Indian Navy  ‘s frontline indigenous warships  INS Sahyadri  and  INS Kolkata  along with ships and aircraft from the US Navy (USN), Japan Maritime Self Defense Force (JMSDF) and Royal Australian Navy (RAN) scheduled for Sydney from 11 to 21   Aug  23  Will participate in Malabar 2023 exercise . The Malabar Maritime series of exercises   began in 1992 as a bilateral exercise between the Indian  Navy and the US Navy and has expanded to include the four major navies in the Indo-Pacific region. In 2020 only the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) participated. This year  is the 27th exercise of Malabar  , which is being hosted by being operated by the Royal Australian Navy (RAN)  .

2 US President Joe Biden bans US investment in key technology industries boosting China’s military capability

US President Joe Biden  has   signed an executive order restricting US investment  in  key technology industries  that enhance  China’s military capabilities . President Biden  announced a national emergency resolution to address the growing threat of countries with military, intelligence, surveillance, and cyber-based capabilities  related to risky products and sensitive technology. This order will help  in semiconductor and other micro electronics, quantum computer and artificial intelligence applications. Will restrict venture capital and private equity firms from investing money in Chinese enterprises to build up. Administration officials said that this decision has been taken keeping in mind the national security.

3 Ministry of Defense has developed operating system ‘Maya’, will protect computers from cyber attack

 In the ongoing war against  cyber attacks, India’s Ministry of Defense has prepared  indigenous operating system ‘ Maya ‘. Through this, the government aims to keep computers safe from cyber attacks. Soon this indigenously developed operating system named ‘Maya OS’ will be installed in all the computers of the Defense Ministry. This work is to be done by the end of this year. In such a situation, the new OS  will replace Microsoft’s Windows  and will soon be adopted by the armed forces. In view of national security, the Ministry of Defense has developed a secure operating system Maya. It is obvious that now with the indigenous Windows Maya, the cyber security system of the Ministry of Defense will become even stronger. At the same time, the dependence on foreign software will be less. Notably,  the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) A team of experts from various government agencies, including  the Center for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC)  and  the  National Informatics Center (NIC),  developed Maya OS over six months on the open-source Ubuntu platform .

4 To promote digital transactions, the Central Bank has increased the per transaction limit for UPI Lite from existing Rs 200 to Rs 500.

Reserve Bank of India  has   proposed to start payments through dialogues on UPI . The system will allow customers   to transact through conversation driven by artificial intelligence . Reserve Bank Governor  Shaktikanta Das  said that this channel will be available on smart phones and feature phone based UPI channels. Initially this facility will be available in English and Hindi medium. Later this facility will be given in other Indian languages ​​as well. The central bank has also proposed the use of near field communication technology in UPI transactions. RBI  has increased the UPI Lite  transaction limit  from Rs 200 to Rs 500  , but has kept the overall small digital transaction limit unchanged at Rs 2,000.

5 Reserve Bank of India kept the repo rate unchanged at 6.5 percent

The Reserve Bank  has kept the key rates unchanged  for the third time in a row  . Announcing the bi-monthly monetary policy, Bank Governor  Shaktikanta Das  said that the Monetary Policy Committee unanimously   decided to keep the repo rate unchanged at 6.5 percent . Repo rate is the rate at which the Reserve Bank lends money to commercial banks. Shri Das said that  the rate of interest on fixed deposit facility-SDF is 6.15 percent  and  the rate of interest on marginal standing facility-MSF and bank rate is 6.75 percent. But it has been kept as it is. The Reserve Bank has kept a revised target of Consumer Price Inflation (CPI) at 5.4 per cent. The Governor has projected a growth rate of six and a half percent of the GDP for the year 2023-24.

6 Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya launched the second phase of the nationwide annual drug campaign to prevent mosquito-borne filariasis

Health Minister  Mansukh Mandaviya  launched the second phase  of  the nationwide annual drug campaign for the prevention of mosquito-borne filariasis  in   New  Delhi . This campaign   will be run in 81 districts of nine states . This   includes AssamBiharChhattisgarhJharkhandKarnatakaMaharashtraOdishaTelangana  and  Uttar Pradesh . Shri Mandaviya said the country  is committed to eliminate Lymphatic Filariasis by 2027 in mission mode, three years ahead of the global target Is. He said that the efforts should not be limited only to taking medicines but should also help in eradicating the diseases spread through mosquitoes. Shri Mandaviya also stressed on increasing the coordination between the State and Central Governments to ensure a healthy nation for all. He also released the National Guidelines for the Clinical Management of Dengue Fever 2023 and Chikungunya Fever.

7 Government will get ‘Havana Syndrome’ investigated in India

 Havana Syndrome is going to be investigated  in India .  A man from  Bengaluru approached the Karnataka High Court Had filed a petition in the country and demanded an inquiry regarding its prevention. The investigation will find out about the spread of this mysterious disease. After this, the court has directed the central government to investigate the possibility of the syndrome in the country within three months. Actually, Havana syndrome is a group of many diseases, which include problems such as dizziness, nausea or even blindness in one eye. Cases of this disease have been seen many times before India in 130 countries including other countries such as Tajikistan, Washington DC, Colombia and Austria. A good number of people are also affected by this problem. The first case of this disease was reported in the year 2016 from Havana, the capital of the Caribbean. The CIA officer of the US Embassy had this problem for the first time.

8 Griha Lakshmi Yojana 2023 : Telangana

In 2023 ,  the Telangana government   is going to launch  the Griha Lakshmi Yojana , a financial assistance program for women  from  SC, ST and BC communities to help them construct or improve  their  homes  . Under this scheme , Rs 3 lakh  will be provided to each beneficiary as a one-time assistance amount. Griha Lakshmi Yojana is part of the efforts of the Government of Telangana which aims to empower women and provide them access to affordable housing. The scheme is expected to benefit over 1 lakh women in the state.

9 Swati Mountain radars inducted into Indian Army

To enhance surveillance in the high altitude areas of the country,  the Indian Army  has   inducted the Swati Mountain Radar in its mountain surveillance fleet. This radar is capable of detecting and tracking small projectiles in the battlefield taking into account the environmental conditions. Deputy Chief of Army Staff (CD&S)  Lt Gen JB Choudhary  flagged off the radar system, which will strengthen the battlefield surveillance capabilities of the Army. 12 No-confidence motion against NDA government dropped in Lok Sabha

Prime Minister  Narendra Modi  has   assured the people of  Manipur that the entire country is with them. motion of no confidence in the Lok Sabha Responding to the debate, the Prime Minister said that efforts are being made by the Central and State Governments to bring the accused to justice in Manipur. He said the violence in Manipur is deplorable and crimes against women are unacceptable. He assured the people that there would be peace in Manipur in the near future and there would be rapid development in the state. Shri Modi alleged that the Congress was responsible for most of the problems in the North Eastern region. The House later rejected the no-confidence motion. When an opposition party in the Lok Sabha feels that the government does not have a majority or has lost the confidence of the government in the house, it brings a no-confidence motion. It is also called No Confidence Motion. Article-75 of the Indian Constitution states that the Union Council of Ministers is accountable to the Lok Sabha, That is, the Council of Ministers can continue only after getting majority in this House. The Council of Ministers including the Prime Minister have to resign if the motion of no confidence is passed against it.

The government has informed that  three  women judges  are working  in  the Supreme Court , one hundred and six in the high courts  and seven thousand 199 in the district and subordinate courts. This information was given by Law and Justice Minister  Arjun Ram Meghwal  in the Rajya Sabha. In a written reply, he said the government has limited role in fixing a specific percentage for women judges in the judiciary. He said that the Constitution does not provide for reservation for any caste or class of persons in the matter of appointment of judges of the Supreme Court and High Courts.

14 Approved setting up of a new spaceport at Kulasekharapattinam in Tamil Nadu to launch the Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV) developed by ISRO.

Union Minister of State  Dr. Jitendra Singh  said that  Indian Space Policy-2023 has been approved. It has been publicly released and opened to the field. The roles of various stakeholders such as In-Space, ISRO, NSIL and DOS have been clearly delineated to enhance the participation of Non-Governmental Entities (NGEs) in the entire value chain of the space economy. In a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha, Dr. Jitendra Singh said that the government has set up the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Center as a single window agency. Dr. Jitendra Singh also informed that the Laser Interferometer Gravitational Wave Observatory-India (LIGO-India) project has been approved by the Government of India at an estimated cost of Rs 2600 crore. The Department of Atomic Energy is the lead agency in this. He said that after the completion of the project, LIGO-India will be operated as a national facility for the detection of gravitational waves and research in related areas of astronomy.

Charges amounting to over ₹35,000 crore have been collected since 2018 for reasons such as non-compliance of minimum balance requirements, excess ATM transactions and SMS services. This Monthly Average Balance (MAB) or Average Monthly Balance (AMB) varies from location to location, ranging from ₹3,000 to ₹10,000 in metros, ₹2,000 to ₹5,000 in urban areas and ₹500 to ₹1,000 in rural areas Happens till.
