department  and  the Indian Racing League  jointly organized a Formula 4 racing event on the banks of Dal Lake on Sunday. The 1.7 km long  Formula-4 car race was held from Lalit Ghat to Nehru Park on the banks of Dal Lake in Srinagar.
