The World Bank has approved an ambitious National Partnership Framework for five years to help in the transformation of India as a higher middle income country. This move of the World Bank is in line with the goals of India’s high , stable and inclusive development. The goal of this step is to help in the transformation of India as a higher middle income country. This will help in some of the major priorities of India’s development such as the efficient use of resources and inclusive growth and creating employment opportunities and assisting in the creation of human capital.

 

2. India contributed US $ 1 million in the ambitious solar power project –

India has contributed one million US dollars in the ambitious solar power project in the United Nations. This money will be used to set up a solar panel on the rooftop of World Organization headquarters building in New York. In a tweet, India’s permanent representative in the UN Syed Akbaruddin said in a tweet that this contribution would help in reducing carbon footprint and promoting sustainable energy. He said that India is the first country which has taken the first action on the call for action related to climate change of United Nations General Secretary Antonio Gutters. The United Nations has expressed gratitude for India’s move.

 

3. India-Sri Lanka second Twenty20 match due to rain –

A series of five T20 matches is being played between the Indian women team and Sri Lanka. The second match of this series was canceled due to rain. India won the toss in this match and decided to bowl. Due to rain, the match was delayed by half an hour. The statement of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, given to stop the ongoing movement against the SC ST Act, has given birth to a new debate. 5. MHA signs MoU with ISRO to set up an Integrated Control Room for Emergency Response –

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Department of Space signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for setting up of an state-of-the-art Integrated Control Room for Emergency Response (ICR-ER) in Ministry of Home Affairs. ISRO will render its technical expertise for setting up of proposed ICR-ER whereas the project will be executed under overall supervision of MHA. The proposed Control Room is expected to be established in next one-and-a-half year.

 

6. Inaugural Naval Flight Test Seminar held at Goa –

The inaugural Naval Flight Test Seminar was held at Goa on 20 Sep 18. The seminar witnessed some intensive brain-storming sessions on flight testing fixed and rotary wing aircraft towards integrating them on the aircraft carrier and small decks. There were also a series of papers which were presented on weapon integration on service aircraft and towards building and sustaining the training for Naval Experimental Test Pilots and Flight Test Engineers.

 

7. Govt appoints four members to local boards of RBI –

Rakesh Jain and Sachin Chaturvedi are among four people appointed members in local boards of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Jain and Chaturvedi have been appointed as member in Southern local board and Eastern local board of the central bank. Revathy Iyer and Raghvendra Narayan Dubey have been appointed as member in Northern local board of the central bank.

 

8. India welcomes welcome of non-atomic agreement between North Korea and South Korea –

India has welcomed the recently concluded India-Korea Summit from 18 to 20 September in Pyongyang. In a press release, the Foreign Ministry said that India has been consistent in dialogue and diplomacy to maintain peace and stability in the Korean Peninsula. India has hoped that such constant efforts will reduce the tension and clear the way to maintain peace and harmony in the Korean Peninsula.

 

9. Civil Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu ordered all the aviation companies and airports security checks –

Civil Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu has ordered a security check for all airlines and airports. This step has been taken after the incident when members of the crew of Jet Airways, going to Jaipur from Mumbai, forgot to open the switch to control the air pressure. Because of this, 30 passengers started bleeding from the nose and ears. It has been said in the official release that Mr. Prabhu has ordered the investigation of this incident of Jet Airways aircraft.
