1 Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif will participate online in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization meeting being chaired by India

Pakistan  ‘s Prime Minister  Shehbaz Sharif  will attend the proposed meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization under the chairmanship of India  on July 4  online. Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch told that she has received an invitation from Prime Minister  Narendra Modi  to attend the virtual meeting. Earlier, Pakistan had confirmed to attend the organization’s meeting virtually, but did not make public who would participate in the meeting. Now Pakistan has announced the name of Shehbaz Sharif, when India has clarified that the July 4 meeting was never announced to be held in offline mode. The meeting in India in July  will be the 22nd  meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the first under the chairmanship of India. All the member countries have been invited to attend the meeting virtually. The member countries of the organization   include China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan .

2 In Germany, a new law was passed to meet the labor shortage and attract skilled workers.

In German  ,   new legislation has been passed to attract skilled workers . This law has been made at a time when the shortage of labor in Germany is affecting the economy there. The law   was introduced by the centrist Social Democrats and the left-wing liberal Free Democrats and Greens coalition . 388 votes were cast in support of the motion while 234 MPs voted against it and 31 abstained. Meanwhile, Conservative MPs voted against the motion. These include the CDU and the Bavarian CSU. He said that this law will make entry easier for unskilled laborers. The far-right Alternative for Germany party also opposed the proposal. The Act relaxes the scores for work visa seekers based on their professional qualifications, age and language skills.

3 Google to invest $10 billion in India, Amazon to increase its investment by $15 billion

Prime Minister  Narendra Modi  met the CEOs of  three big US companies  GoogleAmazon  and  Boeing . Google’s  Sundar Pichai  told Mr. Modi that Google   is investing $10 billion in the Digitization Fund in India. He also announced that Google will open its Global Fintech Operations Center in Gujarat’s GIFT City. Mr. Pichai said that the Prime Minister’s vision of Digital India is a source of inspiration for other countries as well. Amazon CEO  Andrew Jesse  said that his company is one of the biggest investors in India and Amazon has already invested $11 billion in India. Mr. Jesse said that in this investment A further increase of $15 billion  will be made. Boeing CEO  Mr. David Calhoun  said that the most important thing is Mr. Modi’s passion for India’s development. He said that Shri Modi has a special interest in the aviation sector. He said that technology and vision of leadership along with technology are invaluable for any country.

4 US agreed to open its market for steel and aluminum products of India

Commerce and Industry Minister  Piyush Goyal  has said that  the US  has agreed to open its market for Indian steel and aluminum products  . As per the agreement, the US Department of Commerce  will approve 70 percent of applications for finished steel products and 80 percent for aluminum products in India. Will give This decision has been taken during the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to America. This decision will increase the export of steel and aluminum products from India by about 35 percent. The US had restricted access of these products to its market with effect from June 14, 2018, under the Trade Expansion Act. Under this law, an additional duty of 25 percent was imposed on steel products and 10 percent on aluminum products. India has also agreed to remove retaliatory additional duties being imposed on certain products.

5 World’s largest Ramayana temple will be built in Bihar

An important project has begun with the construction work of the ‘ world’s largest Ramayana temple ‘ starting  on June 20 in Bihar  ‘s  East Champaran district . The temple   is expected to be taller than  the famous  Angkor Wat temple complex in Cambodia . A testimony to devotion and craftsmanship, the Ramayana temple will be constructed on a vast land of 3.76 lakh square feet. Located around 120 km from Patna, this monumental structure will serve as a symbol of spiritual enlightenment. An estimated cost of ₹500 crore will be incurred in the construction of the grand Ramayana temple. This substantial investment reflects the commitment to realize a magnificent edifice that will attract devotees and tourists from all over the world.

6 IREDA sets up Paperless Business Center at East Kidwai Nagar, New Delhi

7 NHPC signs MoU with GRIDCO Odisha for development of 2 GW Pumped Storage Projects and 1 GW Solar Power Projects in Odisha

NHPC Limited, the largest hydropower development organization in India has  signed an MoU with GRIDCO Odisha , Government of Odisha for   “ Development of Pumped Storage Projects (PSP)  and  Renewable Energy in the State of Odisha”. The MoU envisages setting up at least 2,000 MW of self-contained pumped storage projects and at least 1,000 MW of renewable energy projects (ground-mounted solar projects/floating solar projects) in the state.

9 Launch of the first covid booster developed in the country to protect against the rapidly spreading Omicron variant

Union Minister for Science and Technology  Dr. Jitendra Singh  in   New  Delhi inaugurated the M.R.N.A. Based  Covid Booster Vaccine- Gemkovac-OM® started. It is the first booster COVID-19 vaccine developed in India to combat the fast-spreading Omicron variant. This vaccine can be kept in a temperature of two to eight degrees centigrade. The vaccine has demonstrated strong immunogenicity in Phase III clinical trials conducted at 20 centers in 13 cities across the country. Gemcovac-OM® is a needle-free, thermostable vaccine, which is derived from the mRNA. Do not require the very cold chain infrastructure used for other vaccines based on approval. This makes it easy to place it anywhere across India. India’s first mRNA vaccine has been developed by Gennova using indigenous platform technology. It has funding support from the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) and the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC). The vaccine was approved for Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) by the Office of the Drug Control General of India (DCGI) a few days back.

11 Coal India will come under Competition Act: Supreme Court

The Supreme Court  recently held that  public sector company (PSU)  Coal India Limited (CIL)  also  comes under the purview of the Competition Act. Will come The Court rejected CIL’s argument that the Act did not apply to them as they operated under the Coal Mines (Nationalisation) Act. A bench of Justices KM Joseph, BV Nagaratna and Ahsanuddin Amanullah said, “Section 54 of the Competition Act empowers the Central Government to grant exemption for any period from the operation of this Act or any of its provisions.” which shall be specified in the notification. The grounds for exemption may be security of the state or public interest. If the appellant proves a proper case to exclude it from the purview of the Act, the Government will be powerless. The issue has been sent back to the Competition Commission of India to decide on its merits.

12 Amit Shah lays the foundation stone of ‘Sacrifice Pillar’ in Srinagar

15 Manipur invokes RBI’s riot provisions to help borrowers

Recently,  the Manipur government  has  invoked the riot provisions of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI)  in view of the grave situation in  the riots and violence-hit state. has been implemented. The guidelines acknowledged the borrowers’ inability to repay loans due to the crisis and called for relief measures for the affected persons. While it is usually invoked in areas affected by natural calamities, this move is the first instance of its use in response to a law and order situation. The provisions are as per Chapter No. 7 of the “Reserve Bank of India (Relief Measures by Banks in Areas Affected by Natural Calamities) Guidelines, 2018”. Whenever RBI advises banks to extend rehabilitation assistance to riot/disturbance affected persons, the above guidelines are followed by the banks for the purpose. This provision specifically addresses “riots and disturbances”. Its regulations specify several norms to be followed for restructuring of loans, This is done for providing new loans and other measures including KYC norms. As per the instructions, all short-term loans except overdues at the time of riots will be eligible for restructuring.

16 Kalsa-Banduri Project on Mahadayi River

Tenders for the controversial Kalasa-Banduri project,  launched by  Karnataka ‘s former state government just before the assembly elections  , may face difficulties due to lack of forest and environment clearance.  The Kalasa-Banduri project aims to improve drinking water supply in  Belagavi, Dharwad, Bagalkot and Gadag districts of Karnataka . This   includes construction of barrages on  two tributaries of  Mahadayi river , Kalsa and Banduri,  to connect them to  Malaprabha river (a tributary of Krishna river). The Mahadayi or Mhadei is a west-flowing river that   originates in the Bhimgarh Wildlife Sanctuary (Western Ghats) in Belagavi district of Karnataka. This river  flows through Goa, Karnataka and Maharashtra. flows through the districts of The Kalsa-Banduri project is controversial due to inter-state water disputes, environmental concerns and opposition from local communities.

17 Flood and Beki river in Assam

 As per the daily flood report of  the Assam State Disaster Management Authority , the flood situation in Assam  remains grim, with around  20 districts of the state affected by the incessant rains  . The Beki  River, a tributary of  the Brahmaputra River  , is currently flowing above the danger mark, with flood waters causing extensive damage to various infrastructure including embankments, roads and bridges. The Beki River (also known as the Kurisu River) originates in Bhutan and is one of the right bank tributaries of the Brahmaputra River. A major part of this river flows through Assam. This river serves as a means of livelihood and transportation for many communities in Assam.

 More than 30 migrants died when a small boat  headed to   Spain  ‘s  Canary Islands capsized , according to information shared by two organizations focused on migration.
