Conditional bans on the bankruptcy process of Reliance Infratel and Reliance Telecom

1.Approved 1.5 lakh affordable houses for the urban poor under the Prime Minister’s housing scheme (urban), :-

with the central assistance of Rs 2,209 crore, the investment of Rs 7,277 crore was approved for Andhra Pradesh, 56512 houses were received from Uttar Pradesh, 26060 in Uttar Pradesh, 17920 in Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand got 14526 and Maharashtra got 13506 houses.

 2.Tourism Minister issued the first directive of the government on adventure tourism so far Direction :-

Minister of State for Tourism (Independent Charge) Shri K.J. Alfonz issued guidelines of Government of India on adventure tourism in New Delhi today. As part of efforts to make the adventure sports safer, these guidelines, issued with safety and quality standards for adventure tourism in India, were created in collaboration with the Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOI).

 3.Under the agreement Prime Minister’s Gram Sadak Yojana will be provided financial assistance to rural road project for additional financial assistance of $ 500 million in the Government of India and the World Bank :-

Under the Prime Minister Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) between the Government of India and the World Bank, an agreement for $ 500 million loan was made to provide additional financial assistance to the rural road project. Under this project implemented by the Ministry of Rural Development, 7,000 km roads have to be constructed, out of which 3,500 km will be constructed using green technology.

4.Shri Amit Khare took over as Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting :-

Shri Amit Khare, IAS (Jharkhand : 1985) today took over as the Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Shri Narendra Kumar Sinha, IAS has retired from this post. Prior to his appointment, Mr. Khare was working as Additional Chief Secretary of Jharkhand Government.

5.Pacific Rimpac military exercises will be from June 27, 26 participants including India will be included :-

Around the Hawaii Islands and Southern California, next time, from June 27 to August 2, a biennial Pacific rimpac military exercise is going to be organized in which 26 countries including India will be involved. This has been announced by the Pentagon. Rimpeck is known as the world’s largest international maritime practice. In the past, the United States had denied China’s participation in RIMPAC. Countries participating in this exercise include Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea and the United Kingdom. RIM of the Pacific Exercise (RIMPACE) occurs in the US airspace in summer every two years. There are more than 20 countries in the world, including India, Australia, Japan and Britain.

 

6.’Suryakiran-13′ joint military exercise started in Uttarakhand between India and Nepal :-

Between India and Nepal, a joint military exercise was started in Pithoragarh in Uttarakhand under Sunrise-13. It will run till June 12. In Nepal and India, alternate military exercises are done every six months. More than three hundred soldiers from both countries are participating in this.

7.Conditional bans on the bankruptcy process of Reliance Infratel and Reliance Telecom :-

National Companies Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) has put a conditional ban on the bankruptcy process against Reliance Communications (RCom) and its subsidiaries Reliance Infratel and Reliance Telecom. Simultaneously, these companies have been allowed to sell their properties to Reliance Geo. NCLT has asked RCom and its subsidiaries to pay Ericsson India Rs. 550 crores in 120 days. If this does not happen, the bank will be directed to process the bankruptcies. This 120-day period will start from June 1. This move of NCLAT is seen as a major relief for the burden of debt, and RCom, headed by Anil Ambani. The company is hoping to sell its assets to Reliance Jio to get Rs 25,000 crore.

8.Vikas Gowda took retirement from athletics :-

India’s best discus thrower Vikas Gowda has said goodbye to athletics. Vikas informed the Indian Athletics Federation about retirement from the Games via email. The current national record of 66.28 meters in Discus Throw is based on the development of its name in the United States, and he informed the athletics federation from there with his decision. Vikas said after considering a lot of thinking, I decided to retire from athletics. I no longer want to give my body more pain and focus on the next phase of my life.

9.BCCI to increase salary for selectors and umpires :-

BCCI has decided to double the fees of umpires, scorers and video analysts, with the increase of remuneration of 3 national selectors. The Cricket Operations Wing, presided over by the BCCI’s Saba Karim, has decided this. The COA also feels that the main selector MSK Prasad and Company should get the benefit of their services. Hopefully now the main selector will get around one crore rupees, while 2 others will get close to Rs. 75 to 80 lakhs. BCCI has decided to double the fees for domestic match referees, umpires, scorers and video analysts after a gap of 6 years.

10.GDP @ 7.7%, FY18’s fourth quarter’s best performance :-

There is a good news on the economic development front. In the case of GDP growth our economy has once again become the fastest in the world. The GDP growth rate in the last quarter of the financial year 2017-18 (January to March) has been 7.7 per cent, while 7.4 per cent has been estimated. While the GDP growth rate was 7.2 percent in the previous quarter (October to December). At the same time, GVA has been 6.5 percent in the financial year 2017-18.
