Prime Minister  Narendra Modi  has said that  the expansion of the five-member grouping of BRICS  has been decided  during  the three-day BRICS summit . Currently  Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa  are its members. Shri Modi has said that  Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates  will now become full members of BRICS. Addressing the BRICS Summit in Johannesburg, the Prime Minister said that India has always supported the expansion of BRICS and has always believed that the inclusion of new members will strengthen BRICS as an organization. Earlier,   the President of  South Africa, Cyril  Ramaphosa Announcing the results of the 15th BRICS Summit, it was agreed to invite Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (six new countries) to become full members of BRICS These countries   will become members of BRICS from January 1, 2024 .

Pallavi Joshi has been declared Best Supporting Actress for the film Kashmir Files and Pankaj Tripathi has been declared Best Supporting Actor for Mimi. RRR won the award for Most Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment. The Kashmir Files, directed by Vivek Agnihotri, will be given the Nargis Dutt Award for Best Film on National Integration. Non-Feature Jury Chairman Vasant S Sai announced Ek Tha Gaon directed by Srishti Lakhera as the best non-feature film of the year. Shreya Ghoshal will get the award for Best Female Playback Singer for the song – Mayawa Chayawa from the movie Irwin Nijhal. Kaal Bhairav ​​has been adjudged the Best Playback Singer for the song Komuram Bhimudo from the film RRR. Best Director Award to Nikhil Mahajan for Marathi film Godavari will be given. The Best Hindi Film award went to historical film Sardar Udham Singh produced by Shoojit Sircar. 5 Signing of MoU between Numaligarh Refinery Limited of Assam and Inland Waterways Authority of India in Guwahati

 An MoU was signed in Guwahati between Numaligarh Refinery Limited  of  Assam  and  Inland Waterways Authority of India  for transportation of  petroleum and petrochemical products  to  Bangladesh  and other  South East Asian countries . Union Minister for Shipping, Shipping and Waterways and AYUSH, Sarbananda Sonowal and Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Ramesh Teli and two Ministers from the Government of Assam were also present on the occasion.

6 Kerala’s first AI school launched in Thiruvananthapuram

7 Central government formed high power committee to review defense institute DRDO

 The committee has been constituted  under the directions of  Prime Minister  Narendra Modi and with a view to bring about changes in the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) . India’s Defense Minister  Rajnath Singh  appointed  Professor K.K.  A nine-member expert committee has been constituted under the leadership of Vijayraghavan . This committee will present a report to the government in the next three months. Professor Vijayaraghavan, who is heading this committee, has been the former Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India. The initiative comes in the wake of persistent concerns expressed by various stakeholders, including the Armed Services, regarding the efficiency and effectiveness of the organisation.

8 Defense Acquisition Council approves proposals worth seven thousand eight hundred crore rupees to enhance the operational capabilities of the Armed Forces

The Defense Procurement Council,  under the chairmanship of  Defense Minister  Rajnath Singh ,  has decided to spend around  Rs 7,800 crore. Proposals for purchase of equipment worth Rs. To enhance the efficiency of the Indian Air Force, the Defense Acquisition Council has approved the procurement and installation of Electronic Warfare EW suite in Mi-17 V-5 helicopters. This will increase the affordability of helicopters. The EW suite will be procured from Bharat Electronics Limited. The Council also approved the procurement of ground based autonomous systems for the Mechanized Infantry and Armored Regiments. This will enable many tasks like unmanned reconnaissance, delivering weapons, fuel and spares to the battlefield. 7. The proposals for procurement of 62 x 51 mm Light Machine Gun and Bridge Laying Tank have been approved. The light machine gun will increase the fighting capability of the security forces and the bridge laying tank will enable quick movement of mechanized forces. Procurement of durable laptops and tablets for the Indian Army has also been approved under Project Shakti. All these will be purchased from indigenous vendors only. The Council also approved the procurement of weapons for the Indian Navy’s MH-60-R helicopters to enhance their operational capability.

9 China bans all imports of seafood from Japan with immediate effect

China  ‘s  customs authorities  have announced that it  has stopped all imports of seafood from Japan with immediate effect  .  China made the decision after Tokyo Electric Power Company  began  releasing  treated and rarefied water from  the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant into the Pacific Ocean . Officials said the aim was to  eliminate the risk of food being contaminated by radioactive water  leaks   and to protect food and the health of China’s people. 11 Tele-law 2.0 launched

 Committed to fulfilling the constitutional mandate of Article 39A  relating to ensuring  access to justice ,  the Department of Justice (DOJ)  is organizing a Tele-Law 2.0 event  on August 25, 2023   at  Siri Fort Auditorium, New Delhi . In this program, Minister of State for Law and Justice (Independent Charge)  Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal will participate. The event celebrates the milestone of reaching 50 lakh pre-litigation consultations to common citizens through the use of technology. It also integrates this legal advice service under Tele-Law with legal representation services under Nyaya Bandhu (Pro Bono) programme. It will enable the common citizen to have access to legal advice, legal aid and legal representation through a single registration and a single gateway to tele-law.

12 NHPC and APGENCO come together for implementation of  Pumped Storage Hydroelectric projects and other renewable energy projects in Andhra Pradesh

 Taking yet another step towards  clean and green energy, India’s leading hydropower company NHPC Limited has tied up  with  Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation (APGENCO) Limited  (a Government of Andhra Pradesh subsidiary)  for implementation of  renewable energy projects and pumped hydro storage  in the state of  Andhra Pradesh. Undertaking) has signed an MoU with The total capacity in the MoU in the first phase is  1,950 MW. The two identified Pumped Hydro Storage projects are envisaged for implementation. These projects are Kamalapadu (950 MW) and Yaganti (1,000 MW). The implementation of these projects is expected to generate significant employment opportunities and boost the local economy in the area. The projects will be implemented under joint venture. On August 23, 2023, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Mr. Y.S. The MoU was signed at Tadepalli in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh in the presence of Jagan Mohan Reddy.

13 Ministry of Heavy Industry Appointed Engineers India Limited as Independent Engineer for PLI-ACC Scheme

The Ministry  of Heavy Industry has given approval  to  three stakeholders  to build 30 GWh battery storage capacity . These   include Ola Cell Technologies Pvt LtdACC Energy Storage Pvt Ltd  and  Reliance New Energy Battery Storage Ltd. The ministry is in the process of granting approvals for the remaining 20 GW capacity with a target of achieving 50 GWh generation by 2030. In order to monitor the progress of work of these selected companies, the Ministry has appointed  Engineers India Limited (EIL). has been appointed as the independent engineer. Prototype testing work by these stakeholders is almost complete and commercial production is expected to commence in phases in FY2024.

The WorldCoin network can only function if users are willing to scan irises and/or have their own irises scanned. World ID holders and people who have had their irises scanned can use it to claim WLD crypto, whereby they can trade (if possible and legal) or hold the asset with the expectation that its value may increase. WorldCoin claims that there is a legitimate way to include everyone in this network with the help of biometric information to avoid duplication. This process is called “proof of identity” and it helps prevent people from repeatedly entering names in exchange for crypto.

15 KVIC launches Khadi Rakshasuit for Raksha Bandhan

Khadi and  Village Industries Commission (KVIC) has launched  ‘ Khadi Rakshasut  ‘ on the occasion of Rakshabandhan .‘ started.
