1 Parliament passed the Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order (Fifth Amendment) Bill to include certain communities in Chhattisgarh in the Scheduled Tribe category

The Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order (Fifth Amendment) Bill, 2022 was discussed in Rajya Sabha   and then the bill was passed by voice vote. The Bill includes  Dhanuhar, Dhanuwar, Kisan, Saunra, Saunra and Binjhia communities  in  the list of Scheduled Tribes  in  Chhattisgarh . It is proposed to include There is a provision in the bill to consider Bhuinya, Bhuiyan and Bhuyan communities as part of Bharia Bhumia community. The Bill also proposes to include three Devanagari versions of the names of the Pando community. The discussion was started by Niranjan Bishi of Biju Janata Dal. Supporting the bill, he said that it is in the interest of the tribes of Chhattisgarh. He said that the development of tribal communities is directly related to the progress of the country. Sameer Oraon of BJP said that the Central Government has taken several initiatives for the welfare of Scheduled Tribes by focusing on education, health and employment. Another party MP Saroj Pandey raised the issue of alleged forced conversions of Scheduled Tribes in Chhattisgarh, saying the community’s culture has been repeatedly attacked through this.

2 S Phangnon Konyak became the first woman member to chair the Rajya Sabha from Nagaland

 BJP’s Rajya Sabha member from  Nagaland S Phangnon  on Tuesday  became the first woman member  from  Nagaland  to  preside over the Rajya Sabha. became. 3 Bombay, Andhra Pradesh High Courts get new Chief Justices

 The President has appointed Justice  Devendra Kumar Upadhyay  and Justice  Dhiraj Singh Thakur as the Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court  and  the Andhra Pradesh  High Court ,  respectively  . In exercise of the power conferred by the Constitution of India, the President, after consultation with the Chief Justice of India, vide notification of even number dated 24.07.2023, has appointed the Judges of the High Courts as Chief Justices of the High Courts.

4 Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia inaugurated the Indian Flying Academy and Fly Ola Aviation Academy in Khajuraho, MP

Union Civil Aviation and Steel Minister  Jyotiraditya M. Scindia  inaugurated   the Indian Flying Academy  and  Fly Ola Aviation Academy  in  Khajuraho  ,  MP . The 5th Helicopter and Small Aircraft Summit  has also been organized on the occasion  . Shri Scindia   also launched RCS Udaan 5.2  and  Heli Seva-App during the event. At the same time, the 5th Helicopter and Small Aircraft Summit   is being jointly organized by the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of Madhya Pradesh , Pawan Hans Limited and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry – FICCI. 5 Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Foreign Trade of the United Arab Emirates, presides over the 13th Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization

Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi, UAE  Minister of Foreign Trade,   has   been elected President of the 13th Ministerial Conference  of  the World Trade Organization (WTO) . This conference   will be held in  Abu Dhabi  in  February 2024 .  This announcement was made at the General Assembly meeting of the World Trade Organization in Geneva .  At the meeting, Dr. Al Zeyoudi met with WTO Director-General  Goji Okunjo Iweala . Representatives of 164 countries will participate in the February 2024 conference. In the conference, the business system will be reviewed and the outline of the next conference will be decided.

6 Chhattisgarh government started rural housing justice scheme

CM  Bhupesh Baghel  announced the launch of a new rural housing scheme named Gramin Awas Nyay Yojana  on July 19 to provide free housing facilities to the poor.  A new housing scheme named Gramin Awas Nyay Yojana has been launched by the Government of Chhattisgarh , CM Bhupesh Baghel with the objective of providing free housing facility to the poor in the state. Gramin Awas Nyay Yojana will cover those families who are not eligible for PM Awas Yojana on the basis of 2011 SECC based on the new survey conducted by Panchayat and Rural Development Department.

7 Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu launched the Sashakt Mahila Loan Scheme of Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative Bank

Chief Minister  Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu  launched the Sashakt Mahila Loan Scheme  of  Himachal Pradesh  State Cooperative Bank  in Shimla  . Under this scheme, women who are permanent residents of Himachal Pradesh   will be provided collateral-free loans to set up their own enterprises, start livelihood activities, meet everyday needs and uplift their families. 8 China replaces Foreign Minister Qin Gang with Wang Yi

The Chinese government  has   sacked Qin Gang  as  foreign minister . Wang Yi  has been appointed foreign minister in his place  . China’s official news agency Xinhua reported that the country’s top legislature voted in favor of making Wang Yi foreign minister. This news has come to light after his absence for the last one month. The report gave no reason for Qin Gang’s removal, but said President Xi Jinping has signed an order to implement the decision.

9 The International Monetary Fund projected India’s growth rate to increase to 6.1 per cent in the current financial year.

The International Monetary Fund -IMF  has   increased  India   ‘s  economic growth forecast to 6.1 per cent in the current financial year . In the report released on the global economic scenario in April,   the IMF had predicted India’s economic growth rate to be 5.9 percent in the current financial year. IMF in its latest report has increased it by zero point 2 percent. IMF says India’s economic growth is set to pick up pace in the fourth quarter of 2022 as a result of higher-than-expected investment domestically. IMF has kept India’s economic growth forecast unchanged at 6.3 per cent for the fiscal year 2024-2025. India has also retained its status of the fastest growing economy.

10 Byculla Railway Station gets UNESCO’s Asia Pacific Cultural Heritage Award

Union Minister of Railways  Ashwini Vaishnav  calls   on  Ms. Shaina NC and her team and Central Railway  for winning the  UNESCO Asia-Pacific Award  for  Heritage and Conservation  by bringing back the glory of the early architecture of  169 year old Byculla Station Congratulations to The award was announced in November last year. The work on the now redesigned project of this station was started in July 2019 and the entire planning and work was completed on April 29 last year. Minister of State for Railways Raosaheb Dadarao Patil Danve inaugurated the new look of the station building. Byculla station today stands proudly as a symbol of history and heritage and has state-of-the-art facilities. BJP leader and spokesperson Shaina NC, an NGO ‘ I Love Mumbai ‘  started the restoration work of the said station with the help of heritage conservation architect  Abha Lamba  and  Minal Bajaj  of  Bajaj Trust , who participated in the conservation work.

11 Parliamentary committee recommends setting up of dedicated cultural heritage squad to bring back stolen antiquities from India

A parliamentary panel   has recommended setting up a special cultural heritage squad  after recovering  stolen antiquities . It will have a team of officers who will be trained as antiquarians in various aspects of restoring ancient remains in different countries. The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Transport, Tourism and Culture has presented its report in both the Houses of the Parliament.

12 Indian Pharma industry is the third largest industry in the world

The turnover of Indian pharma industry has increased to more than three lakh 44 thousand crore rupees   in 2021-22  . In 2017-2018, it was Rs 2 lakh 26 thousand crore. Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers  Bhagwant Khuba  gave this information in the Rajya Sabha. He said that the Indian pharma industry   is the third largest industry in the world . Pharmaceutical companies produce over 60,000 generic drugs in 60 therapeutic categories. Shri Khuba urged for encouraging domestic manufacturing of pharmaceutical drugs including generic drugs.

13 India is the second largest producer of fruits and vegetables in the world – Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar

Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister  Narendra Singh Tomar  has said that the prices of vegetables have increased not due to shortage in supply but due to climate related calamities. In a written reply in Lok Sabha, he informed that  India is the second largest producer of fruits and vegetables in the world  and there is no shortage of supply of vegetables. The occasional fluctuations in prices are mainly due to supply disruptions due to unseasonal rains, heat wave and other climatic calamities. He said that the total horticulture production of the country is estimated to exceed 350 million tonnes in 2022-23. Which is the highest ever.

14 More than 176 GW of renewable energy capacity installed in the country

 A total of over  176 GW of renewable energy capacity  has been installed in the country till last month  . New and Renewable Energy Minister  RK Singh  gave this information in the Rajya Sabha. He said that work on renewable energy projects of about 89 GW capacity is underway. He said that more than 51 GW capacities are under various stages of tender.

15 Jaguar Land Rover appoints Adrian Mardell as CEO for three years

Tata Motors-  owned  Jaguar Land Rover (JLR)  has   appointed Adrian Mardell as chief executive officer for a three-year term. Tata Motors said in a notice sent to the stock markets that he was appointed as the interim CEO on November 16, 2022 and was a member of the board of directors of JLR three years ago.

16 Ashok Leyland bags orders worth Rs 800 crore from the Indian Army

Ashok Leyland , the commercial vehicle manufacturer,   recently   disclosed defense contracts  worth  Rs 800 crore .  These contracts include the supply of specialized 4×4 field, artillery tractors and 6×6 gun towing vehicles to the Indian Army within the next 12 months  . The vehicles are designated for use by artillery battalions of the Indian Army to efficiently transport light and medium guns. 17 HDFC Bank becomes second most valuable company, TCS slips to third position

HDFC, the country’s second largest bank,  has  now   become the second largest company  in terms of  market capitalisation . HDFC and HDFC Bank merged on 1 July. HDFC Bank has overtaken IT giant  Tata Consultancy Services (TCS)  to become the second most valuable company by market capitalisation. Due to the merger of HDFC Limited with HDFC Bank, there has been a change in the ranking in the banking sector of the country. HDFC Bank   has now also become the most valuable bank in the country in terms of country capitalisation . It is followed by ICICI Bank and State Bank of India.

18 Central Government appointed Satpal Bhanu as Managing Director of Life Insurance Corporation

Satpal Bhanu , presently  working as Additional Regional Manager in the Zonal Office of Life Insurance Corporation of India at Bhopal  , has been appointed as the new Managing Director of the company. He will take over from Siddharth Mohanty, who has been appointed as the chairman of the firm in April, 2023. The appointment of Satpal Bhanu as Managing Director of LIC is effective from the date he assumes charge till the date of his superannuation, which is December 31, 2025, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

19 India-Argentina: Agreement on helicopter cooperation for the armed forces

20 India finishes second in medal tally at ISSF World Shooting Championships in South Korea

India finished second in the medal tally  in   the   recently concluded  ISSF Junior Shooting World Championships-2023 in Changwon , South Korea  . Indian shooters   won a total of 17 medals including 6 gold, 6 silver and 5 bronze . The championship saw participation of 90 shooters in pistol, rifle and shotgun events under the age of 21 years. Most of the medal winners had participated in the Khelo India tournament. 7 shooters from India were successful in winning more than one medal. Abhinav Shaw  and  Kamaljeet  won  two gold  medals each. sinyam won gold medals in the women’s 10m air pistol event, bronze medals in the 10m air pistol mixed team and women’s team events.
