1.MS Dhoni becomes the first wicketkeeper to effect 100 stumpings in ODI Cricket :-

Former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni became the first wicketkeeper in world cricket to affect 100 stumpings in One Day Internationals.

Dhoni achieved the feat in his 301st ODI in Colombo when he whipped off the bails to remove Sri Lankan batsman Akila Dananjaya off leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal’s bowling.

 

2.US poet John Ashbery dies :-

John Ashbery, an enigmatic giant of modern poetry whose energy, daring and boundless command of language raised American verse to brilliant and baffling heights, died at age 90.

Ashbery, winner of the Pulitzer Prize and often mentioned as a Nobel candidate, died at his home in Hudson, New York.

His 1975 collection, “Self—Portrait in a Convex Mirror,” was the rare winner of the book world’s unofficial triple crown- the Pulitzer Prize, the National Book Award and the National Book Critics Circle prize. In 2011, he was given a National Humanities Medal.

 

3.President of India lays the foundation stone of ‘Saurashtra Narmada Avataran Irrigation Yojana’ (SAUNI) Phase-II Link-4 in Rajkot :-

The President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind laid the foundation stone of ‘Saurashtra Narmada Avataran Irrigation Yojana’ (SAUNI) Phase-II Link-4 in Rajkot, Gujarat on September 4, 2017.

 

4.Shri Gajendra Singh and Smt. Krishna Raj take charges for the Minister of State for Agriculture & Farmers Welfare and met with Shri Radha Mohan Singh :-

Minister of State for Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Shri Gajendra Singh and Smt. Krishna Raj today met with Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister, Shri Radha Mohan Singh and took the charge.

On this occasion, Shri Radha Mohan Singh said that in his Ministry, he has already accompanied by an experienced and efficient Minister of State, Shri Parshottam Rupala.

With the cooperation of these two Ministers of State, I am confident that the resolution of the creation of a new India and doubling the income of the farmers will be completed by 2022.

 

5.Uma Bharti Takes over as New Union Minister for Drinking Water and Sanitation :-

Sushri Uma Bharti today took over as new Union Minister for Drinking Water and Sanitation.

Earlier, on her arrival at the Ministry, the Minister was received by Shri Parameswaran Iyer, Secretary and other senior officials of the Ministry.

 

6.DR. Mahesh Sharma Takes Charge as Minister of State Of Environment, Forest and Climate Change :-

Dr. Mahesh Sharma took charge as Minister of State in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change here today.

Soon after assuming the charge, Dr. Mahesh Sharma said that this is an important and a challenging Ministry in today’s time, when the whole world is concerned about forest, environment and climate change.

He added that there is a lot to be done in the field of environment, starting from cleanliness, to pollution of air and water.

 

7.Dr. Satya Pal Singh takes charge as the Minister of State for Human Resource Development  :-

Dr. Satya Pal Singh took over as the Minister of State for Human Resource Development in New Delhi today.

He represents Baghpat (Uttar Pradesh) Parliamentary constituency in Lok Sabha.

 

8.Shri Giriraj Singh Takes Over As Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises  :-

Shri Giriraj Singh took over as the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises here today.

Before this charge he was Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. On the occasion Shri Kalraj Mishra, former Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises was given farewell bid.

 

9.Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi takes over as Union Minister of Minority Affairs :-

Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi took over as Union Minister of Minority Affairs here today. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Naqvi said that “3E”- Education, Employment and Empowerment is our focus during last three year and Ministry of Minority Affairs will ensure socio-economic-educational progress of all the Minorities.

The Minister emphasized that the Government is committed to empowerment of Minorities with dignity.

 

10.India despatches First Diesel Consignment to Myanmar :-

Symbolising the growing hydrocarbon engagement between India and Myanmar, the first consignment of 30 MT of High Speed Diesel was sent today from India to Myanmar by land route.

Numaligarh Refinery Ltd. (NRL), which has been supplying HSD to Bangladesh, despatched the first diesel consignment through NH 37 across the Moreh Custom Check Point on the Indian side and Tamu Custom Check Point on the Myanmar side.

 

11.Shri Piyush Goyal takes charge as Minister of Railways :-

Shri Piyush Goyal took over as the New Minister of Railways in Rail Bhavan today i.e.04th September, 2017.

He is also Minister of Coal. Prior to this, he was Minister of State (Independent Charge) of Ministries of Power; Coal; New and Renewable Energy & Mines.

Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu, Minister of Commerce and Industry & former Minister of Railways was specially present to hand over the charge to Shri Piyush Goyal.

 

12.Dr. Satya Pal Singh Assumes Charge as Union Minister of State for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation  :-

Dr Satya Pal Singh has assumed the charge of Union Minster of State for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation in New Delhi today.

Speaking on the occasion Dr. Singh thanked Prime Minister Modi for assigning him this new responsibility and expressed the hope the he will try his best to fulfill the responsibility given to him.

 

13.Meeting between Modi, Chinfing today, India meets BRICS :-

There will be a meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Chunfing who attended the BRICS conference on Tuesday.

After resolving the Dolaam controversy, it will be the first bilateral meeting between the two leaders.

Foreign Ministry officials said that according to local time, both leaders will meet at 12.30 After this Modi will go to Myanmar
