4.Welcoming the New Year with excitement and enthusiasm :-
Worldwide celebration is being celebrated with New Year celebrations. People across the country have welcomed the New Year with enthusiasm and new resolutions. To celebrate the year 2017 and welcome the New Year 2018, various historical and important places were decorated and colorful lights were observed yesterday.
In the national capital Delhi people went to temples, gurdwaras and churches and prayed for happiness, peace and prosperity.
Thousands of people celebrated in Kolkata at the famous tourist destinations. Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation buildings in Mumbai were decorated in a charming manner.
New year was welcomed at various tourist destinations including Shimla in Himachal Pradesh.
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh welcomed the new year along with the Indo-Tibetan Border Police jawans and their families in Advani Chowki Matali in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand.
Shri Rajnath Singh will visit Nilong valley today in the northern part of Uttarakhand to China border. The advance border of the ITBP surrounded by high mountains in Nilonga is located at an altitude of 11 thousand 700 feet.

6.Tamil film actor Rajinikanth decides to form a new political party :-
Rajinikanth, a well known actor from South Indian films, has said that he will form a new political party and will contest the next assembly elections. On the occasion of concluding the three-day conference of his fans, he said that he would make his own party and stand his candidates for all the 234 seats in the next state assembly elections.
On the next Lok Sabha election, he clarified that he will clarify his stand only after the election announcement.

7.The first draft of the National Citizen Register published in Assam, comprising names of 10 million and nine lakh applicants :-
National Civil Register in Assam – The first draft of NRC was released on Sunday night. In this, more than 30 million applications are included in the names of one crore and nine lakh applicants. The NRC has been updated to detect people living illegally in the state.
India’s General Manager Shailesh said in Guwahati that about 11 million 39 million names have to be verified now.
Shri Shailesh said that “till now 10 million ninety lakh people have been verified and their names have been included in the National Citizen Register.” The remaining applications are being verified. We will prepare another draft as soon as their investigation is complete. As the Supreme Court has indicated, therefore, whose names are not included in the register, they do not have to be apprehensive. Everyone will get enough opportunities Other drafts will be prepared only after their verification is complete. “

Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has decided to sanction Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Padmavati with some changes.
The Board has confirmed that the certificate will be provided only after making the desired changes and presenting the final material. According to the release, Mr. Bhansali and the producer agree on these changes. According to our correspondent, the board has suggested in the name of the film and some other changes.
