1.India rebuilds Chhyoiphel Kundeling monastery in Nepal:-

India has rebuilt Chhyoiphel Kundeling Monastery in Nepal.The Monastery has been reconstructed with Government of India grant of 18.9 million Nepalese rupees.The Chhyoiphel Kundeling Monastery was established in 1946 with the active initiation and contribution of Lisankhu villagers.

4.Guided missile destroyer vessel ‘Imphal’ launched in India:-

Indian Navy launched a guided missile destroyer vessel ‘Imphal’ at around 12.20 pm on Saturday in Mazgaon Dock Shipbuilders. It has been designed and manufactured in the country itself. This is the third vessel under ‘Project 15 Bravo’. Earlier in 2015, ‘Visakhapatnam’ and ‘Murmagova’ were launched in 2016. The three ships will be part of the navy from 2021.According to the tradition of the navy, the head of naval chief Admiral Sunil Lamba and the head of the Naval Wives Welfare Association, prior to the launch, broke coconut on a portion of the vessel. On this occasion, Admiral Lamba said, “With the coordination of MDL, Indian Navy, DRDO, OFB, BEL and other public enterprises and private industry, the level of power has been maintained to achieve the strategic objectives of the country.” Admiral Lamba congratulated the entire team involved in the shipbuilding and said that by designing such a vessel, the Directorate General of Naval Design is contributing to the dream of becoming the ‘builder’ of the Navy’s dream of becoming a ‘buyer’. He said, “The Indian Navy is fully committed and honored for the fact that all our warships and submarines are being made on the order today in the country.”

8.Indian athletes win 5 medals on opening day of Asian Athletics C-ships:-

Indian athletes won five medals on the opening day of the Asian Athletics Championships in Doha. Javelin thrower Annu Rani and 3000-meter steeple chaser Avinash Sable won the silver medals yesterday.Quartermiler M P Poovamma, 5000-meter runner Parul Choudhary and 10000-meter runner Gavit Murali Kumar bagged a bronze each on a day which saw sprint sensation Hima Das suffer a lower back spasm during her 400m heat. Sprinter Dutee Chand qualified for the semi-finals clocking 11.28 seconds to win the heat number four of the women’s 100-meter race. She bettered her earlier national record of 11.29 seconds which she set last year in Guwahati. M R Poovamma finished second in her 400-meter heat, clocking 52.46 seconds to qualify for the final round. Other top Indian athletes advanced to the next round of their respective events. They are Jinson Johnson (men’s 800 meters), Muhammed Anas and Arokia Rajiv (both men’s 400 meters), Praveen Chitravel (men’s triple jump) and Gomathi Marimuthu (women’s 1500 meter).
