1.Saudi Arabia raises 5,000 Haj quotes in India :-

Union Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that the Saudi Arabian government has increased the Haj quota of India by 5,000 and now it can record 1,75,025 Indians on Haj This is the highest Haj quota for India till date. He credited the increase in the Haj quota given the strength of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s strength in relations with the Arab countries, especially Saudi Arabia. Naqvi said in a statement that before India’s Haj quota of 1 lakh 36 thousand 20 which was an increase recorded in the past two years, 1 million 75Has become thousand.

 

2.Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the Davos Conference in Switzerland on January 22 :-

PM Narendra Modi will go on a two-day visit to Switzerland on January 22 and will deliver the lecture in the full session of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos. More than 100 CEOs will also be attending the conference, along with Prime Minister Modi, six Indian ministers , two Chief Ministers and several top officials . This is the first participation of any Indian Prime Minister in the WEF over the last two decades. In the year 1997 , the then Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda participated in the Davos Conference. Announcing the visit of the Prime Minister, the External Affairs Ministry said in a statement that Modi will also make bilateral talks on 22 January with Chairman of the Swiss Confederation, Allan Burset.

 

3.China’s heavy snowfall devastated, 21 people die :-

The continuation of the ongoing havoc in China for the last few days. Due to snowfall, people are forced to withstand the losses due to their home , agricultural land and electricity facilities. 21 people have died due to deadly cold and lakhs of people have been affected. China’s National Commission for Disaster Mitigation said that most of the districts of Jiangsu , Hubei , Hunan , Shanxi Province and Chongqing municipalities have suffered damage. The Commission said that more than 3,700 people were sent to safer places and 14,000 people needed emergency assistance. More than 700 houses fell due to heavy snowfall and about 2800Houses have been damaged. Due to adverse weather, 233100 hectares of farmland affected and 8100 hectares of crop was affected. In this way, 5.5 billion yuan ( $ 8.54 million) of economic loss has occurred. 19 expressways were closed or controlled in the Northeast Liaoning Province .

 

4.Dharma-Dhamma International Conference will include hundred scholars from 11 countries :-

In the International Convention Center at Rajgir, there will be about 100 eminent scholars from 11 countries , religious thinkers , teachers and researchers from the three-day International Dharma-Dhamma Conference that begins on January 11 . Nalanda University Vice Chancellor Prof. Sunaina Singh said that the January 13 conference will be inaugurated by President Ramnath Kovind on January 11 . Bihar Governor Satyapal Malik , Chief Minister Nitish Kumar , Sri Lanka Foreign Minister Ikal Marapana and Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of India Perti Suran will be the chief guest on this occasion. Also 13Chief guest of Arunachal Pradesh, Prema Khandu and Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Sushil Kumar Modi, will be the main guest of the closing ceremony on January. Pro. Singh said that this international conference is a part of the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the ASEAN-India Dialogue Partnership . He said the conference this matter is different in that it contains Buddhist general conferences , the participation of scholars and policy makers than Gyataon Vedic studies. The central theme of this conference is – State and social system in the religion-dhamma tradition. Through the seminars in the various sessions of the conference, the exchange of ideas will highlight the fact that the goal of all major religions of the world is to pave the way for human welfare.

 

5.India extends cooperation with Southeast Asia :-

India’s Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj traveled to three Southeast Asian countries , Thailand , Indonesia and Singapore while reinforcing India’s East East Policy . India , ASEAN is preparing for a Memorandical Convention on 25th of this month . Foreign Minister is trying to strengthen political , defense and economic partnership with this region . This year, all ten ASEAN leaders will be special guests at the Ganatantra Day celebrations of India.

 

6.Minister of State for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Dr. H. Virendra met the Prime Minister  :-

Minister of Political, Legal and Security Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Dr. H. Vironto, today called on Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

In December 2016, the Prime Minister recalled President Joko Widodo’s successful India visit, saying that he was excited about the forthcoming visit of President Joko Widodo in the second half of this month.

9.Indian Railways launches ‘new online vendor registration system’ in its research department RDSO :-

Keeping in mind the priority of making systems and processes digital and transparent, the research arm of Indian Railways – Research Design and Standards Organization (RDSO, Headquarters Lucknow) launched the new online vendor registration system. This new system has been developed after reviewing the RDSO’s working system by the Union Railway and Coal Minister, Mr. Piyush Goyal. Various changes have been made for registration under the new system, such as access to information of ordinary people, completion of process in a fixed time period, simplifying procedures, registration for full year, availability of information on RDSO website, at all levels Continuous monitoring, continuous updating of online statistics, ease of use of the website etc.

 

10.The first Migratory Parliamentary Conference was organized in New Delhi :-

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first Overseas Parliamentary Conference in New Delhi today. 11.World Bank relying on India’s potential, 7.3% growth forecast in 2018 :-
