    In South Delhi, hearing of 16,500 trees being cut in the National Green Tribunal (NGT) on Monday. NGT has banned the cutting of trees. In keeping with the Delhi High Court’s decision, the NGT issued notice to the Central Government, Pollution Control Board, NDMC, SDMC and DDA in connection with the cutting of trees by the National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC) for residential planning. The NGT has ordered the other agencies including NBCC to maintain the status quo and keep the order of the High Court in force. The decision was taken by the Delhi High Court last week to cut 16, 500 trees under the decision, the NGT has retained it on Monday. Now the next hearing in this case will be on July 19.

    12.IRDAI clears LIC to buy stake in IDBI Bank :-

    Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDAI)  has approved the proposal of allowing  Life Insurance Corporation (LIC)  to get  majority stake in IDBI Bank  in the first transaction of this kind .
    Under the proposal, the public sector life insurance major can increase their share in public sector banks up to 51%,  which can provide Rs 10,000-13,000 crores to the lender.  However, the acquisition will be seen only as an investment and LIC will gradually reduce its stake in the lender.
