1.Tata Motors launches compact sedan Tigor :-

In its bid to claw back both the wallet share as well as mindshare, Tata Motors on Wednesday launched its first compact sedan in a decade under the Tigor label with petrol and diesel options and with attractive pricing beginning at Rs 4.7 lakh.

2.NIA charge-sheets eight IS operatives :-

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday filed two charge sheets against eight people allegedly owing allegiance to the banned Islamic Terrorr outfit for conspiring to “wage a war” against the country, and targeting foreigners and important personalities in India.

4.SC asks SIT to probe former Karnataka CMs in iron ore mining case :-

The Supreme Court on Wednesday asked the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Karnataka Police to investigate the role of former Chief Ministers N Dharam Singh and H D Kumaraswamy in the iron ore mining case and file a report within three months.

7.Karthik, spinners guide Tamil Nadu to Deodhar title :-

Tamil Nadu clinched their second title of the 2016-17 domestic season, beating India B by 42 runs in Visakhapatnam to clinch the Deodhar Trophy. Dinesh Karthik scored 126 to guide Tamil Nadu to 303, before the spinners, led by Rahil Shah, restricted India B to 261.

8.Supreme Court bans sale of BS-III vehicles from April 1 :-

The health of the citizen is more important than the commercial interests of the automobile industry, the Supreme Court observed on Wednesday and ordered a freeze on the registration and sale of BS-III fuel compliant vehicles by “any manufacturer or dealer” on and from April 1, when the next level and environmentally friendly BS-IV fuel emission standards are scheduled to kick in.

9.TN may prune guideline value :-

In a move that would benefit thousands of property buyers, the State Registration Department has proposed to reduce the ‘guideline value’ for registration of sale deed of properties in Tamil Nadu.

10.Nalini Netto is new Chief Secretary :-

The State Cabinet has appointed 1981 batch IAS officer Nalini Netto as the State’s news Chief Secretary.

Ms. Netto, who would takeover from incumbent S.M. Vijayanand, who would vacate office on March 31 on superannuation.

11.Four key bills on GST get Lok Sabha green signal: Decks cleared for July rollout of uniform tax regime :-

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley who steered the passage of the Bills, told the House that the GST will make commodities “slightly cheaper” and rates would depend on whether the commodity is used by a rich person or a common man.

12.Government firm on tax law changes, relents on tribunal postings :-

Addressing one of the major concerns of the Opposition on the Finance Bill, the government Wednesday assured Parliament that all judicial appointments in regulatory bodies or tribunals, many of which are being restructured in one go through provisions in the Finance Bill, will continue to be made in consultation with the judiciary.
