1 President Draupadi Murmu inaugurated the National Festival of Folk and Tribal Expressions of India “Utkarsh” and the International Literature Festival “Unmesh” in Bhopal.

President  Draupadi Murmu  inaugurated  the  national festival of  India’s  folk and tribal expressions ” Utkarsh ” and  the international literature festival  ” Unmesh ” in Bhopal . Speaking on the occasion, the President said that literature shows a mirror to humanity and takes it forward. It connects as well as connects. The President said that Utkarsh means progress and the progress of the tribal group will lead to the progress of the country. He said that it is the responsibility of all of us to preserve the tribal tradition, language and culture. Culture Department Madhya Pradesh along with Sangeet Natak Akademi and Sahitya Akademi of Ministry of Culture has organized this program from 3rd to 5th August. 2 Union Minister of Steel Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia unveiled the new logo of NMDC

Union Steel and Civil Aviation Minister  Shri. Jyotiraditya M. Scindia  unveiled the new logo of NMDC  in   New  Delhi . On this occasion, Mr. Scindia said that this  new symbol  shows how India’s largest iron ore producer is gearing up to mine globally in a sustainable and green environment. The new logo reflects NMDC’s responsibilities towards mining in harmony with nature and people.

3 NHAI launches ‘RajmargYatra’, an integrated mobile application for National Highway users

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI)  has launched  a citizen-centric integrated mobile application  ‘ HighwayYatra’ . taken a significant step towards improving the experience of highway users with the launch of aThis user-friendly app is now available for download on both Google Play Store and iOS App Store, which provides travelers with comprehensive information on Indian National Highways as well as an efficient complaint redressal system. The app is currently available in Hindi and English.

Education Minister  Dharmendra Pradhan  and External Affairs Minister  Dr. S. Jaishankar  jointly   launched the Study in India portal  in  New Delhi . This portal is a one-stop platform that will make it easier for foreign students to pursue education in India. Comprehensive information about higher education institutions of India will be available on the portal. The portal will also provide an integrated one-stop solution for student registration and visa application process.

5 PM G-One Scheme

In March, 2019, the government had notified the “ Pradhan Mantri Jee-One  ( Biofuel-Eco-friendly Crop Residue Prevention ) Scheme”. This scheme is applicable for  setting up second generation ethanol projects in the country. To provide financial assistance to integrated bio-ethanol projects for setting up These projects are going to use lignocellulosic biomass and other renewable feedstock. The total financial outlay of the scheme is Rs.1969.50 crore for the period from 2018-19 to 2023-24. A maximum financial assistance of Rs 150 crore per project for commercial projects and Rs 15 crore per project for demonstration projects has been earmarked under the PM G-One scheme to support R&D technologies for development as well as enhancement of commercial viability. To encourage and adopt the technologies in the field of 2G ethanol production. PunjabHaryanaOdishaAssam  and  Karnataka under this scheme  Rs 880 crore has been sanctioned to public and private sector Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) for six commercial second generation (2G) bio-ethanol projects in India and one demonstration 2G ethanol project each in Haryana and Andhra. Of these, the commercial project at Panipat (Haryana) has been dedicated to the nation and commercial projects at Bathinda (Punjab), Bargarh (Odisha) and Numaligarh (Assam) are in advanced stages of construction. Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Shri Rameshwar Teli gave this information in a written reply in the Lok Sabha.

6 Udyam Registration Portal

The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises  launched  the Enterprise Registration Portal  on  01.07.2020 to register and classify  enterprises   as  Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises .  The total number of enterprises registered since inception in Gopalganj district  of  Bihar as on 31.07.2023 is 16,144 out of which micro, small and medium enterprises are 15,906, 226 and 12 respectively. This information was given by the Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Shri Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma in a written reply in the Lok Sabha.

7 INS Sahyadri and INS Kolkata arrive at Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea

Indian Naval  Ships  INS Sahyadri  and  INS Kolkata  Deployed in  Eastern IOR  to Deepen  Maritime Partnership and Cooperation  with  Papua New Guinea Reached Port Moresby on 02 Aug 23. During this port call, the crew of both the ships will engage in a wide range of activities including professional interaction with PNG Defense Forces personnel, cultural exchange, yoga sessions and ship visits. The objective of this port call is to strengthen the relations between India and Papua New Guinea in the maritime domain. INS Sahyadri is the third ship of the indigenously designed and built Project-17 class multirole stealth frigates and is commanded by Captain Rajan Kapoor. INS Kolkata is the first ship of the indigenously designed and built Project-15A Class Destroyer and is commanded by Captain Sharad Sinsunwal. Both the ships have been built at Mazagon Dock Limited, Mumbai and are fitted with modern weapons and sensors capable of taking on three-dimensional threats.

8 Government created a new category of AYUSH visa for foreign nationals seeking treatment under Indian systems of medicine

The Ministry of Home Affairs , Government of India   has notified the creation of a new category  of  AYUSH (AY) Visa  for foreign nationals for the purpose of treatment under  AYUSH systems of treatment/Indian systems of medicine . The introduction of AYUSH Visa complements the proposal to introduce a special visa scheme for foreigners coming to India for the purpose of treatment under AYUSH systems/Indian systems of therapeutic care, wellness and medicine like Yoga. Under this, after Chapter 11- Medical Visa of the Visa Manual, a new Chapter i.e. Chapter 11A- AYUSH Visa has been included, which deals with treatment under Indian Systems of Medicine and accordingly necessary amendments have been made in various chapters of the Visa Manual, 2019. went.

9 Lok Sabha passed the National Capital Territory of Delhi-Amendment Bill-2023

The Lok Sabha  has passed the Government of  National  Capital  Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Bill-2023 . The Bill   seeks to amend the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi Act, 1991 . The Bill empowers the Central Government to make rules for the functions, tenure and other conditions of service of officers and employees of the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi. There is also a provision for the constitution of the National Capital Public Service Authority in this bill. The Authority will consist of the Chief Minister of Delhi, the Chief Secretary of Delhi and the Principal Home Secretary of Delhi. This authority will make recommendations to the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi regarding transfer, posting and disciplinary action of officers. The central government had brought an ordinance in this regard in May this year.

10 Center bans import of laptops, tablets and personal computers with immediate effect

The Center  has banned the import  of   laptops, tablets and personal computers with immediate effect. The government said in a notification that the import of these goods would be allowed only on valid license for restricted imports. Import of a laptop, tablet and all-in-one personal computer including computer purchased from an e-commerce portal  through  post or courier has been  exempted from import licensing requirement. Exemption is also given up to 20 items per unit for research and development, testing, repair and return and items forming an essential part of capital goods.

11 Six months for pharmaceutical companies with turnover of more than 250 crores and 12 months for companies with turnover less than 250 crores to adopt GMP

The government has asked pharmaceutical companies to adopt best practices for manufacturing quality drugs. Good Manufacturing Practice – GMP  is a mandatory standard which ensures the quality of the products. Under this, the materials used  , manufacturing methods, machines and processes  are regulated. The Union Health Ministry  has given 6 months to pharma companies with turnover of more than Rs 250 crore  and  12 months for companies with less than Rs 250 crore  to adopt GMP. given time. The ministry said that the government has decided to manufacture quality drugs in the country. At present, there are about 10,500 manufacturing units in the country, out of which 8,500 units come under the category of micro, small and medium enterprises. India is a major exporter of medicines to low and middle income countries and requires Good Manufacturing Practice certification from the World Health Organisation. The ministry informed that at present about two thousand units in the micro, small and medium category in the country have this certificate. Fines will be imposed for non-compliance of this order and the license of the companies can also be cancelled.

12 India to host World Coffee Summit in Bengaluru from September -25

India   is all set to host the 5th World Coffee Conference (WCC)  in  Bengaluru from  25 to 28 September  , where it will showcase its diverse range of coffees to buyers from different countries. This time this conference will be held in Asia. The objective of the conference is to pave the way for innovative opportunities and markets, especially with an emphasis on benefiting the coffee farmers who play a vital role in coffee production. The main theme of the conference was “ Sustainability through Circular Economy and Regenerative Agriculture” Will happen. The conclave will incorporate a variety of activities, including conferences, exhibitions, skill-building workshops, a CEOs and Global Leaders Forum, and a Growers Conclave. The World Coffee Summit 2023 is expected to see participation from participants from over 80 countries.

14 Brokerage firm Morgan Stanley keeps India on the top spot among emerging markets, downgrades China’s rating

Noting the strong position of Indian markets  , brokerage firm, Morgan Stanley has said that India  is the top and most preferred destination  among emerging markets for investors due to foreign capital inflows, macro stability and positive earnings outlook. The brokerage firm has given an overweight rating on the Indian markets saying that India is near the beginning of a long sustained rally. According to the firm, the performance of the Indian economy will be better in the future. The firm has downgraded its ratings on China’s stock exchanges. Morgan Stanley has said in its analysis that the indicators of the Indian economy are showing strength. The economy is progressing towards achieving 6.2 per cent gross domestic product (GDP).

London  -based  Indian-origin author Chetna Maru  ‘s debut novel ‘ Western Lane ‘ has been included in the 2023 Booker Prize longlist. This Kenya-inspired novel by Maru, placed in the context of British Gujarati culture, has been praised by the Booker Prize’s judging committee for its use of the game of squash as an application to complex human emotions. The book revolves around the story of an 11-year-old girl named Gopi and her bond with her family.

16 Foxconn signs ₹1,600 crore deal to set up plant in Tamil Nadu

Foxconn Technology Group, a  Taiwanese  company  and   a major supplier to  Apple Inc,  has pledged to invest ₹1,600 crore  to set up a manufacturing facility in  Tamil Nadu  ‘s  Kancheepuram district . The investment is expected to generate significant employment opportunities and give a boost to the electronics manufacturing sector in Tamil Nadu. In addition to the investment commitment, Mr Young Liu, chairman of Foxconn, signed a tripartite memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Technology Madras and Guidance, the nodal agency to assist in attracting investments to the state.

17 The government has extended the tenure of cabinet secretary Rajiv Gauba for one more year.

The government   has extended the tenure of  Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba for one more year. The Department of Personnel and Training  has said in an order that the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has   approved the extension of service for a period of one year beyond August 30, 2023 to Rajeev Gauba, a 1982 batch Indian Administrative Service officer of Jharkhand cadre. Mr. Gaba’s term has been extended for the third time on this post.

 Between  1976 and 2023, 251 ancient art objects have been brought back to the country from abroad  . Of these, 238 items  have been brought back  after 2014 . In a written reply in Rajya Sabha, the Minister for Culture, Tourism and Development of North Eastern Region  G. Kishan Reddy  informed that the government is committed to bring back the ancient artefacts of Indian origin taken by other countries. He said that no agreement has been made with any museum abroad to bring back such lost or stolen items to India. Shri Reddy also informed the House that out of total one thousand two hundred and four antiquities registered in Jammu and Kashmir, one was reported missing in 1983. Its investigation is going on.

19 Asia’s oldest football tournament Durand Cup begins

Durand Cup, the oldest football tournament in Asia   has started. A total of 43 matches  will be played across Assam  and  West Bengal  at four venues including   Guwahati , Kokrajhar and Kolkata . 24 teams will participate in the Durand Cup. The list includes Indian Super League, I-League and Armed Forces teams. Nepal and Bangladesh army teams have also been included in this season.

20 Digital payments to grow by 13.24 per cent year-on-year till March 2023

According to the RBI ‘s index  that measures the adoption of  online transactions , digital payments  across the country are   expected to register a growth of 13.24 per cent in a year till March 2023. RBI’s Digital Payments Index (RBI-DPI) stood at 395.57 at the end of March 2023, compared to 377.46 in September 2022 and 349.30 in March 2022. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said in a statement that the RBI-DPI index rose across all parameters due to significant growth in payment infrastructure and payment performance across the country during this period.
