1.India and Guatemala agree to cooperate with each other for the temporary membership of United Nations Security :-

India and Guatemala have agreed to cooperate with each other for the temporary membership of the United Nations Security Council.

The two countries have agreed on the benefits of ‘honorable’ and non-competitive bilateral relations. Guatemala will cooperate with India for membership of the United Nations Security Council for the year 2021-22 and the membership of Guatemala for India year 2031-32. This decision was taken in Guatemala on May 7, 2018 after extensive talks with Vice President Mr. Venkaiah Naidu, President of Guatemala, Vice President and Parliament Speaker of Guatemala. Mr. Naidu has detailed discussions on various issues with the top leaders of Guatemala. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 1972, this visit of Shri Naidu is the first high level visit between the two countries.

 

  1. 15th Asia Media Summit will be organized in New Delhi from 10th to 12th May 2018 :-

Image result for 15वे एशिया मीडिया शिखर सम्मेलनThe Ministry of Information and Broadcasting will organize the 15th Asia Media Summit (AMS) jointly with the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIIM) and Broadcast Engineering Consultant India Limited (Basil) from 10-12 May 2018 in New Delhi.

Union Information and Broadcasting and Textile Minister Smt. Jubin Irani will chair the inaugural function on May 10, 2018 and will be the chief guest in the program.

Amm 2018 Kuala Lumpur is located in the prestigious summit of the Asia-Pacific region of Asia-Pacific Institute of Broadcasting Development (Aaibeedi) and is being held for the first time in India. The focus of this Summit will be “Our Saga-Asia and Peacock” and it will be organized in two parts.

The workshop on the 8th and 9th of the month before the Summit and the Summit from 10th to 12th May 2018 is organized. The summit Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in the Asia region, international organizations such as UNESCO, FAO and the United Nations, regulatory, government and private TV and Radio Broadcasting Company, television channels and networks, educational institutions in the field of communications, media research, Community Radio Organizations, Journalists and Media and Broadcast Equipment Manufacturers will participate.

 

3.After all, the US has been separated from the nuclear deal 2015, Iran; France-Russia disappointed :-

Image result for US broke the nuclear deal with IranEventually, the US broke the nuclear deal with Iran. In spite of Iran’s warnings, US President Donald Trump decided to end the nuclear deal in 2015.

On Tuesday, the US made a press conference from the White House and announced the separation of the United States from the historic nuclear deal with Iran. However, shortly after the announcement of Trump, Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani said that his country would continue to be part of this nuclear deal without the US.

 

4.Ajinkya Rahane, Kings XI Punjab beat by 15 runs on home ground :-

Playing on their home ground in the match, Ajinkya Rahane’s team defeated Punjab by 15 runs in the match.

After this win Rajasthan got 8 points and it reached number six and Punjab remained at number three with 12 points.

 

5.Three-quarters H-1B visas received by Indians in 2016 and 2017 :-

According to the US US Citizen’s and Immigration Service (USCIS) latest report, about three-fourth of the total H-1B visas issued by the US in 2016 and 2017 will meet Indian technical experts.

China was the second place, with about 10 percent of the visa issued in the two years.

 

6.Disability inspector will be available at railway stations for the help of person with disability :-

Image result for दिव्यांगों की मददThe Ministry of Railways has decided to deploy the Disability Inspector at the major railway stations for the help of the Divas.

Under the guidelines issued last month by the Railway Board, such gentle and competent officers will be deployed as Disability Inspector, who will be always ready to assist the Devyang passengers. The names and mobile numbers of these officers will be displayed in the major locations at the station.

For the help of Divyang Passengers, Railway has already applied several measures to major stations under Divya Jan (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act, 1995. For example, a wheelchair is arranged for all major stations.

Apart from this, according to the National Building Code, there are provisions for separation of parking, gateway, ticket window, lift, canteen counter, public telephone toilet, ramps on climbing places and embroidery guidance platforms on platforms and information in Braille.

 

7.India and Guatemala signed the signing of an agreement to increase cooperation in the field of education :-

India and Guatemala have signed an agreement to strengthen diplomatic cooperation through foreign service institutions in the field of education.

This agreement was signed after the meeting of Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu in Guatemala and Vice President of Guatemala Jafeth Cabrera.

Speaking to the media in Guatemala, the Secretary of Eastern Affairs Ms. Preeti Saran said that in the meeting, various issues like trade, culture and economic development were discussed. He said that in the meeting, emphasis has been laid on key areas like cooperation in education, technology, conservation of wild animals, yoga, tourism and auto mobile.

Ms Saran said that the Vice President urged Guatemala to be part of the International Solar Coalition and assured all support for solar energy and retrieval energy. Vice President Antigua will meet Guatemala City’s Mayor Susanna Assencio Luayk and then leave for Panama.

 

8.The Center approved to set up one hundred additional one stop centers in nine states for the assistance of the affected women :-

Image result for women suffering from violence.The Center has approved the setting up of one hundred additional one stop centers in nine states for immediate help of women suffering from violence.

These states are Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Mizoram, Nagaland, Odisha, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh. The purpose of establishing these centers is to provide services to women suffering from violence, help of police, medical assistance, psychological and social consultation and legal assistance in one place.

After April, 2015, the Ministry of Women and Child Development has set up one hundred 82 centers under this scheme.

 

  1. Secretary General of India organized talks with Union Ministers  :-

Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Rashid Kutti Bidhinovich Alimov  reached New Delhi to interact with Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj and other Union Ministers. Alimov  has held talks on a wide range of cases.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will hold a bilateral meeting with Alimov in Delhi.

 

10.RBI announces bond purchase of Rs. 10,000 crores :-

The Reserve Bank of India ( RBI )   announced the purchase of government bondsthrough open market operations ( OMO ) of  Rs 10,000 crore ($ 1.50 billion) . This announcement was made after the failure to sell all the loans given to the bidders.

Before the declaration of the auction result, the 10-year government bond has increased 7.75% to 7.75%. Eligible participants will have to submit their proposals in the electronic format on the Reserve Bank of India Core Banking Solution (E-Kuber) system.

 

11.Third South Asian Junior Athletics Championship: India topped with 50 medals :-

Image result for South Asian Junior AthleticsIndia  topped the third South Asian Junior Athletics Championship in seven countries in Colombo, Sri Lanka on the last day  . India finished with 20 gold, 22 silver and 8 bronze medals (total 50 medals).

Host Sri Lanka won 12 gold medals in the competition with 10 silver and 19 bronze medals. Pakistan   remained third with a silver and bronze medal .
