1.With its mix of infrastructure and culture, Nagpur has the potential to become the centre of development of the country, says President  :-

The President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind inaugurated the Suresh Bhat Natya Sabhagrah at Nagpur today (September 22, 2017).
Speaking on the occasion, the President said that this is his first visit to Maharashtra after assuming the office of President. Maharashtra is the ‘karmabhoomi’ of many revolutionaries, social reformers and saints.

The list of great social and political leaders produced by the state, from their many streams, is a long one and includes Shivaji Maharaj, Chhatrapati Sahu Ji, Samarth Guru Ramdas, Tatya Tope, Sant Eknath, Sant Dnyaneshwar, Sant Tukaram, Jyotiba Phule, Savitribai Phule, and Pandita Ramabai Saraswati to Gopal Krishna Gokhale, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, Acharya Vinoba Bhave, Y.B. Chavan and Baba Amte.

 

2.M/O Culture and its Organisation’s pushes for massive awareness during ongoing Swachhta Pakhwada :-

Swachhta Pakhwada’ and Swachhta hi Seva abhiyaan is being conducted by the Ministry of Culture and its 43 organisations to create a massive awareness among all stakeholders of the society.

During the current swachhta Pakhwada various autonomous, attached and subordinated organisations under the Ministry of Culture have undertaken more than 100 activities such as Shramdan by staff (cleanliness drive), various lectures, seminars, competitions, nukkad natak and painting exhibitions with an objective of dissemination of the message of Swachh Bharat widely.

 

3.Seminar on Implementation of Ayush in the Armed Forces :-

The Directorate General Armed Forces Medical Services and Headquarters IDS (Medical) in collaboration with the Ministry of AYUSH are organizing a Seminar on “Implementation of Ayush in The Armed Forces Medical Services: Opportunities and Challenges” on September 26, 2017 at Army Hospital (Research and Referral), New Delhi.

The benefits of the Indian indigenous systems of medicine and Yoga are well recognised nationally and globally. The Government of India has taken major initiatives to promote the practice of AYUSH in the country. The integration of AYUSH in the Armed Forces is challenging due to the unique conditions pertinent to the delivery of healthcare in the services.

 

4.Two days NHRC National Seminar on Good Governance, Development and Human Rights concludes with several important suggestions :-

The Two days National Seminar organized by the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on Good Governance, Development and Human Rights concluded here today with several important suggestions.

Addressing the concluding session as the Chief Guest, Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, Union Minister, Ministry of Law & Justice and Electronics and Information Technology said that good governance is very important to sustain India and Governance can be good only if it is accountable, transparent and participative.

 

5.Smarts cities acquiring censor based ‘eyes’ and ‘ears’ connected to Command and Control Centres :-

 Smart cities in the making are set to rise to an entirely a new level of monitoring and delivery of civic services through digitally integrated Central Command and Control Centres, said Shri Durga Shanker Mishra, Secretary (Housing & Urban Affairs), Government of India today.

He said so while inaugurating a day long ‘Learning and Experience Sharing Workshop on Digitally Integrated Command and Control Centres under Smart City Mission’ in Mumbai.

 

6.Dr. Harshvardhan launches Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhayay Vigyan Gram Sankul Pariyojana  :-

Department of Science and Technology is implementing several initiatives for upliftment and economic development of rural areas in the country.  A number of appropriate technologies have been developed, demonstrated and deployed at several locations in the country.

The Minister of Science & Technology, Earth Sciences and Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Dr. Harshvardhan today launched “Pt Deen Dayal Upadhayay Vigyan Gram Sankul Pariyojana” which will experiment and endeavour to formulate and implement appropriate S&T Interventions for Sustainable Development through cluster approach in Uttarakhand.

 

7.SAIL set to leverage domestic growth potential, banks on new product mix :-

Addressing the 45th Annual General Meeting of Steel Authority of India Ltd. (SAIL) held here today, Chairman SAIL, Shri PK Singh was confident of improvement in Company’s performance starting this financial year (FY 2017-18) backed by several management initiatives in every area of operations.

Shri Singh said that, “Given the current stage of development in Indian economy and the likely growth path for Country’s economy in next decade, the steel demand in India will witness significant growth in future.

SAIL with newer and better technologies at its disposal aims to leverage potential of growth in steel demand by operating at rated capacities, product differentiation and customer satisfaction.” World steel association too, in its short range outlook has a forecast of 6.1% growth in steel consumption for India in 2017.

 

8.Government provides additional Rs.12000 Crores to tackle malnutrition  :-

The Government has provided an additional Rs.12000 Crores to fight malnutrition over next three years in the country by revising cost norms for supplementary nutrition provided in anganwadis and in the scheme for adolescent girls.

Briefing media persons in New Delhi today, Secretary, WCD Shri Rakesh Srivastava said that the government has effected a quantum increase of about 33% in cost norms, which have been revised for the first time since 2011 in the case of ICDS.

In the case of Scheme for Adolescent Girls, cost norms have been increased first time since 2010. With this, an additional Rs.9900 Crore have been given for supplementary nutrition in anganwadis over the next three years and Rs.2276 Crores in the scheme for adolescent girls over the next three years, he explained.

 

9.NITI Aayog and Govt. of Assam organizes workshop on health sector reforms in Guwahati; launches SATH- Sustainable Action for Transforming Human Capital :-

The Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Assam and NITI Aayog organized a state consultative workshop today (September 22) in Guwahati.

The consultation marked the launch of program called SATH- Sustainable Action for Transforming Human Capital, a joint initiative of Government of Assam and NITI Aayog, which aims to provide structured support to Assam in identifying key health priorities and implement the solutions towards transforming the health and improving the well-being of people of Assam.
