1.SpiceJet launches freighter carrier :-

Economy airline company SpiceJet announced the launch of a freight carrier on Monday. Among the companies offering regular passenger airliners, it is the first to launch a carrier aircraft service.

Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha said in a press conference organized by SpiceJet today that it is a new beginning that it will increase the growth of the cargo sector. He said that the government is making a new cargo policy in which efforts will be made to find multi-functional logistics solutions. The carrier will be an important part of its service.

SpiceJet chairman and managing director Ajay Singh told that the launch of a carrier, Spice Express, will start from September 18 and the Boeing 737 aircraft has been leased for it.

 

2.Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of Bangladesh and Chief Ministers of West Bengal and Tripura jointly inaugurated three projects in Bangladesh :-

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Chief Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina, Chief Minister of West Bengal Ms Mamta Banerjee and Chief Minister of Tripura Shri Bipalv Kumar Dev unveiled three projects in Bangladesh through joint video conferencing. On this occasion, Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj and Foreign Minister of Bangladesh also joined the program with Delhi and Dhaka through video conferencing.

These three projects include 500 MW additional power supply to Bangladesh through the existing transmission line between Bheramampur of Bangladesh and Bahrampur of India, rail link between Akhaura and Agartala and restoration of the Colora-Shahbahpur section of Bangladesh Railway.

 

3.Novak Djokovic won the men’s singles title of American Open Tennis :-

Novak Djokovic of Serbia won the men’s singles final of the US Open Tennis. He defeated Argentina’s Huan Martin del Potro.

After taking only two points in the three service games before Del Potro, Djokovic beat him 5-3.

With this win, he has done 14 Grand Slam winners Pete Sampras. He is just behind three slams from Rafael Nadal and the record held by Roger Federer is six behind him.

 

4.ITBP Director General handed over a check of Rs 8.5 crore for the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund to the Prime Minister :-

Director General of India Tibetan Border Police Force Shri R. K. Pachchan met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and provided him a check of Rs 8.5 crore for the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund. This amount has been collected from the contributions of ITBP military personnel.

 

5.228 National Awards will be given tomorrow for outstanding work in rural development schemes :-

The Ministry of Rural Development, for various major programs such as Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) for rural employment and wealth creation, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana- Rural (PMAY-G) for Rural Housing, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna (PMGSY), Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana for Rural Livelihood – National Rural Life Mission (the Diawai NRLM), Deen Dayal Upadhyay for skill development of rural youth is running rural skills plan (DDU GKY), National Rrbn mission etc. aimed at poverty alleviation.

In order to introduce various programs of the Rural Development Ministry during the year 2017-18, identify the extraordinary functions of states, districts, blocks, organizations and individuals and in order to create a healthy competition in the future for better implementation and performance of programs. Ministry of Rural Development is organizing a National Award Program on 11th September, 2018 Ramin Development Minister Shri Narendra Singh Tomar award.

 

6.LCA Tejas’ air fuel refueling test successful :-

The task of filling the fuel (liquid fuels) in the air for LCA Tejas Mk-1 was successfully completed by the Base of Indian Air Force. This success is being seen as an important step for an important achievement and final operational acceptance.

Prior to this test, the work of dry fuel test was successfully completed on 04 and 06 September, 2018. The success of fuel refueling in the air will increase the capacity of the IAF’s Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) multiplied. This will allow the aircraft to operate in the air for a long time.

The Defense Minister has congratulated various agencies involved in this mission like DRDO-ADA, IAF, HAL etc. on this success.

 

7.Colonel Rajyavardhana Rathore (Retd) sends 9DNS vehicles to Doordarshan :-

Colonel Rajyavardhan Rathore (Retd), Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting and Sports and Youth Affairs (Independent Charge) flagged off the Doordarshan 9 DSNG vehicles here.

In order to increase the capacity of direct transmission from Doordarshan, it included 9 new C-band DSNG vehicles which are capable of adding HD signal. The cost of purchase of these vehicles through the global tender amounted to Rs 22.83 crore (Rs 2.54 crore per vehicle).

With the help of these DSNG units, the facility of telecasting of the Doordarshan from the North-East will be increased as 4 DSNGs will be deployed in Gangtok, Kohima, Imphal and Agartala. Apart from this, new DSNG units will be set up in Allahabad, Visakhapatnam, Chandigarh, Jagdalpur and Pune.

Doordarshan now has 34 DSP units which have been deployed across the country. Of these, 16 units work on C-band and 18 units work on Ku-band. However, these 34 DSLG units can uplink only 2 HD signals.

 

8.The various factions agreed in Libya for the ceasefire :-

Various armed groups fighting for control of Tripoli in Libya have agreed to fix a concrete formula for the ceasefire. United Libyan Mission UNSMIL gave this information on Sunday.

UNMIL tweeted, “On Sunday, all these groups agreed to check, monitor and investigate the activities of their Armed Forces to formulate a concrete formula for ceasefire and to plan to remove the Armed Forces from important and autonomous sites of Tripoli.”

Significantly, the United Nations had persuaded the various groups fighting in the Tripoli to ceasefire on Tuesday.

 

9.US Energy Minister will travel to Russia by September 11-13 :-

US Energy Minister Rick Perry will travel to Russia from September 11-13. Russian media provided this information on Sunday, quoting a diplomatic source.

According to Russian news agency Hours, Mr Perry will hold talks with Russian energy minister Alexander Novak on September 13. It will be the first Russia visit of any senior U.S. minister after meeting with US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki in July.

According to Russia’s newspaper CommerSant, the two ministers will hold talks on the Nord Stream 2 pipeline project of Russia. Through this project, the plan to move the Russian gas to the Baltic Sea to Germany. Mr. Trump has strongly condemned this project.

In addition, there is the possibility of discussing the position of the global oil market in relation to cooperation between OPEC and non-OPEC countries of Mr. Peri and Mr. Novak, the Organization of Petroleum Products Countries. It will have a direct effect on the restrictions imposed by the US on Iran and the new restrictions imposed on Russia.

 

10.Rajasthan Government Announces Value Added Tax – VAT to 4% on Petrol and Diesel :-

The Rajasthan government has reduced the value-added tax-VAT on petroleum products by 4 percent. With this, the price of petrol has reduced by two rupees to 21 paise per liter and two rupees of diesel has fallen 29 paise per liter. Our correspondent said that Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje announced this in a public meeting in Rawatsar of Hanumangarh district yesterday in the order of Rajasthan Gaurav Yatra.

Elections are going to be held in the state later this year and the Vasundhara government’s verdict is being seen as a major relief for the people. Now, the rate of VAT on petrol has decreased from thirty percent to 26 percent, while on diesel, the rate has gone up from 18 percent to 22 percent. Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje has said that this decision will give great relief to the common people especially farmers and women.

 

11.Scientists discovered the planet more than doubled in size :-

The international team of scientists has discovered a new new outer planet (Exoplanet) from Earth. It is about 145 light years away from the earth. Scientists from the US, Canada and Germany have found success in finding ‘Wolf 530 B’ with the help of NASA’s space telescope Kepler’s telescope. Scientists say that the Wolf 530 B is located in the Virgo (Virgo) constellation. This planet orbits its star every six days. Distance from its star of this planet, the planet near the Sun is about 10 times less than Mercury.

Professor Bjorn Bneke of Montreal’s University of Montreal said, “Wolf 530b is the only planet that has a radius near empty space. There is a star in it, which is sufficient for a detailed study. The study will be able to highlight its nature better. This will give us an important opportunity to know the full meaning of the super Earth and the sub-neptune’s populated population, along with the roots of the radius gap. ‘
