1.India refuses to join non-nuclear weapons nation as NTP

India, denying the possibility of joining non-nuclear weapons as a nation with the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), said that it is committed to the unilateral voluntary block on nuclear explosive testing.

India’s Standing Representative in Conference on Disarmament Amandeep Singh Gill said in the UN General Assembly that India does not have any question of joining NPT as a Non-Nuclear Weapon Country (NNWS). In discussions on nuclear weapons, he said that India’s stand on NPT is clear and there is no need to repeat anything on it.

Shri Gill said that along with this, India supports the strengthening and sustaining global non-proliferation goals, especially its countries by its complete and effective implementation, the countries which are responsible under the relevant agreements and treaties including the NPT.

 

2.India’s new ambassador to China, Gautam Bambawala

Veteran diplomat Gautam Bambawale was appointed as the new ambassador of India to China. Presently he is the High Commissioner of India in Pakistan. The Ministry of External Affairs announced this Thursday night. Before being appointed the High Commissioner of Pakistan in 2016, he was Ambassador of Bhutan.

The Ministry said that the batch of Indian batch of Indian batch of Indian batch (IFS) is expected to take over soon. He will replace Vijay Gokhale. UNESCO’s headquarters is in Paris. This organization of the United Nations has been working since 1946. It is known as marking world heritage. The United States did not make its contribution in the budget in 2011 against the decision to make Palestine a full time member of Palestine.

When asked about the withdrawal of US from UNESCO, the US representative in the organization and the US State Department did not make any comment.

 

4.Supreme Court refuses to ban ban on sale of firecrackers

The Supreme Court dismissed the petition of sellers for the removal of the ban imposed on sale of firecrackers in Delhi and NCR till October 31. These traders requested relaxation on October 9 order to stop the sale of firecrackers and allow them to sell them for at least a day or two on the festival of Deepawali before October 19.

A division bench of Justices AK Sikri and Justice Ashok Bhushan said that any relaxation on this restriction will be against the spirit of order passed by the apex court.

The bench also said that people will play fireworks purchased before October 9.

The court said that the fireworks which have been sold before the ban order, people will keep them and that will be enough. Anyway, it will not be Diwali without cracker.

Explain that these businessmen had said in their application that after the September 12 order of the court, they had renewed their license and they had asked for crackers for sale during Diwali. He also argued that he has invested a lot of money to buy firecrackers after the renewal of the license, and the new order of the court will have to face tremendous economic losses.

The apex court had banned the sale of fireworks till October 31, saying that its order on Sept 12 will be effective from November 1, due to temporary suspension of its ban on sale.

The court had said that the order of the apex court of November 11, 2016, should be given an opportunity to test its positive effect during Deepawali. Under this order only licenses for bulk and retail sale of firecrackers were suspended.

 

5.Prime Minister will inaugurate water extraction project and foundation stone of National Highway Projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation for four water extraction projects and four national highway projects in Bihar on Saturday. The cost of these projects is about Rs. 3769 crores.

According to information received from the Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Protection Ministry, the cost of four water extraction projects is about Rs. 738 crores. At the same time, the cost of four National Highway projects is about Rs.3331 crores. The length of these four national highways is 195 km.

During this program in Mokamah, other dignitaries, including the Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, along with the Prime Minister will be present.

Karmalikak includes the Jalmal Refinery Plant and the Jamal Network Construction in Saidpur. These projects will create 120 MLD new water purification plant capacity. Simultaneously, upgradation of existing 20 MLD capacity in Beur will be possible. According to information received from the Ministry, the construction of four laning of Ananta-Simaria section on NH31 and construction of six-lane road on Ganga Setu, on the basis of the four National Highway projects laid down by the Prime Minister. 1161 crores will be spent on this. At the same time, construction of four-laning of Bakhtiyarpur-Mokama section on NH31 will be Rs. 837 crores, while NH 107 will cost Rs. 736 crores for construction of two-lane road on Maheshwarkhunt Saharsa Purnia section. On NH 82, the cost of construction of two-lane road at Barabigha Mokama section of Biharshari will be Rs. 297 crores.

 

6.150th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi will be celebrated throughout the year

The government will celebrate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary. Jubilee celebrations will be celebrated between October 2, 2019 and 2nd October 2020. 8.India reached diesel-electric locomotive ship

9.Rupee up 19 paise against dollar
