1. USA has imposed new sanctions on many Russian companies. The accusations of making western countries unsustainable Russia called these restrictions a new blow to the relations between the two countries :- The United States has imposed more restrictions on many Russian companies, traders. The United States has accused Russia of harming the West. US Finance Minister Steven Manchin said that seven businessmen and 12 companies owned by Russia and 17 senior government officials have been banned. He also said that Russia had benefited from the corrupt system. Russia has called the new restrictions a new blow to the relations between the two countries.

Withdrawal for both the houses of Parliament indefinitely, the budget session ends :- The budget session of the Parliament was adjourned indefinitely in which, in the second phase, there was a standoff in both the houses for 22 consecutive days due to the turmoil on various issues and no other special legislative work was done besides passing the budget. Though the government’s efforts to remove the deadlock could not be successful, there was no discussion on the non-confidence motion brought by the various parties in the Lok Sabha against him in the Lok Sabha. The budget session began on January 29 in the joint sitting of both the Houses from President Ramnath Kovind’s address. The first phase was concluded on 9th February and the beginning of the second phase started from March 5 which was completed today. Speaker M Venkaiah Naidu and Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan expressed concern over the continuous stand-off in the second phase and said that it is not right for the members to not do the legislative work by a ruckus. The Speaker said, “I just want to say that this meeting is the most sacred platform for members to raise issues of public interest and public welfare. I understand the concerns of the members about lifting issues of their respective parliamentary constituencies but they have to keep in mind the wider interests of the country. “

Center, Maharashtra Government and World Bank signed a $ 420 million project to help small farmers of Marathwada and Vidarbha :- Center, Maharashtra Government and World Bank have signed a project of US $ 420 million for the assistance of small and marginal farmers of Marathwada and Vidarbha. According to the official release, this project will help in improving climate-friendly processes in agriculture and ensure the benefits of farming. This project will be implemented in rain-fed rural areas.

4. Nepal’s Prime Minister invited Indian investors to participate in the development of the Himalayan kingdom :- Addressing the India-Nepal Business Forum in New Delhi, the Prime Minister of Nepal, Mr. K.P. Oli inviting investment from India said that his country is a safe place for investment. He said that Nepal is so attractive to Indian investors that there is deep cultural relation between the two and the movement between the two countries is easy.

5.  Swaraj attended NAM ministerial conference in Azerbaijan :- External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj is in Baku to attend the ministerial conference of the Non-Aligned Movement being held in the capital of Azerbaijan. Apart from her meeting with her counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov, Swaraj is scheduled to call on Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev and first Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva during her stay in Baku.

Govt. forms committee to regulate news portals : – The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has instituted a committee to regulate online portals, including news websites, entertainment sites and media aggregators. The 10-member committee will include secretaries of the departments of Home, Legal Affairs, Electronics and Information and Technology, and Industrial Policy and Promotion. The CEO of MyGov and a representative each of the Press Council of India and National Broadcasters’ Association will also be part of the committee.

7.  Khadi Store Locator App Launched :- The 9th National Board of Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) met in New Delhi. The Minister of State for MSME, Giriraj Singh chaired the meeting. The Minister launched a mobile phone application for locating 4,000 Khadi stores in the country. There are more than 8,000 Khadistores in India, the rest of stores will also be available on the store locater by the end of this month. This was informed by Vinai Kumar Saxena, Chairman KVIC in the board meeting.

8. 65 thousand H-1B visas will be issued in accordance with the limits set by Parliament for the financial year-2013- US citizenship and immigration service :- The US Citizenship and Immigration Service has said that 65 thousand H-1B visas will be given in accordance with the limits set by Parliament for the financial year-2013. Successful applicants for work visas will be decided through the lottery. There is a huge demand for this visa in Indian professionals. The next US financial year will start from October 1, 2018.

Strict action will be taken against the misuse of government machinery and officers in the elections – Chief Election Commissioner :- The entire commission of the Election Commission is in Bengaluru on a three-day tour to review the election preparations in Karnataka and discussions with various political parties, election officials and security agencies. Chief Election Commissioner Om Prakash Rawat has said that strict action will be taken against the misuse of government machinery and officers in the elections. The Commissioner has instructed the election machinery at the state and district level to work as fearless and unbiased and asked to take strict action on any kind of incident.
