1.Sebastian Vettel wins Hungarian Grand Prix :-

Sebastian Vettel won Hungarian Grand Prix and his team mate Kimi Raikkonen came second while Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton came third.

This is his fourth win of the season and 46th of his Formula One career.

 

2.RBI slaps Rs.3 cr penalty on Union Bank :-

The Reserve Bank of India has imposed a monetary penalty aggregating Rs. 3 crore on Union Bank of India for non-compliance with the regulatory direction on ‘know-your-customer’ (KYC) norms.

KYC is a process by which banks obtain information about the identity and address of customers.

This action is based on deficiencies in regulatory compliance and is not intended to pronounce upon the validity of any transaction or agreement entered into by the bank with its customers.

 

3.Rahul, Manu-Sumeeth clinch titles at Lagos Open :-

Indian shuttler C Rahul Yadav and men’s doubles pair of Manu Attri and B Sumeeth Reddy clinched the men’s singles and men’s doubles title respectively at Lagos International challenge in Nigeria.

Fourth-seeded Rahul surpassed compatriot Karan Rajan Rajarajan 21-15 21-13 in the summit clash to lay claim to the title at the Molade Okoya-Thomas Hall of the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Nigeria.

 

4.India bags 24 medals at Jordan Open TT :-

India has bagged total 24 medals at the Jordan Junior and Cadet Open table tennis tournament.The event held in Amman the capital of Jordan.

The tally includes 7 Gold, 7 Silver and 10 Bronze medals. In the event India was the second best finishers.

5.PM reviews flood situation in North-Eastern States at a series of high-level meetings in Guwahati; announces assistance of over Rs. 2000 crore :-

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today announced a relief package of over Rs. 2000 crore for relief, rehabilitation, reconstruction and flood mitigation measures in the flood-affected North-Eastern states.

The announcement came at the end of a series of high level meetings, where the Prime Minister reviewed the flood situation, and relief measures in the States.

 

6.Establishment of Research Institute in Yoga and Naturopathy in Karnataka and Haryana approved by the Government: Shri Shripad Naik :-

An autonomous Research Council, namely, Central Council for Research in Yoga and Naturopathy (CCRYN) is working under the Ministry of AYUSH as the apex body for Research and Education in the field of Yoga and Naturopathy.

 

7.Dr Subhash Bhamre Inaugurates 75th  Raising Day of AFHQ Civilian Services :-

Minister of State for Defence, Dr Subhash Bhamre inaugurated 75th raising day function of the Armed Forces Headquarters (AFHQ) Civilian Services here today.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Bhamre said that AFHQ civilian personnel have been standing firmly with the Armed Forces, providing them with the essential support and working for the safety of the nation with dedication and commitment, both in times of peace and war.

 

8.Health Ministry to launch Intensified Mission Indradhanush  :-

With the aim to accelerating the full immunization coverage and provide greater focus on urban areas and other pockets of low immunization coverage, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has drawn up an aggressive action plan to achieve the target by 2018.

According to the plan, States will conduct Intensified Mission Indradhanush drives for 7 working days from 7th day of every month starting from 7th October 2017 for four consecutive months excluding Sundays, holidays and Routine Immunization days.

 

9.Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad inaugurates National Conference for Young SPs of States/UTs and Commandants of CAPFs  :-

The Union Minister of Electronics & Information Technology and Law & Justice, Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad inaugurated the National Conference for Young SPs of States/UTs and Commandants of CAPFs here today.

The two-day Conference is being organised by Bureau of Police Research & Development (BPR&D), Ministry of Home Affairs.

Eminent Space Scientist and Padma Vibhushan awardee Dr. K. Kasturirangan inaugurated the new office of the Technical Secretariat of the Committee to draft National Education Policy 2017 at the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) Campus, Bengaluru today.

The committee has been constituted by Human Resource Developement Ministry, Government of India under the Chairmanship of Dr K. Kasturirangan comprising eminent experts from across the Country to draft National Education Policy, 2017.

 

11.Stock indices make a strong opening ahead of RBI decision :-

Rate cut hopes lifted markets to records on Wednesday as the Sensex surged 111 points to 32,687 and Nifty hit a life high of 10,138, with interest-sensitive stocks hogging the limelight ahead of RBI policy outcome.

The rate-setting MPC is due to announce its decision on Wednesday. A slew of strong corporate earnings provided more cheer.

 

12.Rupee loses 5 paise against dollar to 64.12 :-

The rupee on Wednesday edged down by 5 paise to 64.12 against the dollar today as the latter found buying traction among importers ahead of RBI policy decision.

The two-day monetary policy meeting concludes on Wednesday. Fresh demand of the U.S. currency from importers, traders said, weighed, but domestic equities soaring to new highs and the dollar’s weakness against other currencies overseas arrested the rupee’s fall.

 

13.Former Union Minister Santosh Mohan Dev passes away :-

Former Union Minister Santosh Mohan Dev on Wednesday passed away at his home town in Silchar, Assam. He was 83.

The Congress veteran was Heavy Industry Minister in the UPA-I government led by former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

“He passed away at 6.06 a.m. this morning,” Mr. Dev’s daughter and Congress MP Sushmita Dev told PTI from Silchar.

The seven-time Congress MP is survived by his wife and four daughters, including Ms. Sushmita Dev.

 

14.Mukesh Ambani rides Jio to lag only China’s Ma in Asia :-

Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries (RIL), has pipped Hong Kong’s Li Ka-Shing to become Asia’s second-richest person, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

Mr. Ambani’s wealth has jumped 54.8%, or by $12.5 billion, in 2017 to $35.2 billion as RIL’s market value has surged 48% this year buoyed by the introduction of Reliance Jio’s 4G mobile services and more recently a low-cost data-enabled handset.

 

15.Paris 2024 Olympics nearly assured as Los Angeles agrees to 2028 Games :-

Paris moved within a hair’s breadth on Monday of formally being chosen to host the 2024 Summer Olympics after rival candidate city Los Angeles agreed to accept the consolation prize of the 2028 Games in a rare two-way contest between the cities.

Both cities were competing for the 2024 Summer Games after several other contenders withdrew, and the stage was set for Paris to win its bid when the International Olympic Committee (IOC) confirmed that Los Angeles had officially embraced the later date of 2028.

 

16.Moeen Ali’s hat trick enables England thrash South Africa :-

England spinner Moeen Ali bowled a hat trick on Monday to finish off South Africa in the third test match.

Ali’s dismissal of South Africa’s last three batsmen in three balls across two overs handed England a 239-run victory and a 2-1 series lead ahead of Friday’s fourth and final test in Manchester.
