1.N. Korea fires missile into Sea of Japan; US warns Pyongyang :-

The US on Wednesday said that it is considering all options to tackle the threat posed by North Korea’s repeated nuclear arms tests, hours after Pyongyang fired another ballistic missile into the Sea of Japan.

Confirming the missile launch, the US Pacific Command said that its systems “detected and tracked” what it assessed was a North Korean missile launch at 11:42 AM (Hawaii time) on April 4.

2.India, Britain talk up post-Brexit trade prospects :-

India and Britain on Tuesday talked up their prospects of developing a new trading relationship, as their finance ministers met in New Delhi to prepare for the United Kingdom’s exit from the European Union.

3.RSS to hold rallies in Bengal :-

Various Hindu Right wing groups affiliated to the Rashtriya Swyamsevak Sangh (RSS) have planned the “largest ever demonstration in Bengal” to mark Ram Navami. In the weeklong events, slated to begin on Wednesday and continue till April 11, 350 rallies will be across the 22 districts of the State.

 

4.India, Malaysia inks 7 agreements :-

India and Malaysia have inked seven agreements to foster deeper relationship between the two countries.

Signed Agreements are :Air Services Agreement: It is revised ASA with Malaysia signed by both countries in 1974.

B.MoU on Cooperation Fertilizers sector: It deals with development of proposed Urea and Ammonia Manufacturing Plant in Malaysia and offtake of exisiting surplus urea from Malaysia to India.

C.MoU on cooperation in Sports: It envisages cooperation through exchange of sportspersons, instructors, information on sports regimen and training curricula, etc.

D.MoU for cooperation in training: It was signed between Malaysian Human Resource Fund (HRDF and EDII, Ahmedabad.

E.MoU on Mutual Recognition of the Educational Qualifications: It was singed between Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).

F.MoU on collaboration in technology development in the field of Palm Oil: It was signed between Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) and India’s Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT).

G.MoU on implementation of 4th Generation Technology Park in Andhra Pradesh: It was signed between MIGHT Technology Malaysia and AP Economic Development Board.

5.Yogi waives farm loans up to Rs. 1 lakh :-

The Yogi Adityanath-led BJP government in Uttar Pradesh, at its first Cabinet meeting on Tuesday, announced its decision to waive farmers’ loans worth ₹30,729 crore, writing off all farm loans up to ₹1 lakh.

6.Kozhikode to host international kite festival :-

With a 550-km-long coastline and around a hundred beaches, Kerala should ideally be a regular kite-flying destination. However, but for a few lone attempts in Kappad, Kochi and recently in Bekal, there has never been a large-scale kite festival in the State. The best known international kite festival in India is ‘Uttarayan’ in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, while States like Karnataka and Telangana too have some lesser known events.

 

7.Amitabh Bachchan inaugurates new CBFC office :-

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan inaugurated the new office of Central Board of Film Certification along with a host of other celebrities like Anupam Kher, Ramesh Sippy and others.

CBFC was facing space constraint in their old office in Malabar Hill, which has been there since 1950s.

8.Upbeat Sunrisers take on injury-hit Royal Challengers :-

It will be a clash between two teams with contrasting moods when defending champion and fighting-fit Sunrisers Hyderabad takes on injury-hit Royal Challengers Bangalore in the inaugural match of the 10th Indian Premier League at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium here on Wednesday night.

9.Documentary on Sachin Tendulkar to be aired on April 23 :-

A new documentary on Sachin Tendulkar’s eventful career, that included winning the World Cup in 2011, is set to be screened on the eve of the former Indian cricketer’s 44th birthday.

 

10.India rejects U.S. role in mending ties with Pakistan :-

U.S President Donald Trump might take a proactive interest in deescalating tensions between India and Pakistan, U.S Ambassador to the U.N Nikki Haley has said. “We don’t think, we should wait till something happens,” Ms. Haley said at the U.N while taking over as chair of the U.N Security Council for two months.
