1.HCL to invest 500 cr. in State, to focus on IP :-

The Andhra Pradesh government and the HCL Technologies on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a Global Information Technology Development and Training Centre that will hire, train and employ over 5,000 from the State, here.

2.Talking to U.S. on visa curbs: Sushma :-

New Delhi The government on Thursday sought to allay the fears among Indian IT professionals, saying the US administration has not implemented any policy yet to curb jobs and efforts were underway to dissuade it from doing so.

3.Yogi Adityanath gets Z+ security cover :-

The Centre has accorded the top category ‘Z+’ VVIP armed security cover to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

The cover will be provided by a special commando team of the CISF along with a small contingent of the Uttar Pradesh police.

4.BJP seeks action against Tripura CM over job termination issue :-

Hundreds of BJP supporters held noisy protest at the main city police station in Agartala on Thursday to demand legal action against Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty after Supreme Court upheld order of the High Court of Tripura to cancel job of 10,323 teachers for defective employment procedure.

5.ED attaches assets of former Goa CMs :-

The Enforcement Directorate on Thursday seized assets including immovable property worth Rs.1.95 crores belonging to two former Goa Chief Ministers Digambar Kamat (Congress MLA) and Churchill Alemao (NCP MLA ) under the provisions of Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002, in connection with Luis Berger Consultancy scam.

6.Judges choose work over vacation :-

For the first time in recent legal history, the Supreme Court, led by Chief Justice of India J.S. Khehar, will have three Constitution Benches functioning simultaneously, along with the usual vacation Bench, in a historic step away from its colonial tradition of a prolonged summer vacation spanning almost two months from May to July.

7.‘iPhones assembly in Bengaluru in less than a month’ :-

Apple Inc will be ready to start asembling high-end iPhones in the city in less than a month to boost its chances of gaining a foothold in the fast growing Indian market,Karnataka IT Minister Priyank Kharge said on Thursday.

8.Steve Smith and Ajinkya Rahane offer a straight bat :-

Steve Smith and Ajinkya Rahane, opposing captains in the final India-Australia Test earlier this week, came prepared to face the barrage of questions from the media.

Though Thursday’s event was meant to welcome England’s all-rounder Ben Stokes — a buy worth Rs 14.5 crore for Rising Pune Supergiant — with Smith and Rahane presenting the all-rounder with a team-shirt, it was more an opportunity for the media to quiz the two with questions relating to the just-concluded series that had its share of acrimony.

8.As talks fail, truckers to continue strike :-

Transporters have decided to continue their indefinite strike after their talks with Transport Minister M.R. Vijayabaskar failed on Thursday. The strike, which began on Thursday, was called by South India Motor Transport Association (SIMTA) to press for, among other things, withdrawal of hike in VAT announced by the State government on petrol and diesel. The protest has paralysed movement of lorries in Salem and Namakkal districts.

9.About three lakh trucks off the road :-

Truckers did not operate their vehicles across the 13 districts of Andhra Pradesh as part of their decision to go on an indefinite strike from Thursday.

Nearly 3 lakh lorries did not operate causing heavy inconvenience in transport of goods and services. Essential services like transport of vegetables, milk and petrol were exempted from the strike.

10.Railways to provide TTEs with PoS machines :-

To avoid corruption and ensure transparency, the Indian Railways is proposing to issue Point of Sale (PoS) machines to Travelling Ticket Examiners (TTEs) and Ticket Collectors (TCs) in all stations across the country.

The Railway Board is discussing the matter and the machines will be distributed once the nod is given, said a railway official.

11.de Kock’s absence big loss going into IPL, says Dravid :-

Delhi Daredevils coach Rahul Dravid on Thursday admitted that missing a batsman of Quinton de Kock’s calibre along with seasoned player JP Duminy will affect the balance and composition of the team going into 10th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL).

12.Regional flights for 2,500 to become reality soon :-

Beginning April, passengers may be able to fly on as many as 128 routes connecting 70 big and small airports across the country by paying ₹2,500 for an hour’s flight.

The Centre on Thursday announced a list of routes awarded to five airlines which will operate flights under its regional connectivity scheme, named UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik).
